Once a large sheep estancia, the park was established in 1959 as the Parque Nacional Lago Grey. Prior to this, “baqueanos” (cowboys) grazed their flocks here and fires occasionally burnt out of control. More land was added to the park in 1962 and the name was changed to its present one. The “Torre” (Tower) Sur rises 2,900m (9,512 ft) above sea level, the Torre Central is 2,850m (9,348 ft) high, and the Torre Norte measures 2,600m (8,528 ft). Spectacular views and insightful experiences 0 , VIC, Australia, Dec 2025
Being a National Geographic Tour, the destinations lived up to expectations with magnificent views and we had a couple of educational lectures combined. Patagonia is a huge space and we covered a lot of distances quickly, thanks to the internal flights. Bus rides could be more spacious and comfortable, but great CEO from G Adventures and mostly very read more good to excellent hotels. Georgie as usual was highly efficient in organising this trip. Global Journeys' online system is an optimum mix of online self-service and available help from real humans for questions when needed. I would use this again.
Perfect holiday 1 , Singapore, Oct 2019
We took a trip to Patagonia with Global Journeys/G Adventures and it was the best we could ever have had. Everything was taken care of, the guides were great and went the distance to add on extras so we could experience what the locals did. Response was quick as well, thanks Jemma for the wonderful trip.
