Itinerary

Welcome to Delhi, a magnetic blend of old and new, and the capital of modern India. Hotel rooms are available for mid-afternoon check-in.

Your day starts with a walking tour through Lodhi Gardens, home to the tombs of the Lodhi Dynasty and a popular spot for Delhiites to start their day. Then drive to see India Gate and the Presidential Palace. Take a rickshaw ride through the alleys of Chandni Chowk, a captivating bazaar, and visit Jama Masjid. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. (B)

This morning, visit Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar, the world's tallest brick minaret, dating back to the 11th century. Next, explore Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Delhi's largest and most prominent Sikh gurudwara (house of worship). After lunch at a local restaurant, travel to Agra and settle in for the evening. (B/L/D)

Start your day with a sunrise visit to the famous Taj Mahal. This remarkable monument, commissioned by Sjahjahan as a memorial to his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, took 22 years to build. This afternoon, visit Agra Fort, a colossal, red sandstone UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising the spectacular Mughal Palace with audience halls, the Room of Mirrors, and the pavilion where Shahjahan spent his last days. (B)

Today, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the sandstone palaces, elegant courtyards, and victory gate of this ghostly place built in 1569 and deserted by its people when water ran out. After lunch, travel to Jaipur, often referred to as the "Pink City." (B/L)

Start with a visit to the legendary Amber Fort, known as the "Sleeping Beauty of Rajasthan." This fortress-palace has a somber exterior that hides a richly ornate interior of royal apartments, including an alabaster Hall of Victory and a superb Chamber of Mirrors. After lunch, visit Jantar Mantar and explore the City Palace Museum with its collection of paintings, carpets, weapons, and costumes.

Lastly, visit Ladli, a training program teaching orphaned and destitute children valuable skills to keep them off the streets. Here learn about the project, interact with the children, and help them practice their English. (B/L)

Today, drive back to Delhi. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Your tour ends with breakfast this morning. (B)

I liked the hotels and I liked the tour guide, he was very helpful. I liked everything in fact. The food was very good and our driver was so careful with his driving and our Tour Guide with the constant supply of water was very good too.
Opened our eyes to the rich Indian history and it's people. 6 , WA, Australia, Jan 2016
There were many temples, forts, palaces and monuments that were quite magnificent, including of course the most famous Taj Mahal. The people in the country villages were friendly and welcoming and the children were a delight. Our guide, Anakram, had an amazing knowledge of Indian history and was very willing to explain the nuances of Indian culture read more and life. Some of the roads we travelled on were very rough and on these occasions we we were all glad to get off the coach. There was only 10 in the touring group which allowed for plenty of interaction between us. Overall, it was a very good tour and well worth the money.
