Itinerary

Located on the Adriatic Sea, in the shadow of Mount Srdj, Dubrovnik boasts an Old Town showcasing Baroque and Renaissance architecture and is said to have had settlements dated prior to the Christian era. A stunning city in its own right, Game of Thrones chose this location for the King’s Landing. Keep an eye out for filming locations! Stay: Akademis Hotel Dubrovnik (D)

Kolocep is one of the Elaphiti islands, a peaceful archipelago just a stone’s throw from town. Set off on a hike and enjoy time in town before returning to Dubrovnik with free time to explore. Stay: Akademis Hotel Dubrovnik (B)

Mljet Island is famous for its clear waters and is a great location for swimming and snorkeling. Pomena has a number of highly rated restaurants if you’re looking to sample the local cuisine while enjoying the charming, coastal atmosphere. Stay: House Pomena Mljet (B)

Postira is home to Lazaric Castle and the Church of St John and is known for its local olive oil and wine production. Whet your tastebuds with the local specialties if you see fit. Stay: Hotel Pastura (B)

Dol is home to approximately a hundred inhabitants and is located a short two kilometers from Postira. Here you’ll have the opportunity to not only tour local caves, but also become acquainted with stone beehives popular in this region. Stay: Hotel Pastura (B/L)

Diocletian’s Palace took more than 10 years to construct and was built with white stone imported from the Island of Brač. It is a beautifully imposing Roman ruin and provides important insight into the history of Split. Šibenik is known for its main cathedral, four fortresses, and a historic old town. Stay: Hotel Jadran Šibenik (B)

Set off with your CEO to explore Krka National Park this morning. Hike through the lush forests, along the river, and enjoy a series of spectacular waterfalls before returning to Šibenik for a free evening and optional farewell dinner. Spend one final evening with your new friends before heading onward tomorrow. Stay: Hotel Jadran Šibenik (B)

  • It is important to note that accommodation in Europe tend to be quite different to other areas of the world you may have travelled in. Buildings and rooms are generally old and may not have been renovated or maintained to the highest standard. Downtown hotels in Europe were not built to be hotels but rich owners houses, which have been changed into hotels. Therefore unusual room sizes are common as large rooms have been partitioned in the past, resulting in rather "thin" walls. Reception areas, rooms and bathrooms tend to be very small as they were often added into an existing room, and may have a hand nozzle rather than a conventional shower head.
  • On this trip you can expect to stay in small family-run hotels (with the exception of the start and finish hotels, which are often larger city hotels), which will vary a little in standard and facilities: some may not have elevators, air-conditioning or English-speaking staff, but most importantly all are locally-run, with some traditional character, and in excellent central locations to give you maximum time for exploring the sights. You can expect to find clean, safe, simple accommodation in convenient locations.
  • Note that most accommodation in Europe does not have air conditioning units in rooms. Air conditioning is not routinely installed in European homes and workplaces. However, nearly all hotels will provide a standing or desk fan for your room on hot nights. If you do not already have one in your room, please ask your CEO to organize one for you with reception.
