Seattle is a dynamic, urban city, located in the Northwest region of the United States on Puget Sound. Being surrounded by water and unmatched natural beauty, outdoor activities have become a popular aspect of this area. This city is also home to modern architecture, captivating art, and their famously prominent coffee culture.

Top Things to Do in Seattle:

  • shop at the longest-running farmers markets in the US, the Pike Place Market
  • visit ‘The Seattle Spheres’, an indoor rainforest
  • explore the Starbucks Reserve and Tasting Room
  • visit the iconic ‘Space Needle’

While at sea, take time to recharge before the next adventure. Lounge by the pool, be spoiled at the spa, dine at any of the onboard restaurants or explore the thrills on each deck until we arrive at the next destination. Make the most of your day at sea by enjoying our Wi-Fi, drink and Speciality Dining Packages. These services are available at an additional cost.

The international date line, established in 1884, passes through the mid-Pacific Ocean and roughly follows a 180 degrees longitude north to south line on the Earth. It does zigzag around political borders such as eastern Russia and Alaska’s Aleutian Islands.

Crossing the date line eastbound decreases the date by one day, while crossing the date line westbound increases the date. So when you cross east to west you always lose a day and crossing from west to east you get the same day twice (or gain a day).

Hakodate is one of the most popular city destinations in Japan. Here you can experience diverse dynastic architecture, the last Shogun battlefield and enjoy shimmering night views from Mount Hakodate. Located along Hokkaido's southwestern tip, you can immerse yourself in history within the star-shaped walls of Fort Goryokaku and explore the site of famous battles that transformed Japan.

Enjoy a mouth-watering seafood rice bowl (kaisen-don) from the Hakodate Morning Market and then relax with a soak in the Yunokawa hot springs on Hakodate's outskirts.

Arrives: 08:00 Departs: 18:00

Akita is the capital of Akita Prefecture, which is renowned for Akita dogs, high-quality rice and sake, and lively folk festivals. Among the area's main attractions are its natural beauty of mountains and the sea, hot springs and the town of Kakunodate, which preserves one of Japan's most interesting samurai districts. Ships will dock at the Akita Port Cruise Terminal.

Top Things to Do in Akita:

  • visit the Kakunodate Samurai District
  • sample sake at a local brewery
  • visit Lake Tazawa, Japan's deepest lake
  • take in the view from Mt. Kanpuzan

Tokyo, Japan's bustling capital, offers an eclectic mix of tradition and modernity. Begin your adventure with a visit to the Asakusa district, home to the ancient Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo's oldest and most significant temple. Nearby, Nakamise Street is perfect for souvenir shopping and sampling traditional snacks.

For a panoramic view of the city, head to the Tokyo Skytree, one of the world's tallest towers. Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest pedestrian intersections, is a must-see for its sheer scale and energy. To experience tranquility, visit the serene Meiji Shrine, nestled in a lush forest in Shibuya. Don't miss trying Tokyo's renowned sushi at Tsukiji Outer Market or exploring the vibrant Harajuku district for trendy fashion and unique cafes.

Port:Yokohama

Yokohama Port serves as a gateway for travelers heading to Tokyo, located approximately 30 kms (about 19 miles) north of the port. The journey to Tokyo can take around 30 to 45 minutes by train. The Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal is the main docking site for cruise ships. The most efficient way to travel is by train, with the Minatomirai Line directly connecting Yokohama to Shibuya, a major hub in Tokyo. This allows visitors to easily access famous sights such as the Shibuya Crossing, Meiji Shrine, and the vibrant district of Shinjuku. Given the limited time typical of cruise stopovers, planning ahead to prioritize which attractions to visit is advisable.

Note: Ship ports may not be located in the starting & ending cities listed. Port and transfer details will be provided in your travel documentation. The provided itinerary is for informational purposes only. Activities and sightseeing attractions listed may not be available or achievable within the time in port.

Amazing Experience   2 , New Zealand, Feb 2025
Virgin Cruisers here. From the outset - from searching for the appropriate cruise/ assistance all the way - Hannah Perry at Global Journeys was amazing to deal with. There was potentially a group of 25 which reduced to 16 - Hannah assisted each and every one of us. All I needed to do was to refer all family to Hannah. Everyone came back with the same read more compliments - so attentive/ easy to deal with - so quick to respond. Then we go onto the cruise - Quantum of the Seas - Brizzy to Airlie Beach - 4 nights. Just perfect amount of time for us. We all had the best time. The whole family enjoyed it and great memories were made. Will definitely do it again over the next couple of years - and will be looking for Royal Carribean as so many regular cruisers complimented this was their favourite ship. Thank you Hannah and the team and thank you Royal Carribean - we couldnt have asked for a better experience.

Fantastic on Quantum of the Seas - with 2 teenagers in tow! So much for them and us to do. If we were on our own, we probably would choose a smaller ship next time as we were worn out getting to all the activities and we would travel when it isn't school holidays.! The evening shows were terrific and there were so many fun fun trivia sessions. Staff read more were impeccable and there was such good quality food of every description. They were extremely clean and germ conscious!

Our stateroom was good quality ship standard, but if you like a soft bed, ask for an extra bed topper! (I found out on our last night we could do this!) We discovered that if you book the tours through the ship, it costs more, but when it comes to the tender boats to go to ports, they got the preference. At Port Vila there was only 2 tender boats going back and forth which took 1 hr each - for 5,000 people!? Our tour was booked for 8.30am and we finally arrived at port and left for our tour at midday. (The tour people waited and arranged alternative for us (we were up at 5.30am to beat the rush!) They put 10 tenders on coming back onto ship. Other than that, well worth it! Global Journeys certainly made our travels easy with the way they handled our booking and documents -thank you Hannah.
