Experienced a wide and diverse slice of China 6

The tour was in two parts with the first being China. The group size was 34 which was about optimum size as some buses utilised had only one door exit. The group was comprised of 2/3 Australian nationality however there were 3 couples who had emigrated from the UK. It was interesting that there were about 4 couples who winged about the lack of non Asian read more food options which we thought strange as it was obvious that we were touring an Asian country. There were some who also complained about the constant on the move requirements of the tour which again we thought it demonstrated a lack of understanding of the itinerary. We loved the the fact that we were able to experience a wide and diverse slice of China and certainly liked the fact that we were on the go.
In particular our tour leader ( Tony) ensured that we we had a wonderful Great Wall experience venturing to a point involving a 1 1/2 hour bus trip necessitating an early departure. A great call on the leaders part as we were one of the first to arrive at this section of the wall. There were grumbles from some tour participants about an early rise, quite unjustified we believe. The Yangtze cruise was excellent but would recommend that all of your future clients be advised of the need to have the upgrade as this is money well spent. The surprise extra on this part of our holiday was the water town that we stayed at which is about 2 hours from Shanhai. We were impressed with our Travelmarvel tour leader who demonstrated a very professional and caring approach to all tour members despite the aforementioned wingers.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Vietnam and the Mekong cruise to Siem Reap. The ship was superb in all facets but again you could not be on the advertised 00 deck. We upgraded to deck 1 which would be the minimum to really enjoy the cruise. The elements of the cruise that stood out was the food, the staff and the on shore experiences. The Mekong cruise was special! We should also mention the accommodation in Siem Reap (Shinta Mani) I was moved to write a very favourable TripAdvisor review. In particular we had an airport pickup from the hotel/ resort at 3 pm along with 12 others, all guests were offered a checkout of 3 pm. I have written to Travelmarvel to say how much we appreciated this gesture by the hotel/ resort manager.

Tour guide and driver were excellent! They were very upbeat and made the trip run smoothly. Michelle at Global Journeys made everything so easy I would definitely recommend her/them.

Majestic Mekong Cruise

Overall everything was excellent. Just a couple of things which may help. The shopping time was very short, 15mins, except in the grand plaza Phnom Penh which was about 45-60mins. Early morning Tai Chi or Yoga classes on deck would have been great. Or one which relates to the area that is being visited. I was aware that extra accommodation could be read more arranged either side of the cruise but not tours, so additional information on that would have been great. I do think the staff on board are over worked and are expected to work very long hours with 10-11 month shifts, I know that it is considered a privileged job with good pay but I would also feel comfortable knowing that they do receive free time to visit family and relax. With the name tags each person should be asked their preferred name, my husband hasn't been called Gregory for 50 years. I noticed some people had preferred names, perhaps I overlooked that question so apologies if I did. I will definitely consider travelling with Travelmarvel again.

Very good value for money. Enjoyed our holiday immensely, however shore excursion were all divided into four equal groups with one exception where there was the opportunity to go 'fast walking tour'. This was excellent for us and similar active guests who found the other tours slow paced. This option should have been available on all excursions. There read more was also not enough room in the lounge for everyone to sit comfortably.

European Gems - Paris to Prague

We were under the impression that all optional tours were included. But we went on a few they were great. Tour Guide Petra was amazing. Her enthusiasm and her Bing Bong Ding Dong got every one involved. Even when they thought we couldn't go down the Danube because of a stuck freighter she kept our spirits up. All went well and we had a marvellous trip.
Excellent trip which gave us a "feel" for each location. We would have liked to spend more time at some of the locations and will endeavour to do so in the future via a coach trip or a self-drive holiday. While the ship, staff and overall management of the cruise was excellent, we were slightly disappointed with being unable to access the sun deck for read more 5 of the 15 cruising days. Also, some of the mooring and hotel locations were away from city centres which made it hard to arrange something worthwhile to do during free times. Our travel agent (Georgie) handled our booking in a very professional manner such that we would not hesitate to use her Global Journeys again sometime in the future.

Essential Vietnam and Cambodia

Everything was great, accommodation in 2 hotels and on La Marguerite, staff were friendly and helpful, and keen to exercise their English, guides were very knowledgeable and amusing. Weather was hot and humid but we expected that in the rainy season. Overall, a most enjoyable trip.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. So many fabulous places and things to see. Tour guide and coach driver were very knowledgeable and attentive to all passengers. Tour inclusions such as river cruises and glass bottomed boat cruise were fabulous.

Global Journeys and Travel Marvel made our holiday thoroughly enjoyable. The overall service from booking the holiday and experiencing the river cruise lifestyle was everything we thought it would be and more. The tour director Petra was fantastic and the entire staff on board were extremely helpful and courteous. The excursions we're very informative read more and the locations lovely. Amsterdam, Germany and the Austrian Lake District were our high lights. Definitely value for money.
Thank you for your help. Our independent leg to Croatia also went well and we found a company that does small group, or in our case, just a couple, transfers to Split from Budapest.

Our cruise was made with another couple. Leading up to the cruise four of us traveled through EU with a hire car /B&B for 18 days. Our whole experience was 5 weeks via an anti clockwise direction journey starting and finishing in Amsterdam. It was good to unpack 'once' when we boarded the boat at Budapest. The cruise was excellent and our prior research read more was confirmed that Travelmarvel is an excellent value and service option for the Danube/Rhine. On the second night we happened to dine with two ladies from APT and they were very interested in our observations and again they confirmed that the TravelMarvel style market segment is well positioned and is growing solidly. We can see why! We did have to do a 'boatswap' at Passau - bused to Nuremberg, due to low water levels in the Main Canal. This was expertly and professionally handled (Diamond Jewel). Cruise director was excellent and the ships personnel very well attuned to passenger needs. Thanks Hannah and Global Journeys for your well organised assistance leading to the trip.
Float plane optional excursion 7
Reflections of the Rockies and Alaska Cruise

Float plane from whistler to Victoria is the best optional excursion we paid for. We were left behind to catch up with our sleep while other people caught the coach to Victoria. When the schedule flight time comes, we just jumped in the plane and it only took 120mins to get to Victoria. The float plane flew low enough to view the glacier and other scenery. read more We even did a whale watching excursion in Victoria while waiting for others.

Select tours offered but not of interest. Food was excellent. Wine quality included was adequate but premium wine available needs review. I bought a bottle that had obviously been exposed to heat. The premium collection if it is to be offered needs to be kept in a wine fridge.

A relaxing and pleasant way to see this part of Europe. The cruise director, Herbert, was excellent, as were all the staff. They were incredibly attentive and helpful at all times. We really enjoyed the Budapest Illumination experience. as well as the numerous stops in so many cities and villages. The ship was very comfortable. The food was copious read more and nicely presented. Overall, a very lovely experience and a wonderful way to travel, as it avoided the packing and moving constantly.

Our feedback is the trip was very good except there was very little commentary as it was a replacement guide and if this had been made public knowledge we could have been more understanding. We had a driver who had done this tour two years ago so he had some knowledge so that is really the only commentary we received. Surely this company has notes or read more some form of knowledge to pass to a replacement guide. Tom Price mines accommodation was very poor. We didn't even have hot water and it really no better than a backpackers . All other accommodation and food was really nice. Back to the beginning is most people go on a tour for the commentary. We were very happy with the service from you. Thank you.

We had the best holiday. Everything went smoothly. We loved not having to worry about our luggage etc. Hotels were awesome especially the last hotel we stayed in as it had a washing machine in our room. We were able to get all our washing done before the cruise. Most hotels were within walking distance to the shops ,pubs and restaurants or there were read more buses or shuttles available to attractions etc. Tourists are definitely catered for. The service was friendly everywhere. This is our first ever tour that we haven't organised ourselves and there are definitely pluses travelling this way. We are hopefully once my husbands medical issues are taken care of to do a Europe river cruise in the future. We would definitely travel through Global Journeys / Travelmarvel again. Thanks to Yvonne for organising our trip and helping out with any information we required in a timely manner.
Some days we were provided with 3 large meals - 4 or 5 courses for lunch and dinner, this was too much food and wastage. Other days we were only provided with one meal. It would be better if we were provided with at least 2 meals every day and if there are 3, they should not all be so large. Particularly given that we were traveling in poor countries read more it was very difficult to see food being wasted when we were provided with too much. Otherwise an excellent trip, Chung was very helpful with a wide variety of requests from different travellers.

Super trip, great scenery, day trips were extremely good value the visit to the evening of classical music is something not to be missed perhaps it should be included as a standard trip for everyone. The Prague extension was great I could have spent many more days there, perhaps another day.

As we had never traveled with Travelmarvel before & knowing they were the lesser cost of APT we weren't sure what to expect . Arriving in Prague 2 days before our land tour was to start we were extremely pleased with the quality of hotel, modern, clean, well positioned. Meet & greet meeting we met Nick our tour guide,over the next 10 days he was The read more BEST guide we have ever traveled with, one couple were a day late due to their plane cancelling, Nick in his own time took them for a private tour of Prague. Nick continued to display his professionalism & unbelievable knowledge throughout the tour. 10/10. Over the coming 10 days tours, hotels etc couldn't be faulted.
