Scenic's standards are very high on board. It is not the prettiest river cruise destination as the Bordeaux rivers are brown from the clay. The scenery from the ship was not attractive. It was only when you went on excursions that you experienced the vineyards, villages & chateaux. We spent a lot more time on board the ship compared to their Spectacular read more South of France cruise we did last year which included free time in quaint towns & villages. Again very good efficient friendly service from Hannah Perry.
I was very happy with Hannah and everything that she did for us all the queries that we had she handled them promptly so would recommend her to anyone.

We were obviously disappointed when we learned cruising would be limited due to low water levels on the Danube River but Scenic went out of their way to make up for that. All in all it was a great trip -- the cruising, the food, the hotels, the excursions, even the bus rides! And Ethan Battison was perfect in taking care of the arrangements with Scenic read more and keeping us up-to-date. Couldn't be happier with him.

Thank you Rachel at Global Journeys for helping us to book our dream holiday on Scenic Exlipse II when we found Scenic to be unhelpful. Grace took over from Rachel and was also very efficient with some details as well as obtaining a refund for our flight change from Emirates to Thai Airways. The boat is magnificent - brilliant stabilisers, great facilities, read more staff couldn’t be better and excellent and varied dining experiences. The included daily excursions and guide were of very high quality. We enjoyed the 21 day trip from Stockholm to Bergen visiting Estonia, Latvia, Germany and the Scandinavian countries. There were many highlights but we will never forget sailing through the Norwegian Fjords.

Danube in Depth

Sadly the Danube is not at its best. Interuptions to the itinery meant more coach travel than usual. I think people on board called it a river cruise on wheels. However Avalon cannot be falted for there efforts. We saw 90% of what was originally offered. The service on the boat was magnificent. Food plentyful and well presented. As was the bar service read more especially happy hour. Cabins were always well prepared and clean along with the bathroom facilities. We missed out on Bulgaria but having been before it really didnt bother us. Kayla kept us up to date with changes which we thank her for. Avalon sent me 6 emails with changes but a couple were a mystery to us. We had booked flights out of Bucharest for the 15th August but there email was for the 14th. Good job we had Stefano as our ship manager to correct things. Thanks again to Global Journeys for the bookings. Our 15th river cruise and i think our 10th with Avalon.

We loved both cruises with Scenic: Normandy & Gems of the Seine plus Spectacular South of France. Tracey Standing from Global Joirneys was very helpful and efficient in organising this Scenic package and always ready to answer any questions we had or information we needed to know. There was a great collection of people on each cruise from the U.K., read more USA, Canadians, New Zealanders and Australians. The food was magnificent, the wine and other drinks flowed, the Excursions all enjoyable and the entertainment on board was wonderful. I would highly recommend both these cruises, especially together, to anyone considering river cruising in France.

This was our first river cruise but not our 1st Scenic tour. We travelled late June and we were extremely lucky to have completed our cruise with only 1 boat swap and minimal bus journeys. These issues are related to water levels on the main rivers and something none of the tour operators can manage. Having said that from what we heard from other travellers read more not all your operators are the same and Scenic do go the extra mile to minimise impacts when they occur. Cannot fault the cleanliness of the boat. Rooms etc and also the staff are attentive and the food is excellent. Being all inclusive is a gem and it really takes away and idea of what to skip and just enjoy and do whatever. Great mix of excursions at each stop and there is something for everyone. Would highly recommend the trip just be aware of the climate impacts to the European rivers when making your booking.
The trip was everything the advertised and more. Staff was excellent, room as advertised and food and beverage service was excellent. Rita is Celiac and they took great care of her. Absolutely no complaints.

Travelling with Scenic is always very well organized and worry free. Their attention to detail insures there are plenty of options for land excursions to suit all ages and different abilities. Whenever possible or weather permits Scenic will offer additional things to the program, like helicopter flights, paddle boarding or kayaking. The food is always read more amazing with an extensive wine list and the staff are wonderful.

Romantic Rhine & Moselle with Switzerland

We really enjoyed this cruise and also the land leg in Switzerland. We went to some beautiful places and were totally spoilt by the cruise staff. The available options for sightseeing were really good. The meals and all accommodation was first class. Thanks also to Grace for handling our booking so efficiently.
The highlight of the tour was Viviers where our tour guide took us to her hour which wad used as a Resistance house during WW2.

A big thank you to Georgie for, once again, her exceptional management of our booking. This is our fourth journey booked through Global Journeys and each time their service has been first class. Our Scenic Tour to Japan was beyond our expectations. The majority of our accommodation was superb, the meals were unbelievable and our tour director, Yumi, read more was very enthusiastic, well organised, informative and caring. The itinerary offered a good variety of sightseeing and activities at a moderate pace. Highly recommended.
Scenic provided excellent service and made you feel like a big family. This itinerary was excellent beautiful views along the Moselle River and the best of the Rhine. Included excursions were top notch.

Our tour host Richard was fantastic from organizing tours to entertaining guests answering questions. Fantastic. Highly recommend this all inclusive river cruise.
Our cruise with Scenic exceeded all expectations. The ship, the food, the staff and the excursions were all excellent. Highly recommend Scenic and we will be travelling with them again. Global Journeys provided excellent service and were always very quick to respond to my questions.

This Scenic river cruise "Eastern Europe & Balkans Unveiled with Transylvania" was fantastic .... the meals and staff were wonderful, would recommend it to anyone.
We also really enjoyed the 4 night extension bus journey around Transylvania.
Hannah from Global Journeys organized everything, so friendly and easy to talk too, was a pleasure booking with her.

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was very well plan. Food and excursion are first class. We are very happy with Scenic and also the service of Georgina and Global Journeys.
We loved our trip! Easy from start to finish thanks to Tracey at Global Journeys. The Scenic team were amazing - the tours, food, beverages & service was all top class. Totally recommend this holiday - however maybe a week or two later for better weather!

We had a wonderful time cruising around New Zealand on Scenic Eclipse 2. The staff and service were excellent, and the food in all the restaurants was very good. Captain Torry Sakkariassen was brilliant and very accommodating with his time. He was very happy to welcome and talk to all guests on the Bridge. We booked this cruise very late after it had read more been booked out and someone cancelled. We got Suite 702 which sits on its own next to the Bridge. We did wonder if it might be noisy with all the activity around the Bridge, but it was completely silent. We also thought it was slightly larger than the average Deluxe Veranda Suite. We would definitely book this suite again. The cruise ran seamlessly with smooth sailing other than a couple of rough nights sailing around the bottom of the South Island. Definitely take your sea sickness medication for this area. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this cruise, and we will definitely cruise on Scenic Eclipse 2 again.
