Great tour of Tassie West Coast 0 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2022
As always Global Journeys were great to work with when deciding and booking our AAT Kings Tassies Parks and Nature tour. Thanks Georgie for your professionalism. Our tour was well run with a great guide (Dave) and excellent driver (Tom). Felt very safe throughout the tour. Tour was well placed. Boat cruise on the Gordon River and Sarah Island was excellent. ...read more Accommodation was good and most hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Included meals were good. Added bonus of 2 drink vouchers when having included dinners was also a nice inclusion. One hotel needs to update their staff on the conditions of use of these vouchers. I think AAT kings were going to address the issue as well.

Included stops were good. The only disappointment was the Wall in the Wilderness being deleted from our itinerary. As we stayed extra nights in Launceston after the tour we were able to travel there ourselves. AAT Kings need to resolve the issues that have prevented them visiting as other tour operators include it in their itineraries. Will happily use Global Journeys for future holidays and also AAT Kings.
A great Tasmanian holiday 0 , Hong Kong, Jan 2020
Everything was good, selection of hotel, meals, tour leader, driver, the coach, the pace, the excursions. We felt looked after. I especially enjoyed the river cruise at Strahan, the Cradle Mountain experience, and the winery lunch and wine tasting at Launceston - all three are included activities.
Tassie's Parks & Nature 2 , ACT, Australia, Mar 2018
I like small group travel and somehow that got lost in my booking process. There were 44 of us, Far too many, although it was a very good prompt group, except for one couple - there's always one! So, no, I wouldn't book with this company again.

After lots of travel both here and overseas where I've experienced great guides, this one was not one of ...read more those; she needs a lot of coaching on how to use a microphone, her descriptions and advice re things to see and do in spare time were rambling and we learnt a lot about her family - not what I want to learn when travelling in a new area.
I would definitely go on an AAT Kings tour again 0 , Australia, Jan 2014
Enjoyed the tour operators' experience in showing us features/areas I would not have done on my own. A friendly, mixed group of people on our tour, you could dine with someone every meal, or choose to have free time in your room. Most accommodation was very good, all were clean but the meals at Strahan and Cradle Mountain were standouts. The walk along ...read more the lake at Cradle Mountain was fabulous and would have preferred more time walking around this natural beauty. I would definitely go on an AAT Kings tour again, this time Western Australia, money permitting.
Enjoyed our tour although itinerary was disrupted by fires 0 , Australia, Jan 2013
Susy and I enjoyed our West Coast Tasmanian tour although we couldn't go to some of the places affected by the fires (e.g Russell Falls). The tour director, the driver as well as our fellow passengers were excellent. Thanks a lot!
Exceptional tour 1 , Australia, Jan 2013
I'm completing this survey on behalf of my dad (Theo Kurrer). He is a South African resident & has since returned home (he is not great with technology, so asked me to complete this for him). He loved the tour - the tour guide, coach, accommodation, fellow tour participants, food and activities were all exceptional.
We will go back soon and visit the places we particularly loved 1 , Australia, Feb 2011
We really enjoyed this tour thank you Georgina. Brett, our driver guide was excellent and his knowledge of history and the farming ventures in the state was enlightening. We had lovely food and accommodation generally. The group we travelled with was a good mix of people and we enjoyed their company. We will go back soon and visit the places we particularly ...read more loved and would like to have had more time at, such as Cradle Mountain and Freycinet. This tour was a good overview of Tasmania and this was our reason for taking the tour. The accommodation at Strahan was a little disappointing - after viewing the website we expected better rooms, although the restaurant was lovely. Hadleys in Hobart was a great location but the rooms we had were either very tiny or noisy from the exhaust system from the kitchen - so much so that the mirror on the wall was vibrating which meant the wall was also, not good for an historic building! We think if you go upmarket and take a small tour you don't really want anything cheap. We would rather have luxury and pay more. The accommodation in Launceston was really lovely as were the Tarraleah cottages. We did not get to walk around Dove Lake but we did visit the Tassie Devil Sanctuary at Cradle Mountain. The group could have split there for non walkers/walkers as both would have taken about 2 hours. Maybe some tours with a level of fitness as a requirement would be better. The train trip up to Queenstown should have been included as a next day agenda and the bus could have met us in Queenstown. Not many did the train trip as it was too big a day after the Gordon River cruise. I think a driver/guide makes a trip. The tour companies need to look after them. Also the guide we had at Cradle Mountain was excellent.
The places visited were great, especially the National Parks 0 , Australia, Feb 2011
We had a terrific time with Brett our driver and tour guide, and other travelling companions. Brett was always very well organised, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the places to which we travelled. Thank you very much Brett. Accommodation and places visited were great, especially National Parks eg Mount Field. Loved Stahan and the Wilderness ...read more railway which we recommend. We would have liked a little more time at Dove Lake to do a little walk but appreciate there were a number of older people (older than us and frail) on the trip who would find this difficult. Another day in Launceston would be good rather than go to the Wilderness Chalet (Lemonthyme) however staying in the chalet was very pleasant indeed and we had a lovely dinner and breakfast. We know that we can not do everything in the time available and enjoy nature in preference to cities. We loved staying in the little hydro town in the highlands however this was the only place that the meals were very disappointing particularly the breakfast which was dreadful. Excellent tour overall and we really relaxed. Came back singing the praises of the tour and Tasmania generally.
