Itinerary
The adventure begins as you meet your guides and fellow travellers in Melbourne. From there, we embark on a road trip filled with anticipation.
The day's walk takes you through some of the most scenic sections of the Great Ocean Walk. From tranquil eucalypt forests to the majestic cliffs overlooking the sea onto pristine sandy beaches and the iconic Cape Otway Lighthouse, you'll be captivated by the beauty of your surroundings. As you walk, breathe in the fresh ocean air and savour the feeling of being truly immersed in nature.
In the afternoon, we return to our private eco-lodge nestled in rainforest surrounds. Our host meets you with canapes and champagne before serving a long-table dinner starring Apollo Bay seafood and fresh local produce.
On the morning of your walk, we meet at Mercure, Southbank (9 Riverside Quay, Southbank VIC 3000). Here, your guide will introduce you to fellow walkers before departing for our drive to Blanket Bay. Be dressed and ready to walk, with your daypack fully packed for the days walk ahead.
After a restful night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, we set off on another day of exploration. This time, we meander through native stringybark forest, where the scent of eucalyptus fills the air. If the tide allows, we descend onto Wreck Beach,a hidden gem that forms part of a treacherous coastline rich in maritime history and responsible for some 180 shipwrecks over the years. After lunch, we visit the enchanting rainforest trail of Melba Gully with towering Mountain Ash and Beech Myrtle with an understory of tree ferns and a soundscape of flowing waterfalls.
Back at our private eco-lodge, you'll have the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate with a soothing foot bath. Sip on bubbles and enjoy canapés before another delicious meal, perfectly complemented by local wines and beers. It's an evening of connection where we share tales of the trails before retiring to comfortable beds for a restful sleep.
As you savour another wholesome breakfast, the anticipation builds for the final leg of your journey. Today, we head to the Twelve Apostles, a collection of magnificent natural wonders that emerge slowly as the trail rises and falls. You'll know you've reached your destination when you arrive at the exclusive viewing platform reserved for walkers. Take in the breathtaking views and marvel at the sheer beauty of these iconic formations.
We then move on to a well-deserved lunch, rounding off our produce story at our local suppliers at Schulz Dairy before returning to Melbourne. Your journey along the Great Ocean Road has come full circle, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.

Trip FAQ's Frequently asked questions about the Great Ocean Road (Long Weekend).
Our four day itinerary departs every Tuesday and our Long Weekend departs every Saturday from 1 September through to 31 May. We also offering read more a number of winter departures in July and August.
Each trip requires a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 guests.
The minimum age for guests walking with us is 12 years old. There are no upper age restrictions, however, for guests walking with us who read more are 69 or above we do require a GP to sign off on a letter we provide.
Whilst walking with us you will experience truly spectacular accommodation. Each night you will use our exclusive accommodation.
As long as you regularly exercise, or are capable of walking between 7 - 17 km's each day you should enjoy the experience. The best preparation read more for a walk is walking! Do some hill training and increase your distances over time.
Your 32-litre day pack should weigh no more than 5kgs. You will carry your lunch, water, a waterproof jacket and any personal items each day.
You will need lightweight lace-up boots or walking shoes. Boots/shoes must be worn in to minimise the risk of blisters. Sandshoes, elastic-sided read more boots, street shoes and similar are not acceptable.
Every trip has two experienced guides. This allows plenty of opportunities to rest, take photos and walk at your own pace.
All meals are provided, including scrumptious dinners with fresh produce prepared by your gourmet cooks/guides, evening meals are served read more with a selection of local wines. We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements, we just need to know in advance. *Please note in the best interest of our guests and staff we promote the responsible service of alcohol.
For your convenience, you may like to stay at Mercure Melbourne Southbank the evening prior to your walk as this is where our shuttle departs read more from. You are more than welcome to choose alternate accommodation just please ensure you are ready to leave from Mercure Melbourne Southbank at 7.45am sharp.
If you would like a transfer from Melbourne our shuttle will meet you at Mercure Melbourne Southbank, 9 Riverside Quay, Southbank Victoria read more at 7.45am sharp. Please note we do not travel via the Great Ocean Road. For those who wish to self-drive, please contact your advisor to discuss your options. If you are transferring back to Melbourne with us we can drop you at the Tullamarine Airport between 5pm and 5.30pm (please book domestics flights no earlier than 6.30pm or international flights no earlier than 7.30pm). We will then transfer to Mercure Melbourne Southbank between 5.30pm and 6pm.
