When you travel on one of their guided tours, Luxury Gold are committed to your wellbeing. It’s not a new thing, the health and wellbeing of guests and the team has always been, and always will be Luxury Gold’s primary concern. That’s why, in this changing world where health has become a major concern across the world, you can travel with Luxury Gold, confident that they have put numerous new measures in place to elevate on trip hygiene standards and protocols.

In this new, fast changing COVID-19 era, the team at Luxury Gold are doing all they can to adapt to new requirements and expectations. Here are some important new steps and procedures that have been implemented to enhance hygiene protocols, to comply with physical distancing requirements by relevant government authorities and to give you the needed peace of mind during your travels in these new times.

Expertly Trained Travelling Concierges and Wellbeing Directors

A dedicated Wellbeing Director, up to date on the latest health authority and local government guidelines, will be available on all Luxury Gold trips of more than 20 guests in all destinations except Japan. They will ensure daily adherence to all wellbeing protocols and will always be available to support you. Supported by the Wellbeing Director, your Travelling Concierge who has been newly trained in enhanced hygiene and distancing standards, will monitor compliance and guest wellbeing.

A Full Team of Support 24/7

It’s not just your Travelling Concierge and Driver who will be taking care of you. Behind the scenes, Luxury Gold’s operations and guest support teams are in contact and on call 24/7, so you can rest assured that you’re in good hands.

Stringent on the Road Protocols

Luxury Gold’s customized luxury coaches are sanitised before the start of your trip and have always been kept to very high standards. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, Luxury Gold have taken additional measures to elevate their hygiene and sanitary practices in accordance with guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and as required, applicable government regulations.

All Luxury Gold drivers are trained with the latest hygiene protocols and will clean and disinfect all surfaces including handrails, door handles, tables, seats, air-conditioning filters and overhead lockers on a daily basis.

All guests are asked to follow hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organization including the thorough and regular washing of hands and sanitising when required. Hand sanitiser is freely available on board for all guests to use throughout the day. Please bring your own washable face mask and gloves with you, as these are required to be worn in public in some countries, and additional hand sanitiser to make you feel comfortable. Should an unexpected situation arise, additional face masks, rubber gloves, antiviral sprays and wipes are available for guest distribution on all trips.

Already selective in who they work with, Luxury Gold choose to use only hotels, restaurants, ground handlers and venues that take the health and wellbeing of their guests as seriously as they do and agree to meet expected guidelines and specifications. They will only work with establishments that they are confident will consistently adhere to their standards.

Smaller Groups, More Personal Space

With an average of 28 guests on a Luxury Gold trips there’s less queuing whilst embarking and disembarking, as well as at hotels and attractions, so it’s easier to maintain a comfortable physical distance. New protocols will manage the embarking and disembarking of guests On guided journeys in Europe and North America you travel on our customised luxury coaches with fewer seats and you not only enjoy twice the legroom of a standard coach but also more personal space on board. We also offer Special Small Group Departures with an average of 15 guests, affording you even more of an opportunity to physically distance should you wish.

Seating and Rotation

Guests, families and groups of friends travelling together will be seated together at all times and solo travellers will be allocated two seats wherever possible. Seat rotation may be limited depending on the vehicle you are travelling on and your Travel Director or Travelling Concierge will be sure to assist where possible with seating requests.

Always in the Know

As part of The Travel Corporation (TTC), Luxury Gold is kept up to date with all government advisories and travel alerts on a daily basis and is continually in touch with all of our partners on the ground in each destination. Also, rest assured that during your trip, our teams work to ensure our supplier partners (hotels, restaurants, museums and other venues) are also applying the same standard to these new hygiene and distancing protocols, to the extent possible.

Personal Responsibility

These enhanced hygiene protocols have been added to Luxury Gold’s daily operations for you, other guests, and the team who look after you on tour. In choosing to travel with Luxury Gold, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. As we have learned, this is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the World Health Organisation and government health bodies, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

Luxury Gold ask that you please take personal responsibility for your wellbeing. This begins with packing any personal protective equipment and sanitisers you require. Please adopt physical distancing and hygiene practises throughout your pre-trip travel arrangements and follow all health instruction whether physical signage, or requests from their professional staff once you are on tour.

Pre- trip Health Declaration

All guests will be asked to complete a personal wellness declaration before joining their trip. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are travelling with someone who has, you will not be able to join the trip until cleared as ‘fit for travel’ by a medical professional. (Your Travel Director and Travelling Concierge will also submit a Self-Health Declaration prior to the trip as well as post trip).

Air Travel

Specific details will vary by airline, but standard operations typically include flight attendants wearing masks, sanitising all surfaces between flights and enhanced hygiene protocols. Check with your airline for any change of travel plan fees as these may still apply outside the TTC Flexibility Guarantee timeframe of 30 days.

Pre-trip Email

You’ll receive a Pre-Trip email from your Travel Director or Travelling Concierge sharing health and hygiene guidelines in accordance with local directives specific to your trip as well as information related to recognising COVID-19 symptoms.

Post Trip Survey

At the end of your trip, you’ll be able to share your opinions of your experience, allowing Luxury Gold to continually improve their service for the benefit of future guests.
