Dining lies at the heart of life aboard APT’s new-generation river ships, Solara and Ostara. Across six distinctive venues – plus indulgent in-suite service – every menu celebrates the seasons and the regions you sail through, ensuring each bite feels authentically European.

“We created each venue with a clear sense of story and place - think intimate, wine-paired dinners in The Owner’s Cellar and relaxed, farmhouse-style fare at Annie’s Table,” explains Monique Lane, Director of Fellow Hospitality and the visionary behind the two ships culinary experience.

With more dining choices than any other European river ship, Solara and Ostara showcase produce sourced daily from local markets along the route. Variety and freshness are guaranteed, so you can follow your appetite from dawn to dusk, confident that quality is always on the menu.

Grüner Bar & Dining

A world first in river cruising, Grüner Bar & Dining rests on a hydraulic platform that lifts the entire venue from the Upper Deck to the Sun Deck, unveiling sweeping city skylines or charming village scenes as you sail. The ascent turns every drink or meal into a moving panorama your clients will never forget.

Inspired by Germany’s Grüner Markt, the venue serves seasonal, locally sourced small plates created for sharing, paired with a curated list of regional wines and cocktails. Guests can relax in a neighbourhood-bar atmosphere, chat with friends and sip the signature Grüner Veltliner while Europe’s landscapes unfold beyond the glass.

Bistro Saison

Bistro Saison, our all-day dining venue, captures the easy charm of a local European bistro and delivers a warm neighbourhood atmosphere. Guests can enjoy buffet and à la carte breakfasts and lunches, followed by a three-course à la carte dinner each evening. The name ‘Saison’ - French for ‘season’ - signals the heart of the concept: fresh, seasonal produce and regional dishes inspired by the journey, all served in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

The Owner's Cellar

The Owner's Cellar delivers an exclusive fine-dining experience tucked within Bistro Saison. Seating just 12 guests, this intimate venue showcases local produce through a generous five-course tasting menu paired with premium wines. Conceived as a one-time-only event on each sailing, it invites you to the owner's table - a chance to slow down, savour every course, and enjoy an elevated evening of exceptional food and wine.

Annie's Table

Each evening, a corner of The Salon transforms into Annie's Table, named for Annie McGeary, wife of APT founder Geoff McGeary. The venue radiates warmth and welcome, serving familiar favourites in a share-plate style. Guests enjoy a three-course set menu of classic European dishes matched with complementary wines, celebrating Annie’s love of gathering friends and family around comforting, home-style meals.

The Salon

The Salon is the social heart of the ship. By day, sip barista-made coffee brewed from Fjord beans, linger over a light buffet or small à la carte selections, and settle into inviting lounges to read or simply watch the river drift by. After dark, the space shifts effortlessly into an entertainment hub where live music invites everyone onto the dance floor.

Daystar Deck

When the weather warms, the Daystar Deck on the Upper Sun Deck becomes an alfresco haven. Inspired by the sun-kissed Mediterranean, its menu features fresh barbecued meats, seasonal vegetables, vibrant salads, and indulgent desserts. All are served against a backdrop of open-air panoramas, creating a relaxed, sunlit dining experience guests will treasure.

& In-Suite Dining

Every suite category offers in-suite dining, ensuring comfort without compromise. Guests may order from Bistro Saison or select favourites from the Always Available menu and dine in privacy while enjoying on-screen entertainment or the ever-changing riverscapes outside their window.
