Accommodation was great, food was excellent, pace of the tour was just right, good balance of activity and down time. Our tour director, Carolyn and driver Tom were the best, so friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt so much about Tassie, I have recommended this tour to all my friends, via Global Journeys of course as you provided the best value for read more money, we had such a good time and are looking forward to our next trip.

Great Ocean Road and Kangaroo Island Escape

The Great Ocean Road is beautiful and Kangaroo Island is spectacular, but Oceans and Islands is not really a premium tour. Two of the hotels (Country Comfort and Chardonnay Lodge) have horrible mattresses. Country Comfort had awful food. Chardonnay Lodge not much better. There was no wine tasting, which was on the itinerary, at Chardonnay Lodge. Some read more of the food at Aurora Ozone either wasn't fresh or wasn't cooked. We skipped Meningie, which is on the itinerary, with the explanation that 'you have an old itinerary and AAT/Kings has changed it.' Well, it was on the itinerary handed to me when I got on the coach and it's still on the website as being on the itinerary. Change is fine but when you're eating at a highway rest stop when you're expecting a scenic town you do wonder what's going on. Certainly we made our opinions known to AAT Kings in their evaluation form, but, in terms of Global Journeys promoting just that leg of the tour, I'd say to drop it or to downgrade it in terms of expectations until they beef it up with better hotels and an itinerary they can stick to. It gives the people who are on the whole tour (Sydney back to Sydney) a couple of slow days but it's too slow for just that one week and kind of a bit here and a bit there type experience. It would be better, if they can find a way to do it, to add more Adelaide, or skip it entirely, and to add more Kangaroo Island (which is truly amazing.) If they want to have a slow wander along the coast from beachtown to port and so on they should just eliminate Adelaide and stay at the Stamford in Glenelg instead and have a nice relaxing little beach stop before Kangaroo Island.
I didn't find this a Premium tour for a couple of reasons: one was that some of the food and hotels weren't very good and the other was that we didn't have porterage at a couple of hotels. Premium on the website specifies porterage. If I'd known we wouldn't have porterage I would have packed differently. The tour director was a nice guy and did a good job but he reeled off his commentary by rote...lots of facts and figures and dates with rare patches of enthusiasm. He also wasn't clear at times on where the coach would be to pick us up and stuff like that. There was no welcome message of any kind at the Melbourne hotel; we had the concierge call AAT Kings to confirm and they left him on hold for 20 minutes. I got him to call back and all I got was 'be in the lobby at 7:15', with nothing about where the oach would be or what to do with the bags. So please either ask AAT Kings to patch up the tour and make it a better experience or downgrade it from Premium. I wouldn't choose this particular tour again, I'd do a short Ocean Road tour from Melbourne and then fly to Adelaide and pick up a Kangaroo Island three or four day tour. It would cost more but it would have been more interesting. Sorry to be a downer, but AAT Kings should do some reworking to bring this tour up to a better standard.

Remarkable Adelaide to Kangaroo Island

Our Adelaide/Kangaroo Island tour was excellent and your Global Journeys Tour Consultant (Kirby O'Connor) was fantastic. Being of a certain age we had never booked anything like this online before but Kirby made everything so easy and was so efficient, it was a pleasure to deal with her. The Crowne Plaza hotel and staff were first class and the tour read more guides in Adelaide and Kangaroo Island were helpful and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.

We thought the driver (Paul) & Tour Manager (Mel) did a very good job to cater for the different age groups we had on the tour. The weather was in our favour as all the main attractions New Zealand had to offer on this tour came to the fore & plenty photographs were taken by all. We thought Global Journeys represented by Kirby, kept us informed of any read more changes made by the tour operator & it went as planned. Thank you for a hassle free holiday.

Susy and I enjoyed our West Coast Tasmanian tour although we couldn't go to some of the places affected by the fires (e.g Russell Falls). The tour director, the driver as well as our fellow passengers were excellent. Thanks a lot!

I was very impressed with my Global Journeys holiday to Sydney recently. The hotel and tour guide staff were very friendly and professional. All of the tour directions and commentary were excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. I thought the cost of my trip was definitely good value for money. Thank You Global Journeys I would book another holiday with you.
When I am on a tour I don't like free days. I would rather something was organized.

I completed a tour from Sydney to Cairns during November. We had some pretty nice stops (the Reef in Cairns was the best), but I could have done with some different excursions. Due to the distance we stopped for over night stays at some places that had nothing to do once we got there. Within the major areas we had a great time. The stays in Noosa and read more Cairns were my highlights. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave great insight along the way. Kirby (my consultant) was very helpful and professional. I needed her help and advice several times before the tour and she was able to help each time.

We were lucky to have fewer than 20 people on our AAT Kings tour of Tasmania. The tour itself was well paced, covered a lot of ground, and was varied in content. Our tour director Robin Gentle was very knowledgeable and informative. We appreciated the frequent stops. One criticism concerns our very short stay in Launceston, arriving late Sunday afternoon read more and leaving the following morning. Sunday evening in Launceston is dead, with few restaurants open. Perhaps the tour should be 10 nights to allow 2 nights in Launceston.

This was our first coach trip, and we found it very good. The AAT Kings tour covered well known tourist destinations plus many interesting places we had never heard of. The inclusions e.g. Queenstown train ride and the two cruises were great. Accommodation and meals were good/very good. The original guide (Caroline) was excellent, and despite an ankle read more injury stayed on for several days till a replacement (Ted) took over and kept things running smoothly. There was no stress, Darren the driver was good and everything ran like clockwork (including the airport transfers). We were very happy we went on this tour.

There was some discussion amongst our tour group about the claim of a nine day tour. The first day we were picked up from the airport and taken to a hotel. We briefly met the tour guide and had a drink with others on the tour. On the ninth day we departed the hotel at 0900 for the airport. I feel it is stretching it a bit to claim both those days as read more tour days. Other than that, a wonderful experience with a good group of people. Our tour guide and driver were excellent and very knowledgeable.

Have just completed the Western Escape tour of WA and had a great time. We covered a huge area in the 15 days which include everything you need/want to see from the beautiful coast line to the dusty gold fields & also some time to relax in between. Lots of laughs with the other passengers and being the youngest person on the tour it was great to see read more people from all walks of life and ages enjoying the experience together. The tour guide and bus driver were amazing. Thanks Gillian and Paul I don't think the tour would of been as great as it was without your friendly, professional and very well informed guidence. The coach was very clean, well air conditioned & really comfortable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit WA.
Early September was an excellent time to travel before the wet season starts and the higher temperatures and humidity start to become uncomfortable. Our tour Guide from AAT Kings, Gillian was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer any question. She also went out of her way to help anyone that needed assistance. The itinerary ran smoothly and to read more plan. The timing for this tour was also excellent as it was not too hot for the climbing & walking that was required to fully enjoy the different landscapes. Our coach driver Ralph was a very safe and cautious driver. We will definitely be booking our next holiday with Global Journeys. We will be recommending Global Journeys to all our friends.

Wonders of the Kimberley

Excellent tour, great crew. Beautiful landscapes and magnificent river cruises. Good accommodation in the outback and plentiful food (= too much!).
My tour, 'Best of the Kimberley' was simply amazing. I enjoyed the pace - necessarily long days were followed by easier ones. I was disappointed to find the optional tours so expensive, as one is almost forced into them - 'a once in a lifetime experience, so have to pay the money' - but of course, no regrets on having done them. I liked the number read more of meals included, providing one with the option to eat less in between, if desired! Our Tour Director, Caroline, was incredible. She always informed us of what to expect, when food, toilet stop, etc would next be available, possible problems to be aware of. She related to all types of people with friendliness and respect but still used the required pressure to keep us all on time and not missing anything. The information she passed on was relevant and educational. Highly recommended tour! :)
The tour was great, the hotels were up to standard apart from one hotel which didn't have enough heating especially when it was -8 degrees! Tour guide was very informative and always willing to help. Tour driver very good.
Would definitely book through Global Journeys again 3

Great places to visit, accommodation and food very good. Tour guide and coach driver excellent. Pace of trip was very good and the coach was very clean and comfortable. Only criticism would be that 2 roadhouse stops were very rushed, would have worked much better to have stopped in nearby towns and not being advised that ATMs did not take all cards read more at Fox Glacier, which did cause some passengers concern. Our tour consultant Kirby was excellent and very helpful and efficient. Would definitely book through Global Journeys again.
