Enchanting Rockies and Alaska Cruise Reviews

This tour was enjoyable every day. The Rocky Mountaineer experience was fantastic (we upgraded to Golf Leaf), the coach tour allowed us to see so many wonderful sights and the Holland America Inside Passage cruise was superb. The scenery is spectacular. Our Tour Leader was very knowledgeable and great fun.

Our tour of The Rockies and Alaska was Amazing. After contacting, the warm, friendly and efficient,Tracey Standing at Global Journeys, we were delighted at the smooth process of booking, and the many questions that were answered.
I have a few health issues and was quite nervous at such a big trip. I shouldn’t have worried. Tracey took care of our read more booking and flights with added wheel chair access if needed and all dietary requirements.

Together with TravelmMarvel and their outstanding Staff in Canada we had the most incredible time. Shay our tour guide and Paul our driver looked after everyone with such kindness. Their knowledge of the Rockies, especially Shays, is also invaluable to travellers from afar. The Alaskan cruise was breathtakeing and a must do for everyone travelling these parts of Canada.

Virginia and Corrine from Travelmarvel joined us on Holland America. Any questions or issues, they addressed with a courteous smile and friendliness. We also met some new friends which made this trip even more special. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip. Rachael McSorley, our Travel Advisor at Global Journeys was efficient, professional and so helpful. Lezlie and Sue, the guides and John, our coach Driver, were fantastic, very knowledgeable, professional, organized and lovely people. The scenery was magnificent, the Rocky Mountaineer train was absolutely fantastic, read more the meals and accommodation were great and the fellow travellers really nice! The cruise was beautiful, the staff onboard especially Osman and Adam who serviced our stateroom, were excellent and very friendly and capable. A great experience overall!

My friend and I have just come back from an amazing tour of Canada and Alaska. Can highly recommend this tour and our Travelmarvel guide Jaqi was amazing and the most organised person I have ever met. Our driver Al was just as amazing manoeuvring the coach around tight areas with ease and always getting us to our destination. This tour will give you read more a taste of what there is in this part of Canada - with its beautiful scenery, wildlife and people. Would recommend arriving a day earlier as this tour is on the go for much of the time, but it's okay because you have the opportunity to rest up on the cruise if you wish. Thank you Georgie for organising us and answering all our questions. We had a wonderful time.

From the moment we booked through Jemma at Global Journeys, everything went smoothly and to plan. Any pre tour questions were answered promptly and we booked at a great price. We upgraded to GoldLeaf on Rocky Mountaineer which was well worth the experience. Travelmarvel provided excellent service via experienced tour guides (Natalie and Greg), great read more accommodations close to towns and unique extras. The Alaskan cruise on Holland America Lines was a highlight and seeing the Northern Lights an added bonus! I would highly recommend using all of the above operators.

What an amazing journey. The 2 days on the Rocky Mountaineer lived up to every expectation and it snowed in Banff and Lake Louise. That was a touch of "Christmas" magic in September. On the coach leg, the scenery was majestic and beautiful and it was awesome to stand on the Icefields. The cruise to Alaska on the "Volandam" was a special highlight. The read more weather was amazing. Our float plane flight over the glaciers out of Juneau was picture postcard perfect; the train up to White Pass from Shagway was awe inspiring - incredible landscape coupled with the history of the Klondike and Yukon gold rush. Wow! But "the highlight" was Glacier Bay. A memorable day of soaking the majesty of God's creation and the calving of Margerie Glacier.

It was a great holiday overall. For the land tour visiting Whistler was not necessary, because we arrived late and had to leave early in the morning. Both tour and cruise directors were excellent. However, the airport pick up at Vancouver airport was not well organised. We had to look for the person and had an additional 50 minutes waiting for transport. read more The highlight of the trip was Glacier Bay in Alaska and Victoria in Canada.

This was our first time travelling with Travel Marvel. We found the trip very well organised and had an exceptional tour guide on the Canadian leg of the trip who ensured everyone was having a good time. The accommodation was good, clean and comfortable and we could not complain about the service we were given over the bus tour part of the holiday. read more We travelled on the Rocky Mountaineer and the wildfires were burning around the area we travelled through so maybe a later time in the year may have been a better choice. The weather we had was fantastic, warm and sunny most days.

We had so many favourite things , a highlight was standing on the glacier drinking Maple Whiskey, sunset over the Whistler Mountains (extra tour booked) and spending time around the town of Banff. Our Alaskan cruise was the highlight of the holiday for us. The Holland American line ship was certainly value for money. The ships facilities, meals, service and staff were fantastic and our cabin was clean and comfortable. We had a lower cost room that was more than adequate as such little time is spent in your room. The ports of call were all very interesting and you could spend extra on activities or just explore the area with the Travel Marvel Cruise host who made our trip really enjoyable and her advice allowed us to get everything we could out of day excursions.

We choose extra activities at our ports of call and would highly recommend the Helicopter/dog sledding trip (worth every dollar), White pass train trip which had exceptional views and zip lining for a bit of fun. Another favourite experience was Glacier Bay where the ship went so close to the Glaciers you could hear the rumble of the ice as it cracked and fell into the ocean. If you can afford the extra we would suggest upgrade to Premium economy on the fights as we will do next time as we had lots of family's with upset children on both flights. Had the most enjoyable trip. I have only one complaint and that is our guide for the coach tour should also be our guide on the ship tour. We would love to have the same guide for the whole trip. Our guide Kit Cross is the most phenomenal woman I have ever met. She is so knowledgeable and made everywhere we visited so interesting. We also had a marvellous read more bus driver. Felt very safe where ever we went. He is also a lovely gentleman. I would travel anywhere with Kit as our tour director and Derek our coach driver. Probably Air Canada would not have been the best airline I have travelled on but for the price we paid it was OK.

I would also thank Yvonne from Global Journeys for all her help with my bookings. She is also a lovely person to deal with. There were a few extra excursions ( flyover the Rockies in helicopter) we missed out on because of the weather but having fresh snow fall made up for any disappointment. Also our fellow passengers were a wonderful and friendly group. Our cruise was also fantastic. Thank you.
