Best of California's National Parks

This was my 2nd Intrepid tour. This tour focused on Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite national parks. We had an enthusiastic Tour Leader who provided clear and informative information. This tour has a few hikes but is graded Level 2 whereas the Utah Hiking tour I also did with Intrepid was Level 3 - you notice the difference, slower pace, walks more read more than hikes. We had great weather on this tour, our day at Yosemite was wonderful, blue skies, sunshine 25C and lots of waterfalls. We were lucky to see a bear on this trip as well as deer and lots of squirrels and chipmunks. A nice drive around the highlights of San Francisco to end the tour.
Fantastic trip through key places in Uzbekistan. Saw a lots of amazing buildings and heard much of the country’s very rich history. Lovely local people everywhere who were very friendly to our tour group. The local silks, paintings and ceramics were inexpensive and gorgeous. Our tour guide Hamza was a star!

This trip exceeded our expectations. Tour guide went beyond to help everyone and the tour was very professional. Only negative is homestay component which should be dropped but otherwise tour was exceptional.
This was my 1st tour with Intrepid and my 1st ever hiking trip. This was an excellent trip with an enthusiastic and energetic Tour Leader. 12 travellers from 6 countries, ages ranging from 35-72 - a great group of people. I was the least experienced hiker but I really enjoyed all the national parks we visited, each park is different with different hikes. read more The Tour Leader took us on more hikes than the itinerary listed but we were all ok with that. Full on days, sometimes departing at 7am. We were very lucky with fabulous weather. Antelope Canyon (an optional extra) was the highlight and really, you have to do this. Bryce Canyon was my next favourite - we had light snow about 5pm, very exciting for the Aussies. I had previously visited this area with a Trafalgar Tours trip in 2016 but as you only get a short amount of time at the parks I knew I wanted to return and do the parks "in depth" which this tour certainly delivered.
Loved this tour. It was very cold, but Intrepid made sure we were supplied with necessary outer wear for our comfort. Our guide Gigi was extremely organised and attentive. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience winter in Finland.
This tour was very interesting and another great Intrepid tour. The highlight was the Taj Mahal. We had a really good group of people on the tour and our guide Prahlad was very organised.
Bungy jumping was for me a dream for many years, adding white water rafting over 7 m waterfall (and not capsizing) including body surfing over another waterfall was great fun. Must definitely mention the tour guide George for his professionalism, huge amount of information provided and constant care and attention to our various changing needs.
A good mix of travellers from Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, Austria and Mongolia. Saw and learned a lot about Tasmania's beautiful scenery and wildlife. Accommodation is average with no wifi in the room. Food was average. It was a "one-man show" meaning the tour guide was also the driver, therefore, missed out on his scenic commentary as read more he was driving and we limit ourselves asking him questions so that he may concentrate on his driving. The van was old and broke down. Did not get a replacement van till 12pm which means half a day wasted! Intrepid was thoughtful to treat us an "apology meal".
I had a great time, although it was hard going at times. I booked the basic trip to North and South India so we travelled for much of the time with the locals! Most of the hotels were far better than I expected and the two Intrepid leaders were absolutely first class and very much on the ball with all details and support.
I would have no hesitation read more in recommending the 37 day Intrepid trip to people of all ages. I am 78, and I wondered if I would be able to keep up with all those 20 year olds. However, I need not have worried, as there were many older people as well, and we all managed the trip and survived! Global Journeys provided excellent service re the booking and my queries.

This tour covers the 2 things Cambodia is known for - Killing Fields in khmer Rouge period and Angkor wat. It does this well. Tour was well organised and our tour guide was great.
The Intrepid Portuguese Camiño trip was very enjoyable; a great bunch of fellow walkers, an outstanding tour leader, and well thought out itinerary. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking to do a Camino trip. The walking wasn’t difficult but we did have to walk approximately 20kms each day. Most of the accommodation was very good. Global Journeys read more made the booking very easy.

Scotland's Shetland Islands

I booked an Intrepid tour of the Shetlands via Global Journeys. Sam at Global was excellent to deal with. There were a number of issues with Intrepid and Sam worked really hard to try to resolve them. The Shetland tour itself was excellent (although the fitness rating is way off, much higher level of fitness required than stated). The guide Doug, made read more the tour. I wouldn’t use Intrepid again because of the problems myself and others on the tour experienced, however I would definitely use Global Journeys again. Five stars for Global & three for Shetland tour (lost stars due to issues with Intrepid).
Intrepid provided a wonderful guide in Joseph. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We had a great group of 9 travellers on the Premium Iceland tour and accommodation was of a high standard. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights which was on my “bucket list” with visits to all the main attractions across Iceland. Would highly recommend the read more Intrepid Premium trip of Iceland as well as Georgie from Global Journeys who booked this trip for us.
The intrepid tour was great. It was a full group of 16 which made some of the transport options a bit tight, but generally it was smooth. The hotels were pretty good, breakfasts amazing and scenery was outstanding. It was a great way to get an overview of parts of the country without having to think about how to get places. The time of year was great- read more was hot but not overbearing.
We had a good mix of ages from mid twenties to mid seventies. It is a real life experience. Go with an open mind and make the best of what is on offer. Do not expect all the mod cons as the title suggests "Wild Mongolia".
A great holiday although the sleeping pods on the Ferry were not ideal, prefer cabins for such an overnight trip. In addition we were unable to access our accommodation till 2pm which meant a lot of outdoor walking following a lousy night sleep on that first day. Some of the hikes were challenging, should probably be rated 3 out of 5 in terms of read more effort rather than the advertised 2.
This was the first time i had travelled with Intrepid and while I found it different with the different forms of transport and more walking involved I found it very informative. Some of the places we stayed at were a bit challenging because of my age(68) and the steps involved. But with the help of our tour leader who had everything organised and my read more fellow travellers I managed to get through and enjoy myself as best I could. On the whole, I would say it is a younger and more fitter persons trip but that's my opinion.
Perfect tour to see the varied landscapes of Mongolia - it's not just desert. The locals were welcoming and the tour guide and drivers saw us through some long drives-be prepared for some off road experiences.
This trip did not disappoint in showcasing Turkeys great diverse food. It also showed the history and culture of the country. The tour guide went above and beyond to make everyone's trip enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour.
Loved this trip. Our tour leader was the best and everything happened seamlessly and effortlessly thanks to Erhards fantastic planning and organisation. I was very happy with the accommodation and all the activities provided and I loved the countries we visited. I would travel with intrepid again, particularly with your leaders of the same calibre as Erhard.
