Today you’ll visit the Muskoka Discovery Centre, a one-of-a-kind museum that celebrates the history, environment and Indigenous peoples of Muskoka through inspiring, interactive exhibits. After breakfast in your hotel, you’ll set out west today, bound for Ottawa. Straddling the World Heritage-listed Rideau Canal, Ottawa was established as Canada's capital in 1857 and has evolved into one of the country's most vibrant and exciting cities. It’s famous for its glorious architecture, ranging from the grand Gothic parliament buildings to neoclassical universities and elaborate embassies.
The iconic Fairmont Chateau Laurier, located steps away from Parliament Hill, is your home for the next two nights. This opulent luxury hotel is often called the ‘third chamber of Parliament’ for all the politicians and dignitaries who have frequented its suites since 1912.
