Amazing Tasmania! 4 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2017
Overall it was an excellent experience. Company was great, activities varied and interesting, saw amazing sights of Tasmania and could not fault the accommodation! The tour guide was informative and helpful and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Great Tasmanian Adventure 2 , NSW, Australia, Feb 2017
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Hannah for her work in preparing our trip to Tasmania. It will went well and was most memorable. Many thanks for a great tour, Tasmania, Natures Splendours with APT. My friend and I are just back from this tour and are still digesting the many wonderful experiences we enjoyed. We would particularly ...read more like to thank Nada, our Tour Director, and Ron, our driver, for their professionalism, courtesy, friendliness and the care they extended to us all. I am also grateful for your efficiency, in our on-line contact, Hannah, and for your work in organising our trip. All in all, great service. Best wishes.
We'd definitely travel with APT & Global Journeys in the future 1 , United States, Apr 2014
Our tour guide, Jeff, and our bus driver, Ron, were the absolute best. They made a terrific team. Both were extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We just wish we could have had a little more time at several locations (e.g. Stanley, Cradle Mountain). Also, we didn't realize we'd be joining a trip already in progress. This meant ...read more we had no time at all in Hobart. Had we been aware of this situation we could have come to Hobart a day earlier than scheduled and could have enjoyed some time in the city. That being said, the tour was wonderful, especially the time in Strahan. The variety of activities (harbor boat ride, Gordon River exploration, Sarah Island, float plane flight to the Falls, the local community play) made for an interesting day, which was capped off with a dinner voucher to be used at a local establishment in town rather than eating another night at the hotel buffet. Only five of us opted for this choice. We were joined by our guide (Jeff) and the lead from the 'play'. We had a grand time. dealing with Georgie Walpole from afar (USA to Australia), was very easy and she was extremely helpful. Finalizing arrangements and payment were not complicated and handled efficiently. Can't say enough positive about dealing with Georgie and Global Journeys. An Aussie friend living in Melbourne had traveled with APT on previous occasions and she gave the company high marks. We certainly concur with her opinion. We'd definitely travel with APT/Global Journeys in the future.
Would not hesitate to recommend this trip 0 , Australia, Mar 2014
We found the experience totally positive, with very good pace & the right length for what we wanted to experience. Excellent driver and guide, who looked after the group with compassion and understanding when it was required. We would not hesitate to recommend this trip to our friends and family. It was great!
Sightseeing was very interesting, I'd recommend this tour highly 1 , United States, Jan 2013
Jeff is pleasant and interesting and he does the group management part of his job (on and off the coach, counting heads, checking in to hotels, etc.) professionally and carefully without being intrusive or bossy. Pete is a pleasant person and is an awesome driver. They both have great senses of humor. Jeff and Pete work together well. For instance, we got stuck in a long traffic jam on a mountain road after a truck accident shut the road. They were in radio communication with emergency services so they could keep us updated on how long we'd be there, they'd planned to serve us tea and cookies if we got stuck, and by golly they got out the hot water and tea bags and cookies and we had a nice little tea stop right beside the road. Another extra: they made a point of coming to meet the new folks who were joining the tour the night before so as to welcome us and get us oriented as to what to do with our bags and how to find the bus. When we got on the bus Jeff introduced us to the group that had been travelling together so we were more easily accepted into the group. We were not near any fires but I had complete confidence that if we'd been threatened in any way they'd have figured out alternative routes in short order.

The sightseeing was very interesting, especially the Cradle Mountain area and the Gordon River Cruise. But every day was interesting and worthwhile. For dings: the food at the Hamer's Grill in Strahan wasn't too good. The new coach has uncomfortable seats and the seatbelts are too tight (and this is coming from someone who's been happily wearing a seatbelt for many decades.) There are other 'new equipment' problems that will get worked out over time. Some of the seat belts were hard to manage and the toilet door was hard to open and shut. The bucket seats are still pretty stiff on the edges of the seats and press into your hips but I think they'll get softer as the bus is used over time. I think Woolmer's would have been more interesting when the roses were actually blooming and if we'd had a guide for the property and a better guide inside the building (my group got a family member who wanted to talk mostly about the preservation of the property through a family trust.) All in all, I'd recommend this tour highly. (Ed. This tour has been amended for the 2014/15 season)
Well thought out itinerary with excellent excursions 0 , United States, Mar 2012
Quality tour! The tour itinerary was well thought out and included excellent excursions.
I'd recommend this tour to anyone who loves nature 0 , United States, Apr 2011
I have always wanted to tour Tasmania, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The tour was well designed. I was the only American in the group, which was wonderful. I learned so much by traveling with Australians, and they made me feel at home. The highlight - seeing a Tasmanian devil in the wild one night! I'd recommend this tour to anyone who ...read more loves nature.
Great tour, met expectation 0 , Australia, Jan 2011
It was well organized. The driver and guide were excellent in their commentaries and their relationships with all of us. The accommodation was up to the stated standard. (Ed. This tour has been amended for the 2014/15 season)
