Couldn't have been better.     7 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2017
Having always organised our own trips and never having done a tour in a bus with others, we were nervous. However from day one everything was excellent and kept getting better! We can't praise our tour guide Mat and the driver Emanuel too highly. They were professional but fun. Their knowledge of the areas was a major factor and the organisation for ...read more each day went as smoothly as clockwork. Mind you our group of 13 could take some of the credit!

The itinerary was beautifully planned. When you thought it couldn't get any better, it did. The accommodation was always in wonderful locations and the rooms spacious and comfortable, All meals were excellent. The unexpected inclusions and the variety of activities were amazing. We initially thought the price was reasonable but came to think it was excellent value. We were looked after right up to the moment of boarding the cruise ship.

This also applies to our pre trip booking. Yvonne was the epitome of patience and helpfulness. Thank you Yvonne and Bunnik / Global Journeys. I've been singing your praises since returning home. The photo attached shows just one of the fabulous views from our hotel room.
Great holiday in Eastern Europe!   11 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2017
I travelled through six countries in Eastern Europe recently with a really great guide and sixteen other Aussies. All aspects of the trip - itinerary and arrangements - allowed the right combination of organised activities and time to explore. We could spend the entirety of our free days in art museums, or we could walk or shop. The tour group size ...read more encouraged positive interaction and cohesion, often everyone chose to eat together in the evenings. People were helpful and considerate: no one was habitually late or antisocial.

All the hotels were comfortable, and well-positioned close to public transport in larger cities, and right on the main square in the medieval town of Cesky Krumlov, which allowed us easy access to the whole town. The guides were generally knowledgeable and informative, but particularly our own tour guide was quietly considerate, capable and someone whose knowledge and judgment I grew to value very much.

The main cities we visited - Berlin, Warsaw, Kracow, Budapest, Vienna, Prague - were sensational, especially Vienna, but the travel days also incorporated stopping places that caught the imagination, like the sight of the ruined castle on a hill above the Danube at Durnstein in which Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned on his way back from the Crusades. Like Durnstein, our stops at Bratislava, Melk Abbey, Kutna Hora and other places added to the layers of history and culture available to us. The stay in Cesky Krumlov was like a country weekend in a medieval town.

I loved the bus travel, which allowed me to see geographical changes: the rivers, especially the Danube and Moldau, the Great Plain of Hungary, the vision of the High Tatra mountains in the distance, then up close. Overall, the tour was a huge success for me - lots of fun, but also comprehensive in its offerings of new knowledge and experiences.
Overall we enjoyed our Northern Spain Portugal trip.   7 , VIC, Australia, May 2017
Our guide Fernando was awesome and often went out of his way to assist us. We were fortunate to have delightful travelling companions and everyone got on well . It is our opinion that the tour would work better in reverse and another day should be added to Madrid. There was just not enough time to see all that Madrid had to offer. Reversing the tour ...read more would mean some half day tours would be in the morning instead of the afternoon, particularly Evora. It was a very hot day and an afternoon walking tour was extremely unpleasant.

The accommodation in Madrid at the Sterling Hotel was way, way below standard. The room allocated to my husband and myself barely fitted a double bed ( not queen), there was no space for luggage, the bathroom was sub standard and the breakfast was the worst we had on the tour. (I tried to put my complaints on the Bunnik website but was unable to do it.) (GJ: That's OK Bruce & Pat, we'll pass them on.) (Update: Bunnik have amended this itinerary in the 2019 season)
Our first organised tour   1 , VIC, Australia, May 2017
Would definitely book through Global Journeys again and would consider another Bunnik tour. The highlight for us was Northern Spain as the scenery was spectacular and wonderful towns and villages. We were a bit disappointed with the Algarve region as we didn't think we saw the best of this area or had enough options to explore on our own. Overall though ...read more the tour was fantastic.
Dalmatia Coast was more interesting and varied than expected   6 , NSW, Australia, May 2017
One negative, was lack of information about flight Options. Itinerary provided at last minute indicated only option via Heathrow which added almost a days flight time on both legs. As new Bunnik travellers we were not informed regarding alternative options. We were highly delighted with the tour and considered our tour guide instrumental in achieving ...read more a really positive experience. A great time had by all.
Wonderful Bunnik Trip   5 , ACT, Australia, May 2017
After many years of being independent travellers this was our first experience with group travel. We loved it for a variety of reasons including the great variety of activities covering both city and rural/parks locations - and varying from visiting churches to a pizza and gelato luncheon. We had an excellent guide for the land based travel and good ...read more quality accommodation and coach.

Bunnik took all the stress out of travelling between different cities with a great group of fellow travellers which added to the fun and a good balance between organised activities and free time.

As a swimmer the tour provided plenty of time and opportunities fro swimming around the Adriatic as well.

For the two weeks of land based touring Andre and the guide and Robert the driver were excellent - very informative and could not do enough for the travellers. a tribute to their efforts was that the tour group contributed a tip despite Bunnik already having made such a payment. Unfortunately the tour guide for the cruise based activities, Jan was not so good. Very laid back and the only time he showed any enthusiasm was when seeking a tip at the end of the cruise. Would not rate him.

Some of the city tours, particularly when visiting churches went into to much detail but overall the individual city/park guides were of a very high standard (particularly the guide in Split). We would definitely look at a Bunnik tour for future international travel.
Hassle free holiday   3 , SA, Australia, May 2017
There were only 5 of us travelling from Kuching and finishing in Kota Kinabalu. We were all very experienced travellers who got on well for the 17 days. We had local guides who were impressed by our questions and curiosity about Sarawak and Sabah. We all felt that the people of Malaysian Borneo were friendly and happy.

I would liked to have tasted ...read more more variety in the food especially in the river resorts. Seeing the orangutans and sun bears was interesting and the river cruises enabled us to see the animals in the wild.

We visited the war memorials set up in memory of the soldiers who died in the Sandakan death marches at the end of WW2. This will be a lasting memory. It was a truly interesting holiday, one which we all enjoyed immensely.
Wow what a trip!   5 , TAS, Australia, Apr 2017
Wow what a trip. Morocco was nothing like I imagined. I believe our local guide showed us the real Morocco and much more. A fascinating country and so varied. This part of the tour felt like an adventure. Using different modes of transport in this tour was a great idea, comfortable roomy bus travel, driving across the desert in 4wd drives, travelling ...read more across the Gibraltar Strait to Spain on a Tassie built ferry and the fast train rides.

The Spain part of the tour felt like a fabulous holiday. Our guide was so efficient and calm it was soothing and relaxing travelling with him. He showed us how to enjoy Spain, the food, the places and the people whilst imparting a wealth of knowledge to us. He also gave us great information about our after tour stay. The cooking sessions were brilliant but even better eating the results afterwards at our exclusive dining experiences.

I visited many places on this tour that I would never have found on my own. The unseen bonus of a tour like this is the people you meet that you never forget. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bunnik tour and would sign up for one again any day.
A fantastic tour of Japan that covers a lot of cultural experiences   12 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2017
We really enjoyed our tour during Cherry Blossom time - seeing wonderful Japanese scenery, temples and gardens, all with magnificent weather. This tour also provided us with many Japanese experiences, such as lunch with Sumos, a traditional tea ceremony in a Japanese teahouse, a vegetarian lunch in a mountain top Buddhist Sanctuary, saki tasting in ...read more the charming sake brewing district of Kyoto, dressed up in a Kimono, saw a Geisha performance, made sushi, did 7 bullet train trips, caught a ferry over to the island of Miyajima Island, caught a gondola to see the sulphur fields near Mt Fuji, visited the UNESCO village of Shirakawago with its steep thatched roofed farmhouses, stayed in the mountains in Takayama in a traditional guesthouse with hot springs. This tour covered it all.
Japan's beautiful cherry blossoms   9 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2017
At the start of our tour in Tokyo we were greeted with the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom which lasted until the day we departed Osaka. A huge 'thank you' to Global Journeys and Bunnik Tours for providing such a wonderful experience. Our consultant at Global Journeys, Yvonne Brooks, provided a very transparent booking process and was available ...read more to satisfy enquiries and provide information. The inclusions provided a good overview of Japanese cuisine, customs, history and iconic structures, which were all enjoyable. Transport was by bullet train and modern, comfortable coaches, driven by very competent personnel. Accommodation was excellent, perhaps with the exception of Osaka which is probably due to the shortage of accommodation to meet demands in that city. The group of 20 Australians all mixed well and enjoyed one-another's company. We were blessed to have a wonderful tour guide, Shima Ozawa, who spoke good English and went out of her way to assist the group and individuals in any way she could. We will certainly be checking what Bunnik tours are on offer in the future.
Japan Discovery, Cherry Blossom Tour   6 , SA, Australia, Mar 2017
We have almost nothing but good things to say about this tour. The only small grizzle was about the number of Buddha and shrines included. Every day, "Not another one". There were things included that we would not have seen or done if we had done our own thing, and we appreciated this. Our tour guide, Kyoko, was top class. However, due to illness and ...read more accident we didn't really enjoy ourselves, (not Bunnik's fault) we are unlikely to travel again.
Curry Heaven   2 , QLD, Australia, Mar 2017
Bunnick and Butterfly Travel were a great combination to tour Sri Lanka. You could not ask for anyone more knowledgeable and enthusiastic as our Guide. Sri Lanka is still a "third world" country but they are trying to improve - the people are friendly and hospitable. They are welcoming of travelers and realize that tourism is part of their future. ...read more The alcohol is resorts and hotels are a bit over-priced, but you could always find something to drink. The food was fantastic - if you can eat it, they curry it. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
A Taste of Sri Lanka - A perfect balance   6 , QLD, Australia, Jan 2017
The trip went very well, and Priya is an outstanding guide. I found the itinerary a perfect balance of wildlife, historical sites, cultural exposure, varying terrain, and the opportunity to see how Buddhist, Muslim and Christian communities coexist. The accommodation was excellent in every case, and the pace of the tour allowed free time, and never ...read more felt rushed or overwhelming. The food was exceptional, but perhaps just a little too many included meals, as I found I actually skipped evening meals on occasions where Priya arranged for us to stop somewhere for lunch (at our own cost) where the offering tended to be more than a snack type meal. All in all, for a lifetime solo traveller, I found the Bunnik's tour a surprisingly comfortable way to see a destination I have long wished to visit. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
Excellent holiday   5 , NSW, Australia, Oct 2016
The local tour guides we have for Jordan and Egypt were excellent, especially Mofid of Cairo. His knowledge of Egypt is exceptional and that made a lot of difference to the trip which became very interesting and informative. The tour coach were not very good, as the air conditioning was not working most of the time and the seats not very comfortabl ...read moree.
An Amazing Southern Italy Sojourn     6 , WA, Australia, Sep 2016
Everything about this holiday worked for me. Our booking agent at Global Journeys was wonderful, quick and efficient. The cost was reasonable. The itinerary really great, mixed and everywhere we went was enjoyable. The tour director (Alessia) was a wow factor as she was such fun and very competent. She livened up the tour and made sure we were never ...read more bored. The local guides were excellent too.
Three bucket list destinations     4 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2016
Our group tour ended up being the two of us and after some in trepidation, it turned out to be brilliant. at each destination a guide was there to help with everything. In fact due to the time spent, you became close with them and they made the trip wonderful. Santiago was great with the recent history and the passionate guide who helped us feel at ...read more home. Galapagos is literally another world and just by luck, it was low season and so fewer people. We met other great travellers in the rich and diverse land. The closeness of the animals and the bringing to life Charles Darwin's theory was second to none. We would go back again. Cuba, a place that is safe, warm and friendly, don't believe what you are told as the Cubans have a different view on history and how they live, works and works well. This is an amazing land rich with culture and music and mojitos. Brilliant. Peru and the Incas and the level of advancement from 1000 years ago is superb. 70% of all food that we know originated from Peru. This is a must travel, but ensure you take your altitude tablets and drink the Coco Tea. The whole tour was the brilliant, well organized and actually great that there was only the two of us. Worth every penny!
Spectacular Highs of all Kinds     4 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2016
I think the spectacular and breathtaking scenery through Bavaria, Austria, beautiful Slovenia (which I had previously known little about) the Dolomites in Italy then the Swiss Alps, was really the key to my enjoyment of this tour. Our Slovenian guide Ales, was a mine of information and passionate about his subject and he looked after the fifteen of us ...read more really really well. Being a small group we were more like a family;this was fun and reassuring for those of us who were sole travellers. The summer weather was fantastic, our drivers were skilled and really, I couldn't recommend this tour highly enough. A couple of hotels might be changed(we were the first group to do this tour) and I won't be eating sauerkraut again for at least a year(!) but these are minor details. An extra day in Interlaken would be good. A Mozart concert is Vienna could be an option;I would have preferred that to the Sound of Music tour, but that is only a personal thing. I will never forget the thrill of being up The Matterhorn.
A fantastic destination with a great tour company   1 , NSW, Australia, May 2016
I would definitely use Bunnik again. They include a lot more what's in the brochure so there were lots of surprises among the way. Our quide was the best guide we've ever had. Norway is beautiful but Iceland was the highlight. The landscapes were amazing, the people are friendly, and unique experiences made this holiday one to remember.
Mexico and Cuba   2 , Australia, Apr 2016
Got to know the history, culture and the people of Mexico and Cuba. A real eye opener. Sergio, our guide in Mexico, is very good and experienced. His commentary and explanation of Mexican history and life are both entertaining and informative. The itinerary led us to different parts of Mexico with its varying cuisines and we had different styles of ...read more accommodation. We got to taste some very nice seafood. Carmen, our guide in Cuba, is good while doing her talk in the tour bus. But there is room for improvement for her performance on the road. Not much guiding once outside the bus and not very clear cut about the logistics of the tour. Were pleasantly surprised by the variety of seafood we got to taste in Cuba. Cuban music and American old bombs are marvellous. The rides in these classic cars are hilarious. Cuba is not a country one goes for its scenery but for its history, its mystery after so many years of enforced isolation and for the pilgrimage for Che Guevara. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
Bucket List Trip to South America   2 , NSW, Australia, Oct 2015
No tour is perfect but this was excellent value for money, one of our most memorable trips, plus we made a few lifelong friends :) The weather was on our side, especially at Machu Picchu and the first day at Iguazu Falls but it rained pretty heavily on the second day. Our group, compared with the other Bunnik group was more active and less whingey, ...read more so we thank God for His perfect matching! I really liked the SMALL group concept. All of us survived the high altitude. Our local guide(s) were all knowledgeable and one was so helpful in calmly helping my wife when we had visa issues at the Bolivian border and pre-filling out the entire group's immigration forms at the airport!

Our tour director was competent but we can only rate her 3/5. Accommodation was standard (though we were unfortunate guides pigs for Bunnik's new hotel option which provide woeful service) but the fantastic hotels in Machu Picchu and Iguazu Falls made up for it. Tip: When booking Easter Island extension, ask for a hotel upgrade as the default one was very very mediocre & a massive let down after our South American tour :( Ending with a cruise was ideal as it provided down time, especially to review our 'digital mountain'! Last but not least, though I started to get the flu on the last day, God miraculously provided us with an upgrade to Business Class, so I could rest before returning to work. Yvonne Brooks was fantastic in answering all our queries and expediting our requests. Yes I would recommend this tour... and I saw they have a luxury version, which I think I would have gone for re accommodation!
