What our clients are saying about their Sicily tour
This tour combines both the ancient history of Sicily and the culture of the Sicilian people through their food and living traditions. It included unique accommodation such as an Olive Farm and a previous Monastery as well as beautiful hotels. One other highlight was a five course degustation luncheon with matching wines on the slopes of Mt Etna. Included read more in the tour is also visits to community programs fighting against crime and teaching young people the art of early chocolate making. These, as well as many other activities, were achieved without long days of travel which is the disadvantage of many larger tours.
Just got back from the Old World Sicily & Malta tour with Collette, and overall it was a fantastic experience! The itinerary was amazing — stunning places, great food, and the perfect mix of sightseeing and downtime. I was travelling solo, but honestly, it never felt that way. There was such a great group of people, and by the end, we all felt like read more family. So many laughs and fun moments along the way! Our tour manager was a really lovely guy, but it was his first tour with Collette, so he was still finding his way a bit. He tried hard (and even used Google a few times to help out, which gave us all a chuckle!). While it wasn’t quite up to the same level as my previous Collette tours, he had a great attitude and was genuinely kind.
Huge shoutout to Hannah from Global Journeys — she was absolutely amazing! She made the whole process so easy from start to finish, handled everything perfectly, and kept me in the loop the whole time. All in all, it was an incredible trip — great company, beautiful destinations, and so many laughs. I’d definitely travel with Collette again and book through Global Journeys in a heartbeat! 💖✨
Lovely trip to Sicily with Back Roads Touring. The itinerary was perfect, a good amount of organised tours versus free time.
We loved the organised tours, from olive farm stay to a day in Taormina. The small group was perfect, 13 of us, small enough to get ti know everyone is 10 days. Our tour director Davide and our coach driver, Giovanni were very read more friendly and knowledgable. The hotels to my surprise were first class mingled with classic stays. The included lunches were fabulous, wine and food were first class and situated in lovely areas, only small coaches could get into. I would highly recommend Back Roads Touring and look forward to our next adventure.
Great experience in Portugal and Malta The Sicilian with MaltaSandra, VIC, Australia, Sep 2025
Thank you Hannah for once again organising a great tour. The itinerary was jam packed, the guides were excellent, and the hotels were lovely and centrally located. I went solo and thoroughly enjoyed the company of mainly Americans.
Sicily The SicilianChristine and Murray, New Zealand, Aug 2025
The trip was well run and stress free. Be prepared for early starts, but that does mean lots was packed into every day.
My only criticism would be that the local tour guides can be too wordy and often boring. We had one outstanding guide, but the rest were less impressive. I felt an introduction on the bus by our tour director, then free time to explore read more was much more enjoyable. This happened on some of the places visited. Hannah was great and answered all enquiries promptly.
We had the best time far better than expected which was largely thanks to our guide Remi and driver Gennero so many highlights we enjoyed every moment.
