Sit inside an RFDS aircraft, see historic radios used by the doctors and discover how the doctors operated in 1928. With no navigational aid and no radio, the first flying doctor, Arthur Affleck, operated using only a compass and map.
This morning, visit the world's largest classroom, covering more than 1.3 million square kilometres, Alice Springs School of the Air has been bridging education gaps caused by remote locations and providing schooling to children at cattle stations, roadhouses, Aboriginal communities and national parks with daily lessons since 1951. Insider Experience: Embark on the Kings Canyon Rim Walk. On this challenging hike, venture around the rim of the canyon's incredible sandstone walls, then after reaching the lookout, be rewarded as you marvel at the spectacular views of the canyon itself. About halfway along is the Garden of Eden, featuring a waterhole and bright riverine vegetation.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, doing the 6km rim walk at Kings Canyon was our highlight, along with experiencing Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Erldunda and Standley Chasm. Our coach driver John was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Most enjoyable outback, outdoor experience. As an inexperienced tour traveller I found the single supplement punitive. The base cost, on the other hand, was quite good value. Travelling shortly after COVID restrictions were lifted meant accommodation services were lacking or accident prone - as might be expected. Vehicle supplied was of poor quality ...read more - especially considering the long distances involved and the quality of other tourist transport on the same roads. Good time of year to travel. Small group of similar demographic worked very well.
