Starting from the historic city of Athens, this adventure takes you through the stark beauty read more of Greece’s islands, from the archaeological site of Delphi to the ‘Caribbean of Greece’ Lefkada to historic and beautiful Corfu.

Stop in Albania’s Sarande, a beautiful coastal town, and the fortified city of Kotor in Montenegro, before cruising along the dramatic Adriatic coastline. The beauty of Dubrovnik will capture your heart, with its red-roofed buildings and city walls that teeter above the Adriatic Sea. The sophisticated city of Split is both historic and cosmopolitan at the same time, with its palm-lined promenade and UNESCO World Heritage palace ruins, while the island of Hvar is a jumble of whitewashed buildings and rolling hillsides.

Italy’s coast is home to many charming towns, from historic and unhurried Monopoli in Puglia to the chic resort town of Taormina in Sicily. The renowned Amalfi Coast makes up the final stretch of this incredible journey, with its steep cliffside towns Amalfi and Sorrento oozing historic beauty on a stunning coastline.

Itinerary

Your cruise begins in the ancient Greek capital, Athens, where you'll be transferred to your Emerald Cruises luxury yachts. The birthplace of democracy and Western civilisation, Athens is the home of prominent figures of ancient Greece, such as Plato and Socrates. (D)

Today it's time to sail through the 19th-century Corinth Canal. A feat of engineering, this narrow waterway was cut from solid rock and is more than six kilometres long with walls that reach up to 90 metres high. It crosses the isthmus of Corinth in Greece into the Ionian Sea. Sail to the small port of Itea, then embark on a journey to the archaeological site of Delphi, regarded by the Ancient Greeks as the centre of the world. This well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site is nestled within the mountainside was a sacred space where pilgrims could hear prophecies directly from the Gods. (B/L/D)

Known as the ‘Caribbean of Greece' for its lush landscape and crystal-clear waters, Lefkada is connected to the mainland by a narrow bridge, making it one of the few islands here accessible by car. One of the most fascinating places in Lefkada is the Castle of Agia Mavra, which dates to the 14th century and was built to protect the island from invasions. Nestled between imposing mountains and the Adriatic Sea, this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city is a blend of Venetian palaces, a 12th-century cathedral, cobblestone lanes and café-hemmed squares. Coined the Pearl of the Adriatic, this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city is renowned for its breathtaking architecture: its red terracotta tiled roofs and whiteish walls striking against the turquoise waters that laps below.
