Enjoyable Bordeaux Cruise 1 , SA, Australia, Oct 2023
We didn't get off to a good start as the included transfer to the ship was 40 minutes late to meet us at Bordeaux airport but things improved from there. Overall the cruise was very good and well organized. The ship is in good condition and the cabin was well appointed, comfortable and very well serviced. The cabin size however is on the small side ...read more compared to other river cruise companies we have cruised with but we knew that when we booked and we know that you don't spend a lot of time in the cabin other than sleeping. The bathroom however was tight.

The food and service was very good and drinks were free flowing. The included excursions were all very good and the guides for the excursions were excellent. The passenger mix was about 50% Americans with the balance comprising Australians, British and Malaysians. We did enjoy the cruise but for a cruise longer than 8 days we would choose a river cruise company with larger cabins.
Unbelievable Uniworld 1 , WA, Australia, Sep 2022
If you are looking for a luxury cruise then Uniworld is the one. The Bordeaux, France, cruise is excellent for first time wine buff's to this famed area. The boat has had a very nice fit out and the lounge, dining room, top deck and cabins are a delight to be in. The food matched with Bordeaux wines was excellent, and there is always a number of choices ...read more for all palates. The cabins are fitted out with luxurious bedding and linens to ensure the best nights sleep. We thoroughly recommend this cruise and Uniworld.
A roam around the wineries 5 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2019
This was a bit of an unusual trip compared to other river cruises we have undertaken. Most go from A to B (and maybe back again) along a river but this one seemed to go around in circles due to the nature of the river estuary being explored. This meant that even though we seemed to move a long way, in essence it was only ever a short distance from Bordeaux, ...read more and time and time again we passed the same landmarks. Despite that, it was still an excellent experience with several shore trips to visit small and very picturesque villages and wineries.

We have been on several UniWorld cruises previously and all have been exceptional. My sense is that Uniworld is slowly reducing their level of service and included options that made them a standout amongst river cruise operators. This may be a trend across all operators, which reflects the tough times they are going through. However, if you want to taste the wine growing region of France in a leisurely relaxed fashion then this is a great way to do it.
Uniworld - Bordeaux cruise 5 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2018
The daily excursions were excellent. Each day a different winery in a different part of the Bordeaux region with expert commentary from the local wine makers. The ship doesn't quite come up to the marketing media that one looks at prior to booking. Perhaps their other river boats reflect the brochures?

The crew were, as is usual, from eastern Europe ...read more and were very good at their jobs. Their managers however left quite a bit to be desired. Unlike other river cruise companies we never saw any day time cleaning of the vessel being carried out and after cutting my finger on a nail hanging out of the bottom of a lounge chair I pointed out to the Hotel Manager that the chairs were far from clean and quite a few were "sticky" . The shower had mould and a leak from the sink into the drawer beneath was obviously known to the staff because before my wife could tell them where the leak was they suggested it was into the drawer! That took 3 attempts to fix.

The resident piano player seemed to think that loud was better than background music, subsequently everyone spoke louder than was necessary to be heard over the music, silly. Food was pretty good except the first night when all our main courses were cold and when I asked for a coffee it was presented stone cold, obviously left over from breakfast. Which brings me back to the lack of management. Overall if it wasn't for the excellent excursions the trip would have been a failure. I think we'll stick with Australian companies for future river cruises.
Relaxing journey in wine region 4 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2017
This was our second cruise with Uniworld. Like the first, on this cruise we felt like royalty - the staff were attentive and caring, the food was excellent and the organisation of the shore excursions was very good. As there were only 60 passengers on this cruise it felt very personal.
Cruisey Cruise 2 , New Zealand, Jun 2016
Our Uniworld cruise was the highlight of our five week holiday. Beautiful ship and our stateroom was excellent, as were the lounges and dining room. The food was fantastic. The staff, including the tour guides, were lovely, friendly and accommodating. We met some really nice people amongst the other passengers and there was a range of age-grou ...read moreps.
True Luxury 1 , NSW, Australia, May 2016
Luxury from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble and it was like being Queen of the Castle. Would recommend this trip to anyone. Loved Uniworld.
Very good cruise ship 2 , ACT, Australia, Apr 2015
Cruise ship very good. All staff excellent, friendly and helpful. Excursions well timed and planned. Thanks Yvonne for all your help. Because we had been with Uniworld before they gave us a bag of laundry free, a nice touch. Transfers worked well to airport. Good to have an inclusive price. Our tour guide was good, but repeated everything 3 times - once, ...read more for us anyway, would have been enough!
