This cruise is to be highly recommended. There is nothing like seeing wonderful, scenic new places with lots of castles, palaces and cathedrals and having your motel come along with you! No packing and unpacking your cases! The walking tours at the ports are also fantastic and give you some much required daily exercise as well, as the food onboard is read more excellent! The service on the River Empress is of the very highest standard. From those who look after your staterooms and personal needs, the restaurant and bar service, the reception and motel team, to the Tour Director, everything was first class. We highly recommend this cruise and would love to do it again, this time, maybe from Amsterdam to Budapest. We are SOLD on river cruising!! A hearty big THANK YOU to Global Journeys and Georgie, who helped our dreams come to fruition. Thank you Global Journeys - we will book through you again!
From the moment we arrived at CDG airport until the time we were met by a taxi at the end of the trip we were treated to first class, friendly and knowledgable service. Every tour was well organised and were trouble free. We had one disappointment and that was missing out on Moulin Rouge. If you want to include that then book it early.
The ship was wonderful, staff unbelievably service oriented, tours very well organized and the whole trip was just a wonderful experience. Its the perfect way to see Europe. Uniworld are certainly no bargain but they do a wonderful job and care for the guests is first class. I plan to travel with them again in 2015 which is when I will next have the read more chance to be in Europe over the warm months. In retrospect I am not at all unhappy about the booking that went missing with APT!

The crew on the River Victoria were excellent and really helped make the trip a success. It would have been nice to have a broader range of day trip groups ie. organisation should cater more to slow and fast walkers. In the cabin, it would also have been good to have an ironing board and iron included. Overall my mother and I really enjoyed our Russian read more experience. We booked this tour as we had to attend two trade shows in Europe some 16 days apart. Rather than return to Australia and return to Europe shortly after we decided to have our first real holiday in many years. We are so glad we found this river cruise as my original concerns that we were going on a 'canned tour' were just blown away. Both Jan and I read more had a great time, found the fellow passengers and great staff totally engaging and to have ready to go buses and local guides to show and explain the 'unseen' history, we were able to quickly relax into the flow of the experience. We are already planning our next 'cruising adventure' and as for being organised (canned) the way this was, we are truly ready.
Thank you Yvonne from Global Journeys as you were extremely helpful and although we live in Melbourne, you were able to answer all my questions in a timely manner and there was nothing you were not able to help me with. So thank you again, it is greatly appreciated. The 27 day Grand European River trip with Uniworld was a trip to remember. The River read more Princess is a truly beautiful boat and very luxurious. The food, the service, the staff - all cannot be faulted. Had a totally great time (apart from spraining my hand and ankle 3 weeks in!) and would not hesitate to recommend Uniworld to anybody. We are now saving up for our next Uniworld trip (maybe Russia?). There is no going back to big cruise ship lines now!

Our 27 day Grand European River Voyage river cruise was excellent - it could not be faulted in any way. I must commend Uniworld for their outstanding organisation - everything was very well planned. All staff and crew on board were extremely helpful and polite - nothing was too much trouble for them. I really don't like to single anyone out by I must read more make special mention of the Cruise Manager, Heiner Schmidt - he was fantastic. The daily organisation was perfect with all included options giving a wonderful introduction to each country we visited. The optional tours were excellent also. Of course, how can I finish without mentioning the food and wine? A fantastic epicurean treat. I would like to thank Global Journeys for bringing this tour to our attention, and for Yvonne Brooks' excellent assistance with our bookings and travel information. We had a wonderful experience.

Thank you so much for organising the trip for us. We did not have any problems with your organisation. We really enjoyed the river cruise. It is a great way to travel, not moving bags all the time. The boat, staff, cruise director and tours could not be faulted. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we were so well looked after, it took the worry out read more of travelling so that we were free to have wonderful time. I would definitely travel with Uniworld again (if I could find a deal that was as tempting). They went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly and that you did not miss out on a thing.

The cruise was wonderful. The Uniworld cruise was so relaxing which was exactly what my husband and I both needed. The food was exceptional as were the people we met. If they need to improve anything then perhaps they could have some more night entertainment. They had a piano player playing every night, whereas most cruises offer much more. The piano read more player was very talented and kept us all entertained. However a change of entertainment would have been nice. The tour director was lovely as were the guides. All in all a great cruise.
We loved the tour, everything worked well. Georgie did a good job of the booking. The ship - Uniworld River Baroness was excellent. Without exception every department on the ship was friendly and efficient. The tour guides were well selected and the destinations lived up to our expectations. Monet's Garden was just magnificent. We have travelled many read more times by boat through the rivers of Europe and we consider this to be one of our very best trips. We would consider another trip with the same company. Thanks again.

This cruise is advertised as an 8 day cruise, however you board on Sunday around 3-4pm and depending on your transfer, leave the ship early on the following Sunday morning as the next group boards that afternoon. I believe this is a bit misleading as their are only 7 days in a week and the River Beatrice does a cruise a week. On the positive the ship read more is very comfortable and tastily furnished and decorated. The food and service is better than first class, amazing food as much as you can eat, fine wines, and the most friendly, helpful and professional team on board. The excursions on the whole were very worthwhile and very informative with local guides and interesting sights and stories. I feel it is a little overpriced. We paid $4000 a person and the suggested amount for gratuities for onboard staff per day was 13 euro each guest also worked out for you over 8 days. With expectations that local guides and bus drivers on excursions were to be tipped 2 euros each per guest you can see the cost per couple was around 30 euros per day which is quite a lot in Australian dollars. I would recommend Uniworld to friends but would warn them that whilst it is very luxurious it is an expensive week. Thank you Yvonne for your assistance to us in organising this cruise. This was a fantastic cruise. The only way you could tell the ship was moving was to look out of the windows - no vibration, no noise! And it was worth looking out of the window as the scenery was spectacular. The service on the ship was second to none and the meals were brilliant. The organisation of the shore trips was done very professionally. My read more thanks to Yvonne who arranged all the trip for me - I can certainly recommend it.
