Great mix of capitals and quiet towns 1 Baltic Adventure , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
Great way to travel in a small group with a young enthusiastic tour leader. Loved the three night stay on the island off Estonia. Some hotels basic but the price reflects this. They were all comfortable.
An unforgettable holiday!   1 Essential Vietnam & Cambodia , VIC, Australia, Jun 2018
There were many memorable moments on this G Adventures trip: 'Essential Vietnam and Cambodia'. Some of the best highlights included: the overnight cruise on the tranquil Halong Bay surrounded by breathtaking scenery, kayaking and swimming in it's waters, the motorbike trip through the backstreets and in the countryside of Hue City, overnight train read more journey, cycling around Hoi An countryside, the noodle making class, shopping at the local markets, visiting Angkor Wat at sunrise and the many amazing temples, Cambodia's countryside ... and many more special moments captured on camera. Our small group encountered so many friendly locals and dined at restaurants as well as street food outlets - It’s was all about atmosphere and ambience! We had a wonderful guide, Bun, who loves his job and his country (Cambodia) and made us love it too.
A great tour of China and Japan 2 Beijing to Tokyo: The Great Wall & Mt Fuji , WA, Australia, May 2018
Visited both China and Japan, the tour was well organised and saw wonderful sights. Accommodation was good and even had a stay in a monastery and a spa. Foods were great having both restaurant and street foods. Fully recommend to others.
Wonderful Introduction to Japan 2 Japan Express – Osaka to Tokyo , VIC, Australia, Apr 2018
This tour was a fantastic introduction to Japan, its culture and cities. The highlights for me were Hiroshima and Miyajima although Koyasan was very spiritual. I would definitely return to Japan again and explore other places.
Fabulous way to see Japan 2 Back Roads of Japan , NSW, Australia, Apr 2018
Our G Adventures 'Backroads of Japan' was a wonderful experience. Our CEO Kiyoe was very friendly, knowledgeable and helped us with all aspects of the journey including assisting us with transportation details when we had independent time.
We had three days in Tokyo, which gave us an opportunity to meet with other group members. We went to Takayama, read more Kurashiki, Nagano and Kyoto. We learned about the culture and history of Japan and relevant information about each region we visited. Staying in a ryokan was a unique experience and the meals provided were highlights.

Another great benefit was that this tour usually runs with up to 15 people. We were fortunate to have only six people in our group. Overall, it was a very rewarding experience. I enjoyed the variety of transport used, with the shinkansen trips a highlight. Yvonne Brooks at Global Journeys was very helpful and I would not hesitate to contact her regarding another tour.
Discover India   2 Journeys: Discover India , VIC, Australia, Mar 2018
This was a fantastic tour, which easily exceeded our expectations. The itinerary is well designed, and while you can’t see everything in 2 weeks, it does tick most of the boxes. The use of domestic flights does remove some of the drudgery of all day trips, although you are paying extra for this of course. Flying in India does consume a fair chunk of read more the day still, but is obviously more relaxing overall.

Our guide was exceptional and very experienced. He carefully planned the schedule each day and often made minor modifications and adjustments, all of which were improvements. He always got the consent of the group before making any changes. A couple of the extra highlights he arranged were getting us into the Taj Mahal first, with a professional photographer, so we all got individual people-free photos in front of the Taj, which is no mean feat. He also organised two musicians (sitar and tabla), to accompany us on our dawn boat ride on the Ganges, which was a magical experience. He knew many good restaurants - paying as you go for most meals was good, because you don’t always feel like a big meal.

The pace of the tour may be a bit demanding in the first week, with 4 or 5 consecutive early starts, but if you examine the itinerary, you can see these are all worthwhile. Overall, it’s fine and there is good variation in the tour, both in sightseeing and travel mode. Our small group of 13 all got along very well and the provided buses and local guides were all great.

Being a National Geographic version of a G Adventure tour did seem to make the whole experience more comfortable and informative, while still having many opportunities to connect with local people. The small town visit to Jojawar was very rewarding. The company’s commitment to assisting the local disadvantaged appeared quite genuine as well.

If you can manage it, I would suggest perhaps spending an extra day in Delhi, to check out some of the sights missed on this tour eg. Huyamans Tomb, Red Fort etc. Getting around Delhi by car is a real pain however, so either do this on Sunday when the roads are quieter (i.e. the last day of this tour), or use the modern Metro rail system.
Costa Rica Adventure 1 Costa Rica Adventure , New Zealand, Feb 2018
Had a fantastic time, lots and lots of fun. Some of the accommodation was a little basic with no hot water for showers. But I spent a lot of time out and about so it didn't bother me too much. Had an awesome group of people from around the world aging from 20 to 70.
Mojito moments   2 , QLD, Australia, Dec 2017
Thanks Global Journeys for indulging my last minute call for assistance in being put on stand by for this trip. It was so great to secure a spot and be able to join the tour to Cuba. Thanks to a great tour guide Carlos and our driver I had a wonderful experience.

The group I was travelling with, including an old friend, were great company. The read more core activities and optional extras were all well explained, accessible and realised my expectations of the Cuban experience. My favorite experience was an optional walk to the limestone caves. It was $20 for four hours with a wonderful guide and a chance to meet local farmers, hang out with climbers scaling limestone ridges and chill out in a field drinking an amazing grapefruit, honey, pineapple and rum drink served in the grapefruit with a straw.

A few people on the tour had tummy troubles and our hotel in Cuba did not have a great street presence. Clearly all part of the Cuba experience. It was so good not to see the chain stores or hotels and to discover the Cuban lifestyle through our home stays and tours. A really unique and thrilling experience.
Amatista Amazon Cruise 2 Amazon Riverboat Adventure In Depth , NSW, Australia, Nov 2017
This G Adventures Amazon River Cruise was a great experience. There was a variety of activities each day offering different experiences such as wildlife watching, community visits and swimming. The meals were excellent and the guides were very informative.
Wonderful trip, what a great way to taste Cambodia   1 Ultimate Cambodian Adventure , NSW, Australia, Oct 2017
Wonderful trip, well organised with an excellent guide Bernie who ensured we all meshed together and thoroughly enjoyed every moment in Cambodia. Angkor Wat temples were amazing and our day at the beach with scuba diving was another highlight of the tour.
Excellent trip - well organised, plenty of free time, and great logistical support 12 The Best of Eastern Europe , QLD, Australia, Oct 2017
We are generally independent travellers as we enjoy diving in deep to get to know the places we visit - the museums, the history, the culture and the food. We found the G Adventures Eastern Europe trip an excellent way of ensuring the logistical issues were handled painlessly (accommodation, transport between cities, basic orientation) and we had plenty read more of free time for our own explorations.

The standard of accommodation was at an appropriate level - 3 stars, so clean, safe, good wifi and avoids spending exorbitant amounts for simply a place to stay. But all hotels were well located in the various cities, and some were true local gems. Most of the intercity transport was by public train which was excellent. The group was a good size (14-15) and made up of all very compatible people of varying ages and interests. Sometimes we did activities during the day with some of the tour members who had similar interests, sometimes we undertook our own activities. Evening meals were frequently as a group but there were plenty of evenings when members did their own thing.

The tour CEO provided basic orientation to the relevant cities and some suggestions on activities and then we did our own thing. G Adventures included local guides in Warsaw and Vienna who were excellent and extremely informative. So, in summary, we found the tour provided us with an excellent balance of guidance and logistical support but freedom to pursue our own interests. We found it useful booking through Global Journeys so that we had a local contact point who can access a wide range of travel options - no doubt there will be many times in future we will use them for other adventures and trips.

Explore amazing Japan!   14 Discover Japan , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
This G Adventures Tour is highly recommended for first time travellers to Japan wishing to enjoy the highlights within a short time frame. Whilst the tour is guided, there is sufficient flexibility allowing for free time to discover popular sightseeing spots, shopping and restaurants independently or with fellow travellers. This fully escorted tour read more will take you by train all over Japan. I recommend extending your stay in Tokyo at the end of the tour so you can immerse yourself in the unique and fascinating culture of Japan.
Tourist Free Holiday 4 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2017
Iran holiday with G Adventures was great. March was a very comfortable time of the year to travel as temperatures were perfect for having to cover up. There were very few tourists in the country which made for very easy and relaxed sightseeing though of course the Tehran traffic is horrible.

The itinerary and travel distances were very sensible and read more we covered everything stated in the itinerary with a few good alternatives recommended by the group leader. The hotels chosen were all very good and by comparison the Tehran hotels we booked ourselves for extra time were dreadful. We were a small group of 10 and we didn't have any difficulty mixing as far as I'm aware. I thought that during the booking process Global Journeys were not well informed about the tour and seemed only interested in the payment.
Great tour 3 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2017
We visited fantastic places, and had excellent commentary from our tour guide; his knowledge of Iran was excellent. To complement visiting the very interesting places, our accommodation was good (clean, and well managed).
