Scandinavia and its Spectacular Fjords

Celebrate the start of your journey at this evening’s welcome reception. You’ll stay two nights in Copenhagen.

Among the highlights of your guided tour this morning are the Royal reception rooms at Christiansborg Palace, home of the Danish Parliament. You’ll also see the courtyard of Amalienborg Palace, home to Princess Mary and the Danish Royal Family. The afternoon is yours to take in the wonderful sights of this fabulous city at your leisure. Your welcome dinner tonight is at one of Copenhagen’s finest restaurants. (B/D)

Today farewell Denmark and board an included flight to Ålesund where you will get your first glimpse of the spectacular Norweigian fjords. On arrival your Tour Director will escort your through the town known for its Art Nouveau architecture. (B)

This morning you’ll cruise from Ålesund to Geiranger. Explore the spectacular Geiranger Fjord and sail past the Seven Sisters, The Suitor and The Bridal Veil waterfalls. Afterwards enjoy the unforgettable views of Geiranger fjord from a difference perspective (weather permitting) from the Dalsnibba view point. (B/D)

Today the incredible sights continue as we take a full day drive through some of the regions most breathtaking scenery. See crystal blue fjords surrounded by incredible mountains as you travel to Åndalsnes, see the impressive Trollveggen, the tallest vertigal rock face in Europe and then return to Geiranger via the Troll’s Ladder Road, the winding snake like road that traverses the steep mountainside. Travel alongside mountains that boast the largest icefield in continental Europe, Jostedalsbreen, which covers 487 square kilometres. Enrich: Visit one of the most photographed and impressive arms of the icefield, Briksdalsbreen, and have a truly Norwegian experience. Be taken by ‘trollcar’ up the glacier for a spectacular view of the glacier and magnificent waterfall. Continue your journey this afternoon to Balestrand, and arrive at your hotel, located at the junction of the majestic Sognefjord and Esefjord. (B/D)

This morning relax on-board a gorgeous fjord cruise before embarking on the steepest railway in Europe the world-famous Flåm railway. Amid spectacular scenery and roaring waterfalls travel to Myrdal before changing trains and continuing your journey to Norway’s second largest city, the Hanseatic fishing port of Bergen. Bergen dates back to the 12th century when the port was an important centre of European trade for the all-powerful German Hanseatic League. Arrive in Bergen and admire the pretty multi coloured wooden buildings of Bergen, just down the way from your residence for the next two nights. (B)

Today you’ll explore Bergen and drive to Troldhaugen, the former home of Edvard Grieg, Norway’s greatest composer. Freechoice: Journey 320 metres up the funicular railway to Mt. Fløyen for a spectacular view of the city and fjord. Alternatively, visit the local Fish Markets, meet some vendors and sample the catch of the day. (B)

This morning we journey to Lofthus; situated on the shore of Sørfjorden, an arm of the Hardangerfjord, this charming town is our home for tonight. (B/D)

Today is your opportunity to explore the natural scenery of the Lofthus region further. The region is often referred to as the ‘Orchard of Hardanger’ and has been producing fruit and cider for centuries. (B/D)

Today we drive through the scenic and breathtaking Hardangervidda, Europe’s highest mountain plateau and home to Norway’s largest herd of wild reindeer, before arriving in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, for your two night stay. (B/D)

Explore the highlights of Oslo during a guided tour before taking the opportunity to discover Nordic Viking heritage with a visit to the Midgard Viking Centre. Tour the museum and partake in some fun Viking themed activities such as Axe throwing. (B/L)

Today journey to Stockholm, the capital and largest city in Sweden. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to your centrally located hotel for your two night stay. (B)

Your local guide will unveil the city’s most treasured hotspots during a city tour. You’ll also visit the Nobel Museum. The Nobel prize is the most prestigious in the world and here you will learn about the laureates and their prize winning ideas from the last century. (B/D)

After breakfast you’ll be transferred to Stockholm Airport for your onward or homebound flight, taking memories of a truly unforgettable trip.
