This four-day independent tour gets you closer to the country with an excursion through Chitwan National Park to spot its elusive one-horned rhino and an immersive G for Good community homestay. Spend time with the Tharu community by preparing traditional meals together and explore the surroundings on a sunset cycle to Narayani River.

Itinerary

The accommodations on this trip will take place at the Barauli Community Homestay. Designed to help preserve the culture of the local Tharu people, this homestay is completely run by women, bringing diversified income and sustainable tourism to the region. (D)

In the morning, go on a village walk and visit the local Tharu community surrounding the homestay. After Lunch embark on a jeep drive in Chitwan National Park and try to spot the elusive one-horned rhino. In the evening, enjoy a local Tharu Cultural Dance with the community followed by a local dinner. (B/L/D)

Wake up early and experience the local community by bicycle. In the afternoon, cook local Tharu dishes with local family at their home and enjoy a nice lunch. Later, embark on another jeep drive through the Chitwan National Park. (B/L/D)

After breakfast, head back to Kathmandu. Tour ends on arrival. (B)

Homestay (3 Nights)
Accommodation on this trip consists of small cottages made by the local Tharu community. This is an immersive cultural experience where you see how the local community lives. Although simple, the huts are clean and comfortable. Each hut is outfitted with solar panels to provide hot showers and bathroom facilities may be shared with other guests.
