We recently travelled with Bunnik on a tour through Northern Spain & Portugal. The tour was very good and only a small group of 9 of us. Our Tour leader was great with his guidance, suggestions and able to speak the local language and knowledge of the countries. We had terrific bus drivers as well. All accommodation was clean, comfortable and staff read more helpful when needed. Breakfast at all the accommodation were plentiful and a good variety to suit many nationalities. The places we visited on this tour were lovely and local guides showed us around their town/village with pride and shared their history and stories. Our favourite places were in the Pyrenees mountain region, the lakes, rivers, valleys were beautiful to drive through in Northern Spain. Porto in Portugal was a special favorite as well where the accommodation was along the river with an easy walk if you wanted into the town, our weather was also 99% perfect. Would highly recommend this tour.
A tour filled with contrasts 1

This was an enjoyable tour filled with interesting places, some lovely towns and villages, and great food. The weather was mainly cool with some rain at times. The itinerary was sometimes packed and rushed as there was so much to see. Our driver was outstanding. All in all, a very good tour. Global Journeys provided its usual efficient and friendly service through Hannah.

May 2019 was a great time for this Bunnik tour as it was not too hot in southern Portugal. Plenty of room on the coaches and very informative and entertaining guides. Our second tour booked through Global journeys and great service at a great price.
Overall we enjoyed our Northern Spain Portugal trip. 8

Our guide Fernando was awesome and often went out of his way to assist us. We were fortunate to have delightful travelling companions and everyone got on well . It is our opinion that the tour would work better in reverse and another day should be added to Madrid. There was just not enough time to see all that Madrid had to offer. Reversing the tour read more would mean some half day tours would be in the morning instead of the afternoon, particularly Evora. It was a very hot day and an afternoon walking tour was extremely unpleasant.
The accommodation in Madrid at the Sterling Hotel was way, way below standard. The room allocated to my husband and myself barely fitted a double bed ( not queen), there was no space for luggage, the bathroom was sub standard and the breakfast was the worst we had on the tour. (I tried to put my complaints on the Bunnik website but was unable to do it.) (GJ: That's OK Bruce & Pat, we'll pass them on.) (Update: Bunnik have amended this itinerary in the 2019 season)

Would definitely book through Global Journeys again and would consider another Bunnik tour. The highlight for us was Northern Spain as the scenery was spectacular and wonderful towns and villages. We were a bit disappointed with the Algarve region as we didn't think we saw the best of this area or had enough options to explore on our own. Overall though the tour was fantastic.
