Turkey & Greece 0 Kerry and Peter, NSW, Australia, Sep 2024
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Turkey & Greece with Bunnik. Organised perfectly by Georgie as always! We had great tour guides in each country, both enjoying passing on their extensive knowledge. So much history in both countries and the extra tours were enjoyable. The highlight was hot air ballooning in Cappadocia! The weather was perfect throughout read more our trip and we enjoyed our cruise of the Greek Islands and visiting some of the islands. Looking forward to our next trip with Bunnik. Turkiye and Greece adventure 2 Phil and Diana, ACT, Australia, May 2024
Had a great (although fairly tiring) few weeks in Turkiye and Greece with a Bunnik tour. As always, Georgie from Global Journeys did a flawless job of organising everything. The flights home she found for us were amazing. 24 hours from Athens airport to home in Canberra! We'll be back in touch with Georgie soon to lock in our next trip. :)
Cultural Overload of Turkiye & Greece 3 Geoff & Jane, SA, Australia, Aug 2023
We both thoroughly enjoyed touring Turkiye and Greece, having not been to both since travelling from London to Kathmandu in the early seventies. We travelled with a group mostly in their 60's and 70's apart from a 28 year old travelling with her mother. She mixed really well with the oldies. The camaraderie amongst the group of 20 made it very pleasant read more travelling and fun. Accommodation consisted of mainly 4 and 5 star hotels all of which were of a high standard. European bathrooms are not always easy to manage with slippery, narrow baths and showers which flood the floors. Luckily there were no accidents!
Both tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, the Turkiye guide proudly telling us about his country. Both had detailed descriptions of the ancient ruins, at times most of us felt we were overloaded with information and not able to digest everything.
A 3 day cruise to Patmos, Rhodes, Crete and Santorini were included but excursions to the islands had to be paid for. The costs were a ripoff , particularly Santorini where buses had to wait for others to clear and crushing crowds made the visit less enjoyable.
Highlights of the 23 days were ballooning at Cappadocia, tasty meals, some of the ancient ruins, Meteora and the monasteries in the north of Greece and the Plaka in Athens. I would certainly recommend this trip but to be aware of the long days with limited freetime and the emphasis being on ancient ruins. Tiring but exhilarating tour of Turkey and Greece
2 Bill & Claire, NSW, Australia, Sep 2019 Our tour leaders in Turkey and in Greece were very knowledgeable and the guides at each location were excellent. Lots to see and especially interesting if you are a history buff. Accommodation generally in Turkey was excellent but not as good in Greece. Tour pace was very hectic, scheduling of times was not ideal - had 1 bus journey from Konya to Pamukkale read more in Turkey lasting 7.5 hrs (with stops). Not enough free time at each location which made the tour hectic and tiring. However on the whole the tour locations were very good. The highlight of our tour was hot-air ballooning in Cappadocia - fantastic. This in itself made the tour worthwhile. Also had a 3 day cruise of the Greek Isles. The ship was extremely crammed with passengers which made the entire cruise uncomfortable but the ports were very interesting. Global Journeys provided excellent service with documentation and timely reminders. I would definitely use them again. A wonderful tour of Turkey and Greece 2 Wendy & John , ACT, Australia, May 2019
This was a tour for those with an interest in the ancient world and the history of civilisation while experiencing beautiful landscapes and the modern cultures of these countries. The two tour guides, one for Greece and one for Turkey, were faultless in our view and were a major factor in the success of the tour. They managed to bring to life the modern read more and ancient histories of these countries.
The cuisine was the Mediterranean diet on steroids and hotels generally exceeded our expectations. We were very pleased that we were on a smaller group tour - 18 fellow Australians - as there are many more options for exploring as compared to larger group tours. We would like to thank Bunnik and Global Journeys for combining to give us this great experience. Results 1-5 of 5
