Cruising on the Northern Seas   3 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2024
The initial booking was made on board the same Oceania ship last year. Then we handed the rest to Hannah of Global Journeys. She always does a great job. This cruise sailed to ports in 12 countries. The time in ports were long enough for sightseeing. For most ports there was a shuttle service to near the city visited. It is difficult to choose read more one highlight. We were very impressed with the newish central library in Helsinki which provides not only food for the mind but for the body too. There are restaurant and cafes inside the library. You can prepare food for yourself in the kitchen if you so prefer. You can use the sewing machine to shorten your trousers or borrow an electric guitar to practice your gig there. The library was so well patronised. Some places we liked include the Sculpture Park in Oslo, a canal cruise in Copenhagen, and our own bus trip from Dover to visit the Canterbury Cathedral in the UK, and our train trip to Lubeck from Travermunde. Recent cruise on Oceania Sirena Cruise   14 , VIC, Australia, Oct 2022
This was a 24 days cruise from Portsmouth, UK to Barcelona, Spain, travelling through western coastal France, top of Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, Morocco. As always the cuisine was superb, the service was great. Many of the crew were new, they were most pleasant and tried very hard, but much more for them to learn. Many fellow cruisers agreed that read more after COVID the standard in Oceania has dropped. This is a coast saving strategy, we suppose. Fellow cruisers are experienced travellers, very friendly group, almost all are over 65. My photo was taken in Madeira, an island off the coast of Africa.
