Embarkation from 4:00pm
Cologne greets you with winter charm, even if December temperatures rarely dip below freezing. After boarding, take your time exploring the elegantly decorated AMADEUS ship before the crew welcomes you with a festive cocktail. Later, our chef presents an exclusive AMADEUS welcome dinner, a delicious prelude to your magical winter cruise. Late in the evening, the ship sets sail toward Koblenz.
Passing the Lorelei
Before breakfast, your ship arrives in Koblenz. Discover the romantic city on a guided walking tour, taking in the festive spirit of the old town. Then, your journey continues through the enchanting Middle Rhine Valley, past the legendary Loreley rock. Even in winter, this stretch of the Rhine is captivating – and rightly considered one of the most beautiful!
In the late afternoon, arrive in Rüdesheim. After a short ride on the Winzerexpress, begin a walking tour of the picturesque town. In the historic heart, the world-famous Drosselgasse awaits with its traditional wine taverns and unique charm. Explore the Adler Tower and remnants of the medieval city walls and fortifications from the 15th century. After dinner, the AMADEUS continues south, while you toast the season with a cozy onboard mulled wine party.
Christmas Market in Heidelberg
Wake to the festive atmosphere of Speyer at breakfast. Take an excursion to the historic city of Heidelberg, where you can stroll through the romantic Christmas market, admire regional handicrafts, and enjoy mulled wine and gingerbread.
After lunch, explore Speyer itself, once one of the most important cities of the Holy Roman Empire. Here, too, a charming Christmas market awaits. Let the day end in relaxed comfort, soaking in the pre-Christmas spirit before your evening departure toward France.
Winter Wonders in Alsace
This morning, Strasbourg welcomes you with its signature holiday magic. Explore the charming surrounding villages and experience the romantic ambiance of Obernai, or visit the famous Freiburg Christmas market.
In the afternoon, Strasbourg itself is yours to discover. On an extended city tour, admire the historic European city at its finest. During the Advent season, its festively decorated shops and streets shine with a captivating glow. A visit to the Strasbourg Christmas market is of course included. End the day with a warming punch, soaking up the romantic holiday atmosphere, before an exclusive onboard gala dinner. Your AMADEUS ship stays overnight in Strasbourg.
Disembarkation after breakfast
Today it's time to say “au revoir.” After a hearty breakfast, the crew will assist you with disembarkation as you begin your journey home from Strasbourg. On behalf of the entire AMADEUS team, we wish you a safe trip and a joyful, peaceful holiday season!
