Fantastic Kimberley Tour 4 Essence of the Kimberley , NSW, Australia, Aug 2018
This was a great way to see the Kimberley and travel to places we would not normally get to see. Travelling the infamous Gibb River Rd and the even worse road to the Bungles was a highlight. Spectacular walks to Gorges where we could swim in the pools, although quite fresh, and amazing colours of the geological formations. Great chance to see lots of read more wildlife. The accommodation provided by APT and the food exceeded expectations. Our tour group was of similar age but with diverse backgrounds and all got on well. Highly enjoyed and recommend to anyone wishing to see this unspoilt part of Australia.
Kimberly Perfection   10 , SA, Australia, Aug 2018
Our first APT trip - and what a trip. Everything was wonderful - the experiences, the learning, the company, the food, the wine, the cabin, the entertainment and best of all - the amazing crew. We loved that there seemed to be genuine respect and appreciation between all staff (different to other big ship experiences). Despite having to answer the same read more questions and give out the same information hundreds (1000's?) of times, everyone acted as if it was the first - and with a big smile. The cabin attendants (hi Savio!) and catering and other hospitality staff always looked and sounded as if they were delighted to see you, the deck guys were amazing AND entertaining and the expedition team were just wonderful - enthusiastic, generous, knowledgeable and skilled. We were sad to arrive in Darwin at the end of the cruise. Thank you everyone.
Fantastic river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest   17 Magnificent Europe , VIC, Australia, Aug 2018
Great trip, met some really lovely people, very social trip. Food excellent - so much, definitely recommend this trip, nothing to do but be pampered. Thanks Global Journeys for a very smooth booking.
Cable Beach Resort & Coral Discoverer Cruise from Broome to Darwin   3 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2018
Hannah Campbell's friendly personal service from Global Journeys did a fabulous job of looking after our booking from the moment we contacted her to the completion of our booking and our arrival back home. Would certainly book our next trip through them.

Our three day stay at Cable Beach Resort and local tours certainly ticketed off our Broome Bucket read more list - from breakfast and dinner each night at the Sunset Bar & Grill, lunch at Matso's Brewery, to the Sunset Camel Ride along Cable Beach to Willie Creek Pearl Farm are all great memories.

Our next part of our journey was a 10 day cruise along the Kimberley Coast from Broome to Darwin with Captain Craig Argent, Officers and his fabulous crew that extended a warm welcome onboard and for the whole cruise, taking in places such as - Hidden Island, Whirlpool Pass, Koolan Island, Talbot Creek, Horizontal Waterfalls, Raft Point, Montgomery Reef, Price Regent River, Careening Bay, Prince Frederick Harbour, Winyalkan and Mitchell Falls, Bigge Island, Vansittart Bay and King George River. All beauties to behold in their colour and slender.
Wonders of Scandinavia with Russian Waterways 3 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2018
We enjoyed the Scandinavian tour more than the Russian cruise. It had more to see over the tour. St Petersburg and Moscow were great but in between was flat with lots of water. All the water was quite amazing really.

The negatives:
- The flights over were good but APT missed our pick up in Copenhagen. We waited from 7:30 to 11:30am at the airport read more pick up point before catching a cab. Thankfully the APT Tour Manager reimbursed our taxi fare.
- Despite the cabin upgrade we had a cabin with two single mattresses together in a pretend double bed with an uncomfortable centre ridge that usually parted during the night. Not getting a good night’s sleep took some gloss off the cruise.
- We were pleased to learn that as Lufthansa & Singapore Airlines are in Star Alliance our bags were booked straight through from Moscow to Brisbane. This made the 5 hr stopover in Frankfort very tedious – but thanks for trying anyway
- We learned from other passengers that there was a nightly Captain’s Dinner held in the Ship’s rear lounge that was never generally advertised and to which Sophie and me were not invited. I thought this was outrageous – on the APT Amsterdam to Budapest Tour there was a similar Captains Dinner to which all were initially rostered for then accessed through an open booking register.
APT Kimberley Kakadu Arnhem Land   1 Kimberley and Top End , WA, Australia, Aug 2018
Fantastic trip. Accommodation wonderful glamping, food 1st class in the most remote places. Tour driver/leader Luke was exemplary, kind, considerate, extremely knowledgeable, entertaining & looked after us all perfectly. Group of 18 mixed well & had a lot of fun. We were sorry when it ended!
Rockies Odyssey & Alaska Cruise 1 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Aug 2018
Our trip to Canada and Alaska with APT was very pleasant and relaxing. APT did a superb job looking after us. In the future I will have no hesitation travelling with them again.
Trip of a lifetime   16 Magnificent Europe , VIC, Australia, Aug 2018
We have just returned from our first river cruise with APT and it was amazing. From the time we booked with Global Journeys who looked after everything, to the time we came home we could not have imagined how fabulous and stress free the whole experience could be been. Madeline from Global Journeys had it all covered and helped create our trip of a read more lifetime. Amsterdam to Budapest was incredible, the scenery and spectacular towns we visited were just breathtaking. The signature experiences will be part of our memories forever. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone. Thanks to APT, Global Journeys, Madeline for making our dreams a wonderful reality.
Stress free cruising through the heart of Europe 19 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, Aug 2018
A wonderful relaxed way to see a little of beautiful Europe. Could not fault the ship or the staff - we were very pampered. We did have to change ships halfway through because of low water levels but this was managed with minimal disruption. Our tour director Rachel, was excellent but unfortunately after 6 days she fell and broke her shoulder, poor read more girl. But she was replaced next day by Stuart who was every bit as good. Everything ran like clockwork and the APT special highlights - Namedy Castle, the Majestic Imperator train and the Vienna concert in Palais Liechtenstein were stunning. Would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see a few highlights of Europe but is put off by crowds, congestion etc. This is the way to do it!
9 Day El Questro, Gorges & Purnululu Tour 4 Essence of the Kimberley , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
Wonderful tour to magnificent areas of the Kimberley....made especially enjoyable by our brilliant Driver/Tour Director Kat whose knowledge and love of this unique part of Australia was fantastic. Accommodation/meals were excellent. A range of diverse activities added to the enjoyment of the tour. Global Journeys' streamlined booking system was very read more good and Hannah's attention to detail was excellent.
Amsterdam to Budapest River Cruise 21 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
We enjoyed every minute of our River Cruise, the weather perfect, the food amazing, the staff and crew on both ships outstanding, the tours and guides amazing, however the icing on the cake was the professionalism of the cruise director - nothing fazed him, a wonderful sense of humour which was put to the test with over 150 people on board to please read more - which he did amazingly well - well done Gunther. We would certainly recommend APT and this cruise to our friends.
Amazing trip through Canadian Rockies and the Inside Passage Alaska   12 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
Have just returned from this magnificent APT tour! This tour included a fabulous luxury GoldLeaf train trip, beautiful hotels, wonderful scenery and a great group of travelling companions, plus a delightful Alaskan Cruise to round off the journey. We have travelled on many group journeys but none can match the quality of this APT trip. This is definitely read more the way to go with so many all-inclusive features, such as a wide range of inclusive tours to choose from in each stopover, excellent accommodation in top class hotels (most for 2 nights) all porterage, tips, airline transfers, good food options etc. etc.

Many of the other cheaper trips look similar but do not offer the same inclusions and in the end often end up costing almost as much once you start paying for tips, tours etc. APT with the all-inclusive bundle takes the concern out of travelling as you never have to hump your own case around or need to consult your wallet looking for small denominations to ‘tip’ people.

Our favourite hotel was the Fairmont Lake Louise staying in a superb lake-view room - the view was mind-blowing and certainly made us appreciate how lucky we are to be able to travel at this level. My personal bucket-list has always included the Banff Springs Hotel and Lake Louise and I was not disappointed with either, such wonderful memories. Photo is the actual view from our window at Lake Louise! The Gold Leaf Rocky Mountaineer starting on Day 3 was an added bonus and really brought the group together as we shared meals, wonderful sights and general fun during this travel. We all felt that we knew each other after this train journey and this set us up for a wonderful bus trip with lots of shared photos, jokes, email swapping etc.

Some days were long (early morning bag pulls etc.) but each one was a new eye opening journey so we soon forgot about this and simply enjoyed what was on offer. Our super safe driver Brian and our Tour Guides Ron Grant (Canada road trip) and Cara (Alaskan cruise) were both absolutely full of local knowledge and tips that saved us so much time by pointing out the best free WiFi, food and great sightseeing spots etc. etc. This trip with APT was superb in every aspect except for the return airline trip with Air Canada! As this is the only airline offering direct flights – we are a captive audience and they treat us (especially the Sydney flights) as 2nd rate citizens! I would recommend that people contemplating this or any other trip to Canada completely boycott this airline – take more time to travel with a better airline with a stopover via the USA and then on to Canada, you would be doing yourself a great favour.

Thank you once again Global Journeys (especially Jemma) for yet another well organised trip, and making everything so easy for us. Can't wait to start planning the next trip.
Spectacular Scenery, Bumpy Roads. 7 Kimberley Complete , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
This holiday went well. We were surprised at how early we had to book to secure a place, but Jemma from Global Journeys made it all happen including a one dayer to Horizontal Falls, which we would recommend as the APT tour doesn't go there. Our flights, accommodation and tours all melded nicely together resulting in a hassle-free holiday, thanks to read more Jemma.

A lot of the 3200 km of driving was on unsealed roads and the corrugations were significant. We went through quite a few creek beds, often containing a fair bit of water. Accommodation was about as good as could be expected, but the Glamping components were pretty cold at night. Meals were especially good at the wilderness lodges. The scenery was mighty! We have been to many US national Parks and the Kimberley outshines them. However, unlike the US ones, which are relatively easy to access, a lot of the ones on this tour require some fairly tough hiking. If you can afford it, do the helicopter at the Bungle Bungles.
Canada and Alaska: trip of a lifetime 2 , ACT, Australia, Jul 2018
Fabulously varied and enjoyable tour. Wonderful contrasts: the modern buzz of Toronto, Niagara lived up to and exceeded the hype, Quebec dripped with French charm, up close with whales and orcas in Victoria, and the stunning Butchart gardens, jaw-droppingly beautiful Canadian Rockies, great fun on the Rocky Mountaineer, magnificent glaciers on the cruise read more and Alaska up past the Arctic Circle (We're certainly not in Kansas anymore, Toto!). Lisa, our guide for the East of Canada was absolutely top notch, and Linda in the West was nearly as good. Great group, great food, great memories. Now we have to lose the weight we put on, and start planning our next holiday!
Absolutely Amazing 2 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
The trip was absolutely amazing from beginning to end, there was not one negative with the boat, excursions or anything pertaining to our experience. We felt privileged to be able to explore this special part of Australia with a very professional company – APT. The ship and their crew could not do enough for the passengers and what blew us away was read more the educational content and the great Naturalists that were on board and whom we went out with every day to experience this pristine environment.

We have come back raving and we are enticing friends to do the trip and will give them Global Journeys information for booking. Thanks again for making the process so smooth, Global Journeys were great and to APT who we have used for the first time and cannot express how impressed we were with everything.
15 day trip through the Kimberley   5 Kimberley Complete , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
Accommodation in Broome was really good - only thing that needs to be put right was there was no mini bar in the rooms the APT groups were accommodated in. When I enquired at the front desk, they had no idea. The APT trip was very good, most accommodation was excellent. The Lodge at the Bungle Bungles needs to be upgraded, it was VERY cold in the tents read more and overnight temperatures were down to 0 degrees. The information booklet didn’t mention how cold it could get. The eating area was all open to the elements (I understand with the wet season) but they could at least hang roll up blinds on the sides.
Wildlife experience   3 Kimberley and Top End , QLD, Australia, Jul 2018
We both had a great time. Some of the walks were a little difficult but managed most of them. A bit dangerous at times for those older travelers. Food good, tour leader great and accommodation while comfortable sometimes a little cool in the evenings. Being better prepared for a couple of cold nights may have helped. Extra excursions (helicopter rides read more over Mitchell falls and Bungle Bungles) well worth it. Boat trips through gorges fantastic with the Ord river and Kununurra Dam trips very interesting with great commentary (plenty of Crocs too). A wonderful experience to visit Arnhem Land and the Aboriginal cultural centre with Ryan Sage a particularly knowledgeable guide. All in all a trip worth doing.
Alaskan Adventure   1 , QLD, Australia, Jul 2018
Great holiday and tour. This was our first cruise and it won’t be our last. The cruise was fantastic, the captain and crew did everything possible to see the sights and highlights. Our host Glen from APT was on the ball and we didn’t have a worry in the world.
Excellent holiday, despite ...   16 Magnificent Europe , WA, Australia, Jul 2018
Our cruise featured two major problems. A barge collision in the canal meant that we needed to change ships half way through the trip. There was also a health scare which unfortunately occurred on the night of our dinner and concert at Burg Namedy and brought the evening to a premature close. Our entire crew (on both vessels), our cruise director Emese read more and the APT staff merit the highest praise for managing to bring us through all obstacles to the finale in Budapest. Obviously this entailed a lot of additional work, which was undertaken cheerfully, and the team-work required was clearly visible.

There were many highlights. Those which stood out for me were the train trip on the Majestic Imperateur, the evening concert at the Liechtenstein Palace in Vienna and the twilight cruise past the Budapest lights. All tour guides without exception were top quality, as were the shore excursions. I especially liked the "Freedom of Choice" nature of these, which meant that passengers could do as much or as little as they felt like. As a solo traveller I had no difficulty in making new friends aboard, and commend the attitude of my fellow travellers. I cannot end this review without a mention of the food and drink. I had expected both to be of very good quality and am happy to say that both exceeded my expectations. The two dinners at the Chef's Table were standouts.
Amsterdam to Prague cruise   4 Magnificent Europe with Prague , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
Wonderful cruise with a great variety of excursions and wonderful food. The staff were courteous and helpful.
Bikes were available for use and a escorted rides could be taken between some towns. One enjoyable bike ride was between Melk and Durnstein along the banks of the Danube.
