Jewels of Dalmatia
0 Denise, QLD, Australia, Jun 2025 What a fabulous tour. It was so interesting visiting Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia (Hvar, Bled and Ljubljana just some of my personal favourites). There's a fair bit of walking involved in different city centres/old towns (often over slippery cobbled streets), as well as long walks along lakes and gorges, which would be a little difficult for those read more with mobility issues. Thoroughly enjoyable day excursions and experiences were had. Be aware that the weather was very warm (June), and that some locations, particularly along the Adriatic coastline, were very crowded with tourists. That aside, there was so much to enjoy on this tour, and I really enjoyed learning about the history of these countries, and the journeys they have endured over the centuries to become the countries they are today. Lastly, we loved the smaller tour group size offered by Bunnik Tours....so much better than the larger group tours I have been on in the past!! We were blessed all round with a wonderful group of fellow travellers, a 10 out of 10 tour director, and a great bus driver. Highly recommend this tour, you won't be disappointed. Wonderful, well organised tour
0 Paul and Kathryn, SA, Australia, May 2025 This was our first Bunnik’s small group tour. We had 17 travellers on a full sized coach, so plenty of room for everyone. The tour had a great blend of tours, sightseeing and free time. It also provided a great range of old cities with their small streets, beautiful architecture, castles, forts, walled towns, churches, as well as stunning natural read more beauty. We especially loved Lake Bled, Dubrovnik, Vintgar Gorge, Plitvice Lakes and the beautiful and relaxing city of Ljubljana. One of the biggest surprises was the visit to the Postojna Caves. The size and beauty of these caves is impossible to describe. Slovenia is simply amazing and I encourage everyone to visit it. It considerably quieter than most other European tourist hotspots.
Our Tour Director, Klemen, was outstanding and he went out of his way to add extra sites to our itinerary without rushing us. At the end of each day he sent us a handful of ‘the highlight’ photos he had taken during the day, which was a great way of recording all the things we had seen and visited. Prior to commencing the tour we were slightly disappointed with the small number of lunches and evening meals included. However, we quickly discovered that on most days we only needed an ice cream and drink for lunch and a light dinner, so it makes sense not to pay for a large meal every evening.
The included meals were of a good standard. Overall, this was a well organised and perfectly balanced tour. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering this part of the world. Great Trip A Real Jewel 1 Gary and Judy, VIC, Australia, Apr 2025
Our Trip to Croatia with Bunnik Tours was great value for money. A great mix of activities, caves , waterfalls and forests and above all a wonderful tour leader, competent driver and a great bunch of fellow travellers. Overall visits to Bosnia , Slovenia and the Istrian Peninsula added to a wonderful holiday😊😀
Thoroughly enjoyable Jewels of Dalmatia tour.
0 Carolyn and Jon, ACT, Australia, Apr 2025 Our journey was pleasant and worry free from the very start. As a small group of eight, we were not crowded in our full sized bus and were able to establish easy, friendly relationships within the group. It was an excellent time of year for this tour as it wasn't too hot nor too cold and not too crowded at the various sites. Martina was an excellent read more tour manager. She was knowledgeable, professional and always on the lookout to ensure our every need was met. She even was there to say goodbye when our airport transfer left at 3.30am as we had a six o'clock flight. We found Bunnik delivered on all they promised and we would definitely travel with them again and recommend them to anyone. Likewise Global Journeys organised our tirp well and their communications were clear. Well done! We are happy customers. Jewels of Dalmatia 5 Avril, QLD, Australia, Jun 2018
An excellent tour with a good group of like-minded travellers of a similar age, and an interesting itinerary. The hotels were mostly of a good standard as were the included meals - which catered adequately for me as a vegetarian. Our tour guide Petr did a good job of keeping us informed and the local guides were mostly very good and informative. With read more a group of sixteen we had plenty of space to spread out on the coach. Jewels of Dalmatia, well paced friendly tour
7 Anne , VIC, Australia, May 2018 Have just returned from Jewels of Dalmatia tour with Bunnik. The tour had a maximum of 17 passengers and this made travelling very easy. Blaž the tour guide was excellent, he was very well informed and included special inclusions that made our tour that more personal. The accommodation was very good, usually close into town so you could go out and explore. read more
Enjoyed Dubrovnik, Plitvice lakes and the beautiful scenery of Slovenia. The tour group were friendly and sociable. The month of May is definitely the best time to travel. Very few crowds, weather was great, not too warm, good walking weather.
I would travel with Bunnik again, transfers went smoothly both arriving and departing. Yvonne at Global Journeys did an excellent job, especially with the transfer of hotels in Venice, I really appreciated not having to move hotels, as some people on our tour had to do. I wouldn’t hesitate booking with Global Journeys again. Introduction to Dalmatia
11 Pauline , WA, Australia, Sep 2017 The tour, Jewels of Dalmatia, was an excellent introduction to some of the great old cities and parts of of Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia, with a parting farewell in the unique old Italian city, Venice. The scenery on the 3500 km journey was breathtaking, be it the mountains, forests, plateaus or the coasts. The old read more cities were rich with history and glorious architectural styles, with an ambiance found only where there has been a rich background of various cultures over the centuries.
Our coach was modern and comfortable, our driver excellent. The tour guide was personable, knowledgeable had infinite patience and always had our welfare at heart. We didn't have the cities all to ourselves. It must be the 'go to' destination of Europe at the moment (Sept 2017) as we always had lost of other coaches plus a number of cruise ships for company. Sometimes it meant it took a while longer to access facilities, cafes and shops.
Overall, the tour was busy and would suit people who like to be on the go. Dalmatia Coast was more interesting and varied than expected 7 Rod & Mary, NSW, Australia, May 2017
One negative, was lack of information about flight Options. Itinerary provided at last minute indicated only option via Heathrow which added almost a days flight time on both legs. As new Bunnik travellers we were not informed regarding alternative options. We were highly delighted with the tour and considered our tour guide instrumental in achieving read more a really positive experience. A great time had by all. Covered a range of interesting places and fantastic scenery 6 Jillian Homberg, Australia, May 2014
The Bunnik 'Jewels of Dalmatia' tour was very enjoyable. It was well organised and the itinerary covered a range of very interesting places and fantastic scenery. There was something to appeal to everyone - a number of visits to historical sites / churches / museums, with excellent local guides and stunning scenery (coast of Croatia, Plitvice Lakes, read more Lake Bled etc.) The well-located hotels meant access to local shopping experiences and restaurants was very easy. Although the tour group had the maximum limit (26), the bus used for the tour was a full-sized, 'luxurious' bus, meaning that everyone could spread out and appreciate the many wonderful views while travelling to the various destinations. The tour guide Anna-Maria was excellent - very knowledgeable, with a happy disposition and great organisational skills. On the whole, the accommodation was very good - excellent. The only negative was the dinners supplied by the hotel at Plitvice Lakes, but with such a fantastic location, that small point didn't have a major effect on the enjoyment of the venue. The booking was handled in an efficient manner and questions were answered promptly. This was my first experience with Global Journeys and I would have no hesitation in recommending either the Bunnik tour or Global Journeys to other people. I would highly recommend this tour 3 Margaret Woodgate, Australia, Apr 2014
We went on Jewels of Dalmatia 2014 with Bunnik Tours in April 2014. We were very impressed with the Tour. Our tour guide Anna-Maria met us at the airport in Budapest and we were transported to our hotel for the start of our tour. There was 16 Australians on the tour on a 46 seater coach. The maximum on the tour is 26 people and so there will always read more be plenty of room on the coach to spread out. Anna-Maria was very knowledgeable and lots of fun and made sure that we were always well looked after. She went out of her way to solve any problems people on the tour encountered. The tour requires a reasonable level of fitness as there is a number of walking tours of cities that go for at least a couple of hours. The day at Plitvice Lakes was one of the many highlights and involved walking around the parkland for over 4 hours looking at the hundreds of waterfalls that link the 7 lakes in the area. The scenery and amazing old cities visited on the tour were spectacular. There is quite a bit of free time on the tour which works really well. We were always shown around a city and taken on a walk to orientate ourselves before the free time and were always given maps and handy hints so we wouldn't get lost. There was no pressure to do anything speciific in our free time, it was ours to enjoy as we wished. The weather was a bit cool and we had quite a few days where it rained part of the day but were still happy to travel at this time of the year to avoid the big crowds and the heat. The hotels were of a high standard and were always within at the most a 15 minute walk of the very centre of the cities we visited. Most places we visited we stayed 2 nights which made the pace of the tour really pleasant. I would highly recommend this tour. Results 1-10 of 10
