Thanks Intrepid. Booking with a company we had never used before we were slightly concerned at the lack of (tiny) details (prior to the trip), but true to our agent at Global Journeys, Hannah and Intrepid made it all look easy. I know what it's like wrangling parties of 10 or more (like herding fleas), but our group was always on time for meet ups, read more and our guide, Valentina Lorrasu was absolutely brilliant. It was her first tour with Intrepid, but she had researched our trip in great detail and was not only great at 'mothering us' along, but she handled some out-of-left-field issues with great aplomb. This was also our first overseas trip since 2019 (COVID), and we came home feeling we had received outstanding value for money, great hotels, terrific food and the sights around Sicily were a treat. Thanks Global Journeys, Intrepid and Valentina - terrific combination of professionals.

Treasures of Galapagos: Western & Central Islands (Grand Queen Beatriz)

Our trip to the Galapagos Islands was one that was long planned and eagerly awaited, and proved to be everything we had hoped. We had decided that, since we were only going to be there once in our lives, we should spend as much time as we could. I wondered whether the 10 nights on the Grand Queen Beatrix might prove too much, but it was fantastic, read more and every day brought a new experience. The wildlife was spectacular and much of it incredibly tame. The opportunity to snorkel every day had us swimming with sea lions, penguins, white-tipped sharks and a huge variety of colourful fish. The unique land and marine iguanas were impressive and birdlife was prolific. Every island was somewhat different and beautiful in its own way.
Intrepid’s Grand Queen Beatrix was a lovely small ship and we were pleased that we had booked one of the balcony rooms. It allowed more air into the cabin and a place to dry wet clothes. The rooms did not have a lot of storage and we ended up with one of us living out of a suitcase, but that worked fine and was not a problem. The crew were wonderful and the guides excellent, food was delicious, healthy and plentiful, which we needed because the high level of activity every day meant increased appetites. We were only filled to capacity (16 pax) for a few days of the trip and our fellow passengers were great company.
The tour included one additional night both before and after the Islands in Quito at Le Parc Hotel. We also booked 2 further nights before and 3 after at Le Parc and made good use of them doing the hop-on/hop-off bus and day trips with to the Mindo Cloud Forest to see hummingbirds and tucans, and Mitad Del Mundo where the equator passes through the outskirts of Quito. We did all these tours with the Quito Tour Bus (quitotourbus.com) which proved good value for money. We also went up the Telerifico Cable Car with expansive views down over Quito and spent a couple of hours in the wonderful Botanic Gardens just one block from the hotel.
I had originally thought I might book a different hotel in the “old town”, but was very glad I had not. Although Le Parc was some distance from the old centre of Quito, it was a comparatively safe area and very cheap to get anywhere by taxi.
For anyone contemplating going to Galapagos Islands and Ecuador, my advice is to do an Intrepid cruise for as many nights as you can afford, and add a couple of extra nights in Quito, where there is much to see and do.

Booking through Global Journeys was a smooth process. This tour gave me new experiences and adventure. My room in Nick's Pension Hotel, Ubud, had ants and cockroaches! The remaining hotels are of average standard. Our tour guide was helpful and approachable.
In India anything is possible. If you go with an open mind and just enjoy the differences from your home country, you will love this glimpse into India. Accommodation was clean and comfortable more so than premium but locations usually close to sights. Plenty of food available and options for those who didn’t want the local delicacies all the time. read more India is organised chaos at times but throughly enjoyable. If you are unsure, just book this trip and go. Embrace it.
This turned out to be a fantastic trip. Although I had some initial doubts after we landed in Mumbai. Mumbai is a very busy place and as such quite dirty but well worth seeing. The trip got better the more we explored. The red forts, the Taj Mahal and the many lakes were amazing. The food took a little bit of getting used to but over all was good. Nice read more to have some authentic Indian curries.
We enjoyed a wonderful holiday on our Intrepid premium tour of India arranged by Global Journeys. The indian people are so friendly, happy and content. Our guide Yaddu was amazing, his wealth of knowledge on the history of the towns we visited and the architecture was unlimited. Thoughly recommend this wonderful country.

First and foremost Hannah at Global Journeys was AMAZING! Quick to respond to every single minute question I had and every time with a servile happy attitude. Many others on the trip booked Haka tours through other people and complained about some small issues. I had zero! Every single thing we planned happened (aside from one weather related excursion.) read more I will definitely book through you guys again!
Just returned from this fantastic cycling trip. Maisie was amazing, prompt, efficient, accurate and professional in making the booking for me. Some others who used different agents did not have final details of transfers communicated to them. The Global journeys website and Maisie's documentation meant my trip went without a hitch. I had done the same read more trip with a different company in 2014. The difference in population growth, motor bike numbers, scale of tourism development and the number of tourists in Vietnam was astounding.
On this trip the guide (and also his support crew) was fantastic, organised, super attentive to each persons needs, good fun, careful with clear instructions. The route was different to last time and although could have been challenging was very doable. Being a cyclist/tourer who has done many trips over the years I am finding people who ride electric bikes (because they think they can) can be challenging to a cyclists e.g. I have to wait till all the e-bike problems are sorted, trying to predict when they will turn their motor assist on so as to keep out of the way, not being aware of when to change gears (gears first THEN motor!!! NOT just turn up the motor) and when the electric bike riders get tired on a long day of say 80km they tend to ride faster which unnecessarily ups the pace. I will go to my grave with this complaint until all hire e-bikes are upgraded to torque sensors.
I thoroughly recommend the trip. NEVER be afraid to stop & take photos. March/April is the time of year to do this trip. Cool in the North and warms as you progress south. Accommodation was as expected great. Just don't expect every hotel to cater for the minority of Western tourists. Traffic looks like bedlam, but all over Asia & the subcontinent I feel safer riding than in Australia because traffic 'just works' without the need for regimented rules and each vehicle driver is considerate and mindful of other road users of ALL types. Friendly beeps to let you know there is traffic around is NOT aggressive like in Australia and road rage is never seen. Again thoroughly recommend Global Journeys, I thank Maisie and recommend this cycling trip with Intrepid. Just watch Intrepid's (in my opinion) 'unaustralian' way of increasing the price of the trip as it fills up - Dutch auction approach. Check Global Journeys website.

I'd really rather you didn't go there and make it more "peopley" but - this tour, the tour guide we had and Iceland were epic, amazing, outstanding beautiful, absolutely awesome. This is a second to none destination in my opinion and this tour gives you a great starting glimpse of a wonderfully diverse country. The tour is perfect to get you started read more on an addiction to this country and it's people.
Our guide, Stefano, was one in a million......just enough care to keep you safe without smothering the life out of you, just enough running commentary that you're informed but not bored to death by a guide that won't shut up. Do the tour - you won't regret it. I will be back, I will be there for a lot longer and I'm very tempted to never come home!

This was Intrepid at its best. Great tour leader Nova, well balanced itinerary and an excellent range of accommodation. I loved the blend of free time with included activities. It exceeded my expectations.

Such a great experience. I really enjoyed all aspects if the tour, it was all part of the adventure. Our Intrepid guides, Tuan in Vietnan and Ly in Cambodia went above and beyond to make sure every went smoothly.
I would highly recommend the Premium Northern Thailand tour - the accomodation was great. Our tour leader, Katie (Thai Name: Lalada) was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour! I was originally hesitant, as I was travelling alone, but it was pretty safe and fun to travel with the small group of up to a maximum 12 people. Overall, I thoroughly read more enjoyed the trip with my tour mates and was impressed with the accommodation, the food, the places we visited and the tour dynamics. Would definitely recommend.

The staff at Global Journeys have always been helpful and ensured from start to finish of our booking we are well provided with important information to ensure our holiday goes smoothly. We had an excellent guide for our cycling holiday as well as a great driver of our van, both from South Australia and passionate about their State. We traveled in November read more and had perfect weather for our trip, however the following week Adelaide experienced flooding, so this time of the year can be unpredictable. Accommodation was very good, breakfast was included, two mornings we were given breakfast in our room a very cheap option for an expensive holiday.
The tours were interesting and well organized. Accommodation was carefully selected to be low cost but at least 3 star. The breakfasts provided were good quality. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. I especially enjoyed climbing Mount Batur, and the snorkelling on the Bali National Park at Menjangan Island. Our group visited many places read more not seen by the usual foreign tourist. I am glad that I went on both tours.

First time booking with Global Journeys. Hannah Campbell was a very helpful and a great travel agent who replied immediately in all email communications. She made booking with Intrepid at ease. Definitely recommend Global Journey to future travellers, family and friends. My family and I had an incredible time on the tour meeting people from different parts of the world.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 day tour of Tasmania. Our guide was very generous with his amazing knowledge of history and the natural environment. Would book Intrepid tours again!
Our “Best of Italy” tour with Intrepid Travel was fabulous. We went to so many wonderful places on this tour & our tour leader, Lucrezia, was wonderful throughout our tour. After 4 previous trips Thailand I thought I had an understanding of the culture and way of life, how wrong I was! My recent tour 'Beautiful Northern Thailand' introduced (or should I say our magnificent knowledgeable tour guide Wrong), showed us just what the real Thailand is.
Now don't get mistaken, the tour is onerous. much walking and hiking thru read more thick jungle and up some steep hills, but it's all worth it even if it's just to relax and catch your breath in hilltribe village house. Did you know that Thailand was once Siam and consisted of Burma, Cambodia and Thailand. once "up north" you are immersed in the history and diversified cultures that now co-exist there. I won't spoil your thunder, you must try it, but get a little physically fit first .

Good itinerary for seeing the main highlights in Jordan. Would have been nice to include Wadi Mujib in the itinerary. Also the starting point hotel is quite awful, especially compared to the other hotels.
