West Coast Discovery

Meet your Tour Directors this afternoon before setting off on an informative tour of the city. The tour includes a visit to Kings Park, a tranquil oasis in Perth that offers panoramic views over the CBD and a stunning display of the region's wildflowers when in season.

Departing Perth, we travel east through John Forrest National Park, stopping in the historic town of York to explore the York Motor Museum with its vast collection of cars and bikes. We then continue to Hyden, home to the stunning Wave Rock - a 15-metre-high granite formation with vibrant colours and nearby ancient Aboriginal rock art.

Continuing our travels, we journey towards the far-east mining district of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, a major economic hub for this part of the State. Arriving by the afternoon, we enjoy a town tour which includes a visit to the incredible Super Pit mine, one of Australia's largest open pit gold mines.

Changing course towards the south, we venture through Kambalda and Norseman to the seaside town of Esperance. Along the way, there are often spectacular wildflower displays that we will stop to admire. Upon our arrival at the coast, we take the scenic Great Ocean Drive, which includes Rotary Lookout and showcases Esperance's spectacular coastline of tranquil bays, soaring cliffs and beautiful beaches.

WA's southern coastline makes for an epic drive as we head west travelling through Ravensthorpe and Jerramungup. A visit to Bluff Knoll Lookout in the majestic Stirling Range National Park with a guided tour caps off our day before arriving in the whaling town of Albany.

A short drive offers breathtaking views of the Natural Bridge and The Gap, dramatic coastal formations in Torndirrup National Park. Nearby, the Discovery Bay Tourism Experience features a captivating whaling museum that highlights the region's maritime history. We continue with a spectacular marine cruise through Albany's harbour aboard a catamaran, followed by a self-guided audio tour at the National Anzac Centre.

Today we visit the Ancient Empire - a grove of veteran Karri and Tingle trees located within the Walpole-Nornalup National Park. To get a closer look, we'll join the world class Valley of The Giants tree top walk, which soars gently upwards amidst the Tingle foliage.

This afternoon we continue through the various state forests of the southwest before arriving at Margaret River, Western Australia's premium wine growing region.

This morning, we travel south on a picturesque drive through Karridale and Augusta to Cape Leeuwin where we join a guided tour of the old historic lighthouse. We make our way back to Margaret River for lunch and wine tasting, followed by some leisure time in the afternoon.

We farewell Margaret River and begin our journey back to Perth. On the way, stop at Busselton on the shores of Geographe Bay, with time to wander along Western Australia's longest jetty, stretching 1.7 kilometres.

Continuing along the scenic route through the Tuart forests, we make our way to Bunbury and take in the impressive views over the harbour and city from a local lookout.

Joining the Rottnest Express to Wadjemup, we make Rottnest Island for our overnight stay.

Explore Perth's pocket paradise, Rottnest Island, on an informative coach tour. Take in the island's most spectacular sights and perhaps even meet a friendly quokka or two. Enjoy some free time before a relaxing lunch.

Later, board the Rottnest Express for a scenic return to Perth.

Our journey continues north to Nambung National Park, home to the fascinating limestone formations known as The Pinnacles. We'll take some time to explore this unique landscape before travelling onwards through Geraldton, eventually reaching the small and scenic town of Kalbarri.

Our next destination is Kalbarri National Park, home to Red Bluff - a stunning lookout offering panoramic ocean views from atop 100-metre cliffs, and a perfect vantage point to spot marine life. From here, we visit Z-Bend with its vibrant displays of wildflowers.

Later, take in the Kalbarri Skywalk, a breathtaking project featuring twin skywalks that float more than 100m above the Murchison River Gorge. Our destination is Monkey Mia on Shark Bay, where we spend the next 2 nights.

Home to an abundance of wild dolphins, your morning in Monkey Mia starts with a rare up-close encounter at the daily dolphin feeding experience (subject to appearance).

In the afternoon, board a catamaran to spot the bay's diverse marine life and admire the striking contrast of Monkey Mia's rusty red sand dunes against its turquoise waters.

The Shark Bay Discovery Centre celebrates the region's rich biodiversity and explores the area's World Heritage listing. With new knowledge in hand, the Hamelin Pool Marine Nature Reserve calls us. It is one of only a few places in the world with marine stromatolites, or ‘living fossils'. The coastal town of Geraldton is our evening's destination.

A visit to the magnificent HMAS Sydney II memorial is a must as it is the second memorial outside of Canberra to be recognised as nationally significant. Departing Geraldton, we return to Perth along the “Wildflower Way”. We also travel via Australia's only monastic town, New Norcia, taking a tour through the village - once hidden behind closed doors.

Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel.

This morning, experience a gold pouring at the historical Perth Mint before being transferred to the airport.
