Africa is a land of incredible diversity. From Cape Town to Cairo, APT has handcrafted a range of experiences across this wild continent, offering distinct luxury and refined service in far-flung wilds and bustling cities alike. Prepare for an exploration that uncovers unparalleled diversity, from unique wildlife to cultures seemingly as old as the landscape itself.

Go in search of Africa’s famous wildlife, on a range of incredible 4WD game drives. APT includes private game park experiences in Kruger National Park, as well as visits to the Great Game Parks of East Africa, including the Masai Mara, Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater all in one tour. We also include game viewing from the water in Chobe National Park either aboard the Zambezi Queen, or watching the animals along the banks at Chobe Water Villas.

Taking you remarkably close to a variety of native wildlife in comfort and safety, your game drivers/trackers will expertly guide your 4WD through the African wilderness and draw on their innate techniques to track wildlife.

Spotting one of the Big Five for the first time, visiting a traditional Maasai village, sitting down to a boma dinner under the stars… these extraordinary experiences with APT not only indulge your curiosity, they enhance each incredible destination.

In 2018, APT is offering unforgettable holidays across Africa including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt and Morocco.

They've made it easier for you to match your style of travel to your personal interests, offering a number of ways to explore Africa, all of which bear the award-winning hallmarks of travel the APT way. Take your pick from a range of exclusive APT Travel Styles. Whether travelling in an intimate smaller group or exploring by Rovos Rail, APT delivers the best of Africa. Each destination presents a remarkable new encounter at every turn, as you explore a land that is blessed with rich natural wonders and unique cultural experiences.

Classic Journeys – Experience Africa in a style that’s distinctly, delightfully, APT. This means a maximum of just 28 guests; stunning accommodation in amazing locations such as being able to walk to Victoria Falls from the Royal Livingstone Hotel; visiting the must-see sights including private game park experiences in Kruger National Park; comfortable travel by coach along the Garden Route for instance; quality dining with many meals included; and ample leisure time.

Remote Journeys – Remote Journeys are all about the destination. On them, you’ll explore places that are hard to reach independently, and you’ll do so in great detail. Detouring from main roads, you’ll enjoy a unique glimpse into a wilder side of Africa which includes travel by private plane over the dunes of Namibia, yet still enjoying all the indulgent benefits of travelling with APT, such as staying at the luxurious Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti and unique tented camps in spectacular settings in the Masai Mara.

Luxury River Cruising – On soothing waters, let the wonders of Egypt come to you. Once on board, unpack once and relax aboard your floating boutique hotel on the Nile River.

Perhaps Embark on an unforgettable rail adventure and experience the graceful opulence of a bygone era aboard Rovos rail. Lavish decor and original finishes create a refined interior that epitomises old-world luxury rail travel, yet which belies a subtle use of modern-day technology.

On many itineraries, you’re able to start your holiday with a journey from Pretoria to Cape Town, via the old mining mecca of Kimberley – among other attractions. Or new for 2018, experience five nights on board Rovos Rail from Cape Town to Victoria Falls, with one night in Pretoria as part of a brand new 14-night adventure.

No one else can offer the advice and expertise of our APT Tour Directors. Along with our experienced local drivers, who keep your safety as their top priority, they’re with you every step of the way. Taking you on a private journey through their own home towns, our friendly local guides reveal insights that only a local could offer. Through them, each place, its history, its people and their culture will truly come to life before you.

Life-enriching travel with all of the details taken care of, yet with all the wonderful choices still your own to make. That’s Africa with APT.
