Itinerary

Start this morning with independent touring in Dublin on a Hop-On, Hop-Off bus. Your voucher also includes a visit to one of Dublin's top attractions – Guinness Storehouse, Teeling Distillery, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, Jameson Distillery Bow St. Experience, or the GPO Museum. Dine independently this evening.

Enjoy the morning exploring Dublin with the included vouchers. At 2:00 PM, depart from your hotel for a panoramic view of Dublin. Drive through the lively streets with a local guide, seeing this historic city's highlights: Trinity College, elegant Georgian homes, and modern buildings rising by the River Liffey. Visit Dublin Castle for a guided tour and see the splendid State Apartments; for centuries, this impressive complex was the seat of colonial power in Ireland, and now hosts official ceremonies.

Return to your hotel for a welcome drink with your group, then on to the Merry Ploughboy Pub for a dinner of Irish specialties and a lively show with traditional music and step-dancing. (B/D)

Travel through lush green countryside on your way to Blarney Castle. Along the way, stop for photos of the stately ruins of the Rock of Cashel on their hilltop perch. At Blarney, climb the winding staircase to kiss the legendary Blarney Stone and gain the gift of the gab, or wander the beautiful gardens. Arrive in the friendly, lakeside town of Killarney, where you'll dine at your hotel this evening. (B/D)

Visit CIE Tours preferred shopping partner Moriarty's in the beautiful Gap of Dunloe before embarking on the famed Ring of Kerry scenic drive. The winding, 100-mile route reveals breathtaking coastal and mountain views, with plenty of photo stops. Pause for a casual lunch in a cozy restaurant.

Continue on to Valentia Island to visit the Skellig Experience, a visitor center telling the story of the neighboring island of Skellig Michael, which you'll see off the coast. Learn how this island, a filming location for “Star Wars,” was once the austere home of early Christian monks. Stroll around the quaint, colorful village of Sneem and at Moll's Gap for panoramic views of Ireland's highest mountains. Visit a farm to see a demonstration of skilled dogs herding sheep. Return to Killarney and enjoy a free evening to dine and discover the pubs as you wish. (B/L)

Take a ferry across the River Shannon, then drive along the coast of County Clare to the Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular wall of sandstone soaring almost 700 feet above the Atlantic. Continue on to your hotel.

In the evening, enjoy a medieval-style feast of traditional Irish fare at a castle. Lords and ladies will serenade you with songs and harp music evocative of medieval times. (December and January departures may offer a different dining experience.) (B/D)

Drive to the vibrant, artistic city of Galway for a panoramic tour and free time to browse the local shops, watch street performers, see the medieval buildings, or relax in a pub or café. Travel across the country to Dublin, where you're free to dine in one of the city's excellent restaurants or explore its legendary pubs. (B)

Your tour ends after breakfast today. (B)

Great trip, wonderful way of being introduced to Ireland. Special mention goes to Liam the driver/guide for very informative and friendly service and going above and beyond for retrieving a lost wallet of a fellow tour member, 5 stars!!!!
Wonderful tour throughout 2 , Australia, May 2019
Just wanted to let you know how very much we enjoyed our recent Taste of Ireland Tour. It was wonderful throughout - our guide was exceptional and so helpful. Weather fine and the countryside was indeed 'emerald'. We could not have had a better experience of coach travel.
Great Taste of Ireland tour 2 , Australia, Mar 2019
It was a great and amazing tour that dived right into the history and culture of Ireland. The tour director Aiden Carrigy added humour so there was never a dull moment and answered all of the questions the group had about Ireland, he did a brilliant job. I would recommend this tour to many of my friends and family back home.
By far the best way to travel 1 , Australia, Jul 2018
My first experience with CIE! It has been so amazing and our tour guide/coach driver was outstanding. Wish there was a way to request such a gentle informative guide. This is my second trip to this area and by far the best way to travel and enjoy all the stops and the comfort of the bus ride. I will most certainly recommend this tour to friends and read more family. I look forward to using CIE for future travels!
Taste of ireland 2 , VIC, Australia, May 2018
My husband and I were on the 7 day Taste of Ireland. It was our first ever coach tour experience, so we really did not know what to expect. It turned out to be one of our most memorable trips thus far. Firstly Liam our tour director was an absolute legend! His fantastic stories, funny jokes and snippets about all the amazing history and culture of Ireland, read more made it all all the more interesting and fun. The itinerary was well planned and organised.

We met such great people on the tour. A good mix from all over the world and different age groups made it very enjoyable. I cannot recommend this tour and CIE tours enough. The cherry on the cake would definitely be if Liam is your tour director. Thanks CIE for making this trip unforgettable, we are already looking at options to book your Scotland tours in the near future.
Great tour of Ireland 1 , United States, Apr 2018
Our tour guide, Kevin, was great!! This was a great tour. We were sceptical about it, especially since we'd never booked a tour like this, but it was fantastic! We agree that a huge reason this tour was so fun was because of Kevin's charm and natural ability to teach (and I don't necessarily like to learn). I feel like I know more about Irish history read more than American history, but not because it was forced; it naturally happened as Kevin drove us across the amazing Irish countryside. By the way - we thought we'd be the only folks under 60 ... Nope ... Lots of great people from all walks of life!!
Fabulous tour 1 , Australia, Dec 2017
Wow what a fabulous tour we had. Tom our tour guide was FANTASTIC. We had gale force winds but Tom still managed to make us all smile. On our return home we noticed that we were missing a few items we had brought on the last day of our tour. (We didnÆt return home till just before Christmas and then had Christmas break etc). I contacted the Dublin office read more and they have gone far and above what most would do and contacted Tom to ask if he found anything which he had and he had left them at the last hotel. Martin in the Dublin office has since sent someone to the hotel to collect our things and they have now put them in the post to us. We couldnÆt be more happier with this outcome. I would recommend CIE tours to anyone. Also all of the accommodation was great, lovely and clean and comfortable. Thank you again for the great memories.

Everything was perfect 1 , Switzerland, Aug 2017
Great Taste of Ireland Tour. Everything was perfect, and our guide was really good, funny and told us great stories all along the way. I was a little bit scared to go alone, but I've met a really nice and friendly group from Canada who adopted me for the week :) we were also very lucky with the weather.
Wonderful tour with a fabulous guide 1 , Australia, May 2016
We had a fabulous tour guide Matt. He was a wonderful driver, we were amazed at his backing skills, he gave a very interesting commentary, he was patient, kind and amusing. He is an asset to CIE - they should give him a raise! Tour was wonderful and we will certainly book again and strongly recommend CIE Tours to others. We have done many coach tours but this one was the best.
