Cruise Itinerary

Departs: 18:00

The whole of the Maltese capital Valletta is UNESCO World Heritage listed and occupies a peninsula in the north-east of the island. From the fountain of Tritons to Saint-Elme fort, there are as many majestic streets as there are narrow staircase vennels to explore. The painted loggia and carved corbels on the tall houses will accompany you in your explorations, and you’ll rarely be bothered by traffic.

You can visit the Grandmasters palace decorated with coats of arms and frescoes. Saint-John’s cathedral and the ramparts which have guarded the city since the 16th century are also among the most emblematic sites of the city. Arranged in terraces, the Barrakka Gardens will punctuate your promenade with a green and floral experience.

Arrives: 08:00 Departs: 17:00

Honey-coloured Syracuse is a staggering UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an extraordinary Sicilian city of immense ancient history. It is one of the oldest cities in the Mediterranean, with a wonderful collection of historical sites from both the ancient Greek and Roman time periods.

Top Things to Do in Syracuse:

  • explore the Neapolis Archaeological Park
  • stroll through Ortigia, the historic centre
  • visit the baroque town of Noto
  • explore Catania and Mt. Etna
  • sample some wine at Pupillo Winery

Arrives: 14:00 Departs: 19:00

Located in the Apulia region, Otrante is the easternmost transalpine town. Behind its medieval ramparts, you will taste the sweetlife of Salento, the “heel on Italy’s boot”. Inhabited since Antiquity, Otrante has today become a very pleasant seaside town. Yet its history is still visible as you meander through the little streets of its old centre. With its magnificent 12th century ornamental mosaic tiling, the Cathedral is one of its most beautiful treasures. During a stroll along the ramparts, you can sit and relax at a café terrace.

Arrives: 08:45 Departs: 17:00

Situated in one of Montenegro’s most beautiful bays, the medieval city of Kotor is a small town full of charm, truly imbued with the traditions and stories of another time. Built between the 12th and 14th centuries, this village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has preserved many historical monuments from this epoch. During your stop, be sure to admire the impressive castle that dominates the town, and let yourself fall under the charm of its maze of small streets and intimate squares on which folk festivals featuring magnificent colourful costumes are often organised.

Departs: 19:30

Emblem of the Dalmatian coast, Dubrovnik is magnificently positioned on a rocky spur. History is sovereign here, in this ancient city, now a listed UNESCO World Heritage site. You will perhaps be surprised by the proportions of La Placa, the central drag through the city. The sheer width of it can be explained by the fact that it straddles a former lagoon.

The elegant houses along La Placa are built in the legendary travertine stone. At Pile gate, you will be greeted by the statue of the patron saint of Dubrovnik, and you can admire the coastline as you walk along the ramparts. But what’s inside Fort Saint John, adjoining the outer walls? A maritime museum and an aquarium featuring rare fish from the Adriatic.

Arrives: 07:00 Departs: 14:00

Vis Island, located in the Adriatic Sea off Croatia’s coast, is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty and rich history. As one of the most remote Croatian islands, Vis offers a tranquil retreat with crystal-clear waters, secluded beaches, and charming villages.

The island is home to the historic town of Vis, where visitors can explore ancient ruins, Venetian architecture, and the Archaeological Museum. Komiža, another picturesque village, is known for its vibrant fishing culture and beautiful harbour. The Blue Cave on the nearby Biševo Island is a must-see, offering a magical experience as sunlight creates a glowing blue light inside the cave. With its blend of history, culture, and natural wonders, Vis Island provides an idyllic escape.

Port:Vis

Discover the beauty of Vis on the island of the same name, an unspoilt haven that has been timidly opened to tourism since 1990, following Croatia's independence.

Fall under the spell of its historical heritage, which includes Roman ruins and Venetian architecture. Simplicity and authenticity are the watchwords of this rural territory, which is geared towards organic agriculture as well as responsible viticulture and fishing.

Arrives: 08:30 Departs: 21:30

Piran, a charming coastal town in Slovenia, is renowned for its Venetian architecture and scenic beauty. Start a visit at Tartini Square, named after the famous violinist Giuseppe Tartini, whose statue graces the plaza. Explore the narrow, winding streets leading to St. George’s Parish Church, offering breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea from its bell tower.

Stroll along the picturesque promenade and enjoy fresh seafood at local restaurants while watching the sunset over the water. The town's medieval walls are perfect for a leisurely walk, providing panoramic views of Piran and its surroundings. For a taste of local culture, visit the Maritime Museum and learn about Piran’s rich maritime heritage.

Arrives: 07:30

Proud and eternal, Venice has reigned on its lagoon ever since the 6th century. You may think you know this city before even setting foot here. You will inevitably fall in love with the charm of the innumerable treasures of the Serenissima: Saint Mark’s square, the basilica, Doges palace, the Grand Canal and the gondolas. Yet, secret Venice is also waiting for you to explore its little interlacing streets and canals, to ramble through its squares and to push open the doors of its churches. The city’s extraordinary heritage shouldn’t stop you from enjoying a glass of Spritz and a few tramezzini.

Arrives: 08:00

Venice, a city built on a network of canals, offers a mesmerizing blend of art, architecture, and history. Glide through the Grand Canal to see iconic landmarks like the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Basilica. I’m a Ponant fan! 2 , ACT, Australia, Apr 2024
Loved everything about our Ponant cruise. Excursions were well organised and having a Ponant crew member as support was a big plus. Restaurant staff were charming and service was impeccable. Quizzes, dance lessons and shows were a lot of fun. We specifically loved the ambience of a small ship. So great, even my teenage granddaughter had the best read more time and never bored. Highly recommended!
