Itinerary

Fly to Kota Kinabalu in the Malaysian state of Sabah, on Borneo. On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (D)

Spend the morning exploring the city, visiting the Yayasan Sabah (Sabah Foundation) building, wandering the Sabah State Museum, where you can learn about the state's diverse cultural and natural heritage, and seeing some of the city's beautiful architecture, including the Blue Mosque and Chinese Temple. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B/L/D)

Head out of the city into the glorious nature. Make a stop at Nabalu village to taste some fruit and browse the local handicrafts before arriving at the Poring hot springs. Search for wildlife on the canopy walkway before enjoying a soak in one of the hot mineral pools set in landscaped gardens. Then, enter the wilds of Kinabalu National Park to discover the flora and fauna that lives around the foot of the 4,095-metre-high Mount Kinabalu. (B/L/D)

Fly to the city of Sandakan, heading straight to the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary on arrival. Here, you'll get your first glimpse of Borneo's most famous resident as you watch rescued orangutans being prepared to go back into the wild. Next door is the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, where you can learn about the world's smallest bear.

This afternoon, cruise up the Kinabatangan River to reach your jungle lodge accommodation, followed by another cruise to spot wildlife on the river's gloriously biodiverse banks. (B/L/D)

Rise early and board a boat to the tranquil Pitas Lake where you can view the copious birds and animals that live around it, returning to the lodge for breakfast. Then, cruise upriver to a riverside lodge and settle in for the next two nights.

Later in the afternoon, head back onto the river for another wildlife spotting cruise. You could spot anything from hornbills to pygmy elephants! (B/L/D)

Cruise peacefully across the waters of Oxbow Lake at dawn in search of more wonderful wildlife before heading back to the lodge for breakfast. Enjoy the rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch, explore the magnificent Gomantong Caves. Set in a limestone outcrop in a beautiful forest, the cave system is home to millions of bats and swiftlets. (B/L/D)

Depart the lodge by river, enjoying your final immersion in the sights and sounds of the jungle. Pause at a jungle lodge for lunch before arriving at Sandakan airport to fly back to Kota Kinabalu. (B/L/D)

Fly to Singapore. On arrival at the airport, you'll be transferred to your hotel where the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore. (B/L/D)

Embark a full day tour of Singapore. Begin in the historic neighbourhoods of Chinatown and Kampong Glam, where you can soak up local culture and learn about the art of ‘teh tarik' (tea pulling). Pass Parliament House on the way to Merlion Park, where you'll get excellent views over Marina Bay. Arrive at the Fullerton Hotel via a hidden walkway for a delicious High Tea. Cruise the Singapore River as the sun sets then, post dinner, explore the magnificent Gardens by the Bay and enjoy its iconic light show. (B/L/D)

After breakfast you will be transferred to Singapore's cruise terminal to board your cruise. The rest of the day is free to explore the ship's facilities and settle in. Throughout your cruise, when your ship comes into port, there will a range of excursions available to help you explore each destination. These excursions are at your own expense and are bookable on your cruise reservation. (B/L/D)

Find your favourite spot to gaze out over the sparkling blue of the Gulf of Thailand, be it a café, on deck or from your cabin, as your cruise towards your final port of call. (B/L/D)

One of Thailand's many paradise islands, your time on Koh Samui can easily be spent lazing on a beautiful beach or discovering some of the island's glorious nature. There's also the Big Buddha to view, sat on an island just off the coast. (B/L/D)

Port at Laem Chabang, which gives you access to Thailand's vibrant capital. Here, you can visit the golden roofed palaces and temples among the gleaming skyscrapers and grab some delicious Thai food. (B/L/D)

While away the day exploring the plentiful amenities of your cruise ship. Why not relax by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or try a lively dance lesson. (B/L/D)
