Itinerary

Welcome to Croatia. On arrival at Split Airport, transfer to your hotel and settle in before your Adriatic journey begins. The rest of the day is at leisure. You may wish to take a stroll through Split's historic streets, relax by the waterfront or sample Dalmatian cuisine at a local restaurant before embarking on your cruise tomorrow. Stay: Cornaro, Split

Join your Local Expert this morning to explore Split's Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant Roman monuments in the world. Visit the emperor's mausoleum, now the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, and see the Temple of Jupiter, later converted into a baptistery. Walk through the Golden Gate, once the main entrance to the palace complex.

Afterwards, board your ship and meet your Cruise Manager, who'll be with you throughout your coastal journey. Enjoy lunch onboard as you cruise to Hvar. Take a short tour to see its Renaissance cathedral and the 16th-century fortress that overlooks the old town and nearby Pakleni Islands. (B/L) Stay: MV Futura/MV Avangard/MV Maritimo

Cruise from Hvar to the Pelješac Peninsula, known since the 14th century for its vineyards and maritime trade. Pause for a swim in one of the Adriatic's secluded bays before a freshly prepared lunch onboard. As you near Trstenik, join an olive oil tasting onboard to explore the peninsula's deep-rooted tradition of small-batch production.

Journey inland to Kuna, a village tied to monastic heritage and agriculture. Visit a family-run winery to sample their specialities, grown on steep, sun-drenched slopes overlooking the sea. End the day with a Farm-to-Table dinner on the Antunović estate, where Dalmatian specialities are prepared using ingredients sourced directly from the family's farm. (B/L/D)

Sail to the island of Mljet, home to one of Croatia's most treasured national parks. Accompanied by your Cruise Manager, explore a landscape shaped by legend and geology — Mljet is said to be the island where Odysseus was held captive by the nymph Calypso. Visit the park's renowned saltwater lakes, whose striking colour comes from a unique mix of marine and freshwater ecosystems. Board a small boat across the larger lake to St. Mary Isle, where a 12th-century Benedictine monastery sits in serene isolation.

Return to your ship for lunch, then enjoy a memorable cruise along Dubrovnik's ancient city walls, offering panoramic views of the terracotta rooftops and fortress towers. Arrive in port for time at leisure before dining on board and spending the night docked in the city. (B/L/D)

This morning, join a guided walking tour of Dubrovnik's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site enclosed by remarkably preserved medieval walls. Discover the city's rich maritime past, from its days as the Republic of Ragusa to its role in resisting Ottoman and Venetian expansion. Then take the cable car to Mount Srđ, where views stretch across the Adriatic and the Elaphiti Islands.

The afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy at leisure. You may wish to explore further with an Optional Experience: sea kayaking beneath the city walls or take a Game of Thrones filming locations tour, which reveals how Dubrovnik became King's Landing. Alternatively, explore the city's museums, walk the medieval ramparts, or unwind at one of the open-air cafes along the promenade. (B)

Sail north this morning towards Korčula, passing forested islands and secluded inlets along the Dalmatian coast. Pause in a quiet bay to enjoy lunch on board, surrounded by calm turquoise waters. Arrive in Korčula, often referred to as ‘Little Dubrovnik' for its medieval walls and red-roofed skyline. Meet your Local Expert, Andrea, for a guided walk through the Old Town's narrow streets, laid out in a herringbone pattern to protect against wind and sun. Learn about Korčula's link to Marco Polo and its centuries of Venetian influence.

The evening is at leisure. You may choose to explore further with an Optional Experience buggy ride across the island, a wine tasting at Tasovac Winery, or a traditional Dalmatian dinner featuring locally sourced seafood and island-grown produce. (B/L)

Cruise from Korčula this morning with a swim stop in one of the Adriatic's quiet bays, an ideal moment to unwind before lunch is served on board. Arrive on the island of Brač, known for its white limestone, exported as far as the White House, and laid-back coastal villages. The afternoon is yours at leisure. You might choose to explore the island's cultural sites, such as the Blaca Hermitage or local art workshops, or simply enjoy the waterfront.

This evening, join the Captain's Dinner, an onboard celebration featuring regional dishes and live entertainment. (B/L/D)

Sail north this morning towards Trogir, a small island town connected to the mainland by a 17th-century stone bridge. With origins dating back to the 3rd century B.C., Trogir is a living museum of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance architecture.

On arrival, join a guided walking tour through its UNESCO-listed old town, where you'll explore narrow alleyways, hidden courtyards and historic landmarks including the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, noted for its 13th-century portal carved by Master Radovan. The rest of the day is yours at leisure — perhaps enjoy a harbourside meal, visit the town's small museums or explore the local market. You'll dock overnight in Marina Baotić, giving you more time to experience Trogir's well-preserved historic centre. (B/L)

After breakfast, disembark your ship in Marina Baotić and transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Please ensure your flight departs no earlier than 12:00 to allow ample time for your transfer from the port. (B)

Dalmatian Elegance in Croatia 1 , SA, Australia, Jul 2022
Everything to do with the cruise was excellent, the staff, the ship, daily activities destinations and food. The pre trip service was poor. It took a while for the group to be found at Split airport. The pre-tour service was bad. Day one we were not contacted about what the arrangements were for the following day’s embarkation. Information, when read more it was provided on day 2 was confusing, contradictory and it seemed disorganised. I was so annoyed that I withdrew from the information sharing activity when the person arrived. It was warm the day we boarded ship, bit of a trek from the hotel to the wharf. Either get a hotel closer or a minibus. We didn’t need to stay such an expensive hotel, although the staff there were very good.
Beautiful cruise on Dalmatian coast 1 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2022
The Avangard was a well appointed small ship. The crew were superb and so were the meals. Tour director on boat knew his stuff well and did a good job showing us the different towns and cities. Small disappointment was the local guide at Split who did not turn up to pick us up at airport. I had to ring her up to collect our whole group of 9. She only read more appeared on day 2 to introduce herself to us. Other than this transfer issue, the rest of our tour was very good.
Dalmatian Elegance cruise via Insight 5 , Victoria, Australia, Aug 2018
This small ship cruise is a must for all. The very best way to cruise, if you don't like those big ships with thousands of people.
