Itinerary

Welcome to the land where it's always 70 degrees and sunny, Los Angeles. The place where dreams are made (and broken), La La Land is a city that exudes talent, creativity and drive, spilling out into its countless theatres, galleries, museums and street art hubs. Arriving today, you'll meet up with your Travel Director in the afternoon to get a glimpse of what's to come on your LA to New York tour, before hitting the streets to explore LA your way.

Perhaps the lure of the famous Venice neighbourhood will pull you in, where you can wander down Venice Beach and explore its many boutiques and seaside cafes, or maybe head to Griffith Observatory for a spot of stargazing. Feeling hungry? LA's food scene needs little introduction, offering California's best tacos, tasty Korean food and more health food options than anywhere else in the country.

This morning's tour will show you the glitz and glamour of LA, visiting Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Heading on to the neon lights of Las Vegas, see the city at its finest on our optional 'Sights and Lights' tour. (B)

Today, get out of town on our Optional Experience venturing to Hoover Dam for the chance to admire the USA's biggest man made reservoir Lake Mead, or perhaps enjoy a dinner at Spice Market Buffet and a singalong at Vegas! The Show.

Get ready to get your kicks on Route 66! Stop by Kingman and Seligman as you drive this very iconic highway for a taste of all things Americana, before finishing up this evening in Flagstaff.

One of the world's 7 natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site, take your time exploring the Grand Canyon or make your visit extra special with our Optional Experience, a once in a lifetime flying experience over the North and South Rims.

Today, you will be treated with a tour in an open-air vehicle that will take you through this beautiful Navajo land. This evening, join in the Earth Spirit Theater and view an original John Wayne movie filmed in and around Monument Valley. (B)

Head to the UNESCO listed Mesa Verde National Park this morning, which protects nearly 5,000 archaeological sites and offers a fascinating insight into Native American history. Then, head to the old Colorado mining town of Durango.

Travel deeper into Wild West country as you journey towards old and beautiful Santa Fe. Have time for lunch in Taos, New Mexico before heading to the Santa Fe Plaza to admire crafts and jewellery sold by Native American sellers, or sip margaritas and toast to the electric sunset. (B)

Learn about the 400 year old history of The Plaza and stop by the Palace of the Governors on a sightseeing tour this morning, then this afternoon you are free to explore. Guests can also opt to take a tour at the Allan Houser Sculpture Garden. (B)

On your journey today, stop by the Cadillac Ranch, an emblem of Route 66. You'll be ending your day with an arrival in Amarillo for the night. (B)

Arriving in the 'Big D' today you'll have time to explore as you please. Enjoy your day at leisure and perhaps head out for a cold and well deserved beer. (B)

This morning you'll have the chance to visit a place of high drama, scandal and romance. The famous home of the Ewing Family, Southfork Ranch has a special place in the nation's hearts as the star of the hit TV show Dallas. As you tour the mansion, re-live exciting moments from the show and enjoy a special place in TV history. This afternoon, experience a slice of real Texan life at the Fort Worth Cattle Drive as you watch true Texan handlers drive their longhorn cattle. (B)

Leaving the big city antics of Dallas behind, today you'll head on to Lafayette. This bubbly little university town is a real under the radar gem and may just end up being one of the surprising stand out stars of your entire trip. Tonight, perhaps you could head down to Randol's, where you can eat crab cake au gratin and scoot around the dance floor with the locals to live Cajun tunes. (B)

Discover more about Lafayette's Cajun culture at the Acadian Cultural Centre this morning, then it's on to the 'Big Easy'. Perhaps enjoy a lunch of po boys or jambalaya. Guests can also opt to visit the Southern Food & Beverage Museum & pop up dinner. (B)

The choice is yours today to participate in an Optional Experience or explore on your own. If the swamps of the Mississippi are calling today, join a boat trip to spot 'gators and eagles. You could also opt to join a step on sightseeing tour that will take you to the French Quarter, Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral or hop onboard a steamboat jazz dinner cruise. (B)

This afternoon, you'll arrive in the music obsessed city of Memphis. Home to the King who needs little introduction, musical history and influence run through the streets with bluesy Beale Street setting a fine example of this. It was also here in 1968 that Martin Luther King was assassinated during the Civil Rights Movement. Finally, you'll put Memphis' legendary barbecue reputation to the test. The gluttonous portions of smoky pulled pork and juicy ribs will defeat even the keenest of eaters. (B)

This morning you will get the chance to make the pilgrimage to Graceland or enjoy an optional guided tour around Sun Studio this evening, where Elvis was first discovered back in 1954.

Enjoy an Iconic Breakfast at The Arcade before friendly southern hospitality welcomes you to Nashville today. Get your bearings on a tour of Riverfront Park, Tennessee State Capitol and Centennial State Park. (B)

Delve into the incredible musical history of the city today with a visit to Music Row, stopping off at Studio B where industry legends like Dolly Parton and the Everly Brothers have all recorded albums. No Nashville musical tour would be complete without a snoop around the Country Music Hall of Fame, so you'll also visit here to trace the history of country music and enjoy priceless memorabilia from Hank Williams and Loretta Lynn. With the rest of the afternoon and evening then yours, why not scout out the tastiest hot chicken and biscuits of the city, dishes synonymous with the south. (B)

Arriving into Pigeon Forge and with a free afternoon, you could visit OJ Simpson's white Ford Bronco or step onboard a detailed replica of the Titanic. Tonight, perhaps add an Optional Experience to visit the wild horse riding tricks and decadent food of the Dollywood Stampede. (B)

It's a short drive into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park this morning, where lush forests and fields of wildflowers bloom all year round. Group will overnight adjacent to Natural Bridge Historic Landmark and The Caverns at Natural Bridge. Enjoying an evening at leisure, guests can enjoy the surrounding scenery of Natural Bridge State Park (B)

Guests will travel to Natural Bridge Caverns and take a Natural Bridge Caverns Tour before visiting beautiful Shenandoah National Park. This evening you'll arrive in Washington D.C. (B)

Kick today off with a sightseeing tour of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the jewel in America's political crown, the White House. This afternoon treat your cultural side to the museums of the Smithsonian Institution before joining our Optional Washington Illumination Tour.

NYC beckons today, but not before a visit to 'Philly'. A UNESCO World Heritage city, you'll have time to eat lunch here, likely involving a cheesesteak sandwich, before heading on to New York. Enjoy an orientation tour, then this evening you can get acquainted on your own terms with the city's famous foodie scene.

On your last morning, perhaps head out for one final cream cheese bagel before heading to the airport, or if you're not ready to say goodbye just yet, perhaps extend your stay in NYC for a few more days.
