Itinerary

As this Short Break departs at 7.00am, accommodation will need to be pre-booked for the previous night. On day one, depart Alice Springs and stop to view Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort.

This afternoon travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Marvel at the unique flora and witness a magnificent outback sunset while enjoying sparkling wine. Stay: Outback Hotel & Lodge, Desert Gardens Hotel or Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort (2 nights.)

Watch the sunrise at Uluru, and then travel to the 36 sandstone domes of Kata Tjuta. Spend time exploring Walpa Gorge and its unusual rock formations.

This afternoon, visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Then, join your tour guide for a drive around the base of Uluru. Continue to the Kuniya Walk, where you'll be escorted to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. View ancient Aboriginal cave paintings and learn about the Indigenous and European history of Uluru. In the late afternoon, experience the colour changes of Uluru as the sun sets over the world's largest monolith, while sipping sparkling wine. (D)

Travel through spectacular desert scenery from Ayers Rock Resort. Pass through Curtin Springs Station and view Atila (Mt. Conner). Stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station. Along the way your Driver Guide will provide informative commentary about the history of the surrounding cattle stations on the way to Kings Canyon. Keep a look out for wild horses and camel along the way.

Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park at sunrise. Follow the rim of the canyon stopping to look down into the canyon gorge at look-out points. Time permitting, you may choose to descend into the green oasis of the 'Garden of Eden'. The circuit walk takes approximately 3 hours to complete and is rocky and steep in parts. It is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to take an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder strewn canyon floor.

You’ll arrive at Kings Canyon Resort in time to relax and have lunch (on your own) before enjoying a spectacular sunset. In the summer months drinks are available for purchase at the sunset viewing area (cash only). Stay: Kings Canyon Resort, Standard Rooms or Deluxe Spa Rooms

Enjoy a sleep in and then have a relaxed breakfast a Carmichaels Restaurant. Around lunch time you will board your coach to transfer to Alice Springs. Along the way stop at Erldunda, a roadhouse located at the junction of the Stuart Highway and Lasseter Highway, where you can purchase afternoon tea. Travel along the Stuart Highway before arriving in Alice Springs.

Kata Tjuta, Uluru & Kings Canyon 1 , WA, Australia, May 2021
First time to join ATT King tour to Uluru which is different than normal group tour. The tour has different groups join in. They cancelled the Kata Tjuta Sunset in the first day is good, because the second day Sunset tour is the same thing! BBQ dinner was super! 4 days break is good enough. Spent a lot of time travel from Alice Spring to Uluru.
Kata Tjuta, Uluru & Kings Canyon 1 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
This was a great tour and well worth the expense. The guides/drivers were very professional and knowledgeable. Everything was well organised and went without a hitch. We especially enjoyed the Uluru tours and King's Canyon. We would recommend AAT Kings to others without reservation. All in all, it was a great way to see and experience the Australian Center.
