Overview

Beginning and ending in Civitavecchia, the main seaport of Rome, this immersive 11-day cruise navigates the Amalfi Coast including Sicily and the Gulf of Naples. On this memorable voyage you’ll visit the delightful holiday haven of Gaeta, the picturesque town of Sorrento overlooking the Bay of Naples, and the historic Porto Empedocle. Admire medieval castles on coastal clifftops, sample delicious street food in Palermo and visit lively markets in Valletta in Malta.

Itinerary

Your luxurious yacht cruise begins in Civitavecchia, where you'll be transferred to your Emerald Cruises luxury yacht and embark on your discovery of the Amalfi Coast, Sicily and the Gulf of Naples.

Please book your flight to arrive into Rome prior to 03:00 PM. (D)

Gaeta is a popular holiday destination set on a headland that juts out towards the Gulf of Gaeta, in the Lazio region of Southern Italy. A key attraction in Gaeta is Montagna Spaccata (Split Mountain), a natural sea grotto. According to legend the miraculous split rock was created when God sent a lightning bolt making three giant cracks in the mountain. (B/L/D)

Sorrento is a tempting destination on the Italian coastline, with exceptional sea views, mouthwatering cuisine and bold Italian style. A romantic coastal haven, Sorrento has steep coastal cliffs studded with authentic Italian villas, world-class restaurants with sweeping views of the Bay of Naples and fragrant lemon groves nestled beside tranquil wine bars. (B/L/D)

Enjoy an early morning sail to Salerno. Salerno is in the Campania region of southwestern Italy. One of Salerno's key drawcards is the Duomo di Salerno, a historic cathedral dating back to the 11th century. The city also boasts an impressive medieval castle, Castello di Arechi, which offers panoramic views over the city and the Tyrrhenian Sea. (B/L/D)

Bold and vibrant, Palermo was under Arabian rule in the 9th and 10th centuries, which left a significant influence on its architecture, culture and cuisine. Palermo is famed for its street food — Must-try dishes include pane e panelle (chickpea fritters) and cannoli, sweet pastry filled with ricotta. (B/L/D)

Porto Empedocle, positioned on the Strait of Sicily, is named after the philosopher, poet and politician, Empedocles, who resided there in the 5th century BC. It's a popular holiday haven for beach-loving tourists and is near the Valley of the Temples, the largest archaeological site in the world and an outstanding example of Greater Greece art and architecture. (B/L/D)

Valletta, the capital city of Malta, is a living testament to the Baroque period, with well-preserved buildings, ornate churches, and magnificent fortifications. The city is located on a hilly peninsula, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, and Valletta hosts lively markets and festivals. (B/L/D)

Catania is a bustling city located on the east coast of Sicily, Italy. The city's architecture is a blend of ancient and baroque styles, reflected in the glittering white stuccoes that have earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list. (B/L/D)

Naples, the regional capital of Campania and the third-largest city in Italy, is a bustling metropolis known for its art, architecture, music, and gastronomy. On the outskirts of Naples lies the infamous Mount Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79 AD led to the preservation of the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. (B/L/D)

Naples historic city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasting an array of medieval, baroque, and renaissance-era churches, castles, and palaces. Whether you're an art lover, history buff, or a foodie, Naples offers a slice of authentic Italian culture and history that's hard to match. (B/L/D)

Your luxurious yacht cruise concludes in Civitavecchia, Rome's main seaport, where you'll be transferred to the airport for your return flight home or to continue your holiday.

Please book your flight to depart out of Rome after 12:00 PM.

The itinerary is a guide only and may be amended for operational reasons. As such Emerald Cruises cannot guarantee the cruise will operated unaltered from the itinerary states above. (B)
