Would definitely book again through Global Journeys. The river cruise was good but not quite what we thought it would be. Most day trips were only 2 - 3 hours in length. Fellow passengers were enjoyable company and the entertainment, Tori & Dave, were excellent. Maybe we are too young to be going on river cruises!!

The cruise itself was excellent, but wish that we had been informed that it was the rainy season. At least 3 day tours were spoiled by constant rain. The main drawback was the lengthy flight home. We left Wednesday 8th November 11 am, endured 3 lengthy unpleasant flights with Singapore Airlines to arrive in Sydney 10th November 10 am. We had upgraded to Premium economy, but there was very little difference between this and Economy. The Singapore staff were unpleasant and at times very rude. The plane was old and in need of repair/upgrade. The seats were uncomfortable and worn. There was water leakage from above on occasion. The food was not good quality. On the middle trip home of 13 hours, Joy fell asleep and missed 2 meals. When she awoke and asked for a cup of tea, having not drunk anything in 10 hours, she was told NO!!!!!!!!! When Joy later got up to go to toilet, she was told to sit down, even though 2 other people were lined up at toilet. On 2 of the flights we were in the same seats, which were opposite a large double cupboard, which was constantly being opened and slammed shut by the staff as they shuffled paraphernalia backwards and forwards with constant noise and disturbance. We would never travel with Singapore Airlines again.

APT tour was excellent. Overall rating on Tour was excellent. Overall rating on flights was TERRIBLE.

Overall the cruise was fabulous. We were a little disappointed with the conclusion of our trip. Engine problems along with a public holiday meant that we were not given sufficient time in Budapest.

So many wonderful things about this cruise. Everything is organised for you. The meals are great and the drinks are free flowing. The staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Some fantastic sights that you stop and see along the way. Highly recommend this to anyone young or old.

We have done this trip previously, although in April. This time we went in November. Although the autumn colours were beautiful it was very cold most days (around 5 degrees during the day). We were ...read more really looking forward to riding the e-bikes on a couple of occasions but were told once we boarded that they stop that by the end of October. Very disappointed! We did find we were sitting around a lot on the ship and once we did stop at each port we were time limited. Maybe more day-time activities whilst on board too would have been better. On the whole we enjoyed our time away and couldn't fault the food and staff and their attention to detail.

A very enjoyable trip dispite the low river levels and the need to change ships. The scenery and Signature experiences were wonderful and well organised. Presented lovely, but found it largely very bland and not a lot of variety. ...read more Fellow passengers who had done the trip before expressed the view that it was not up to the standard of their original trip and I think there was a general view that standards had slipped. Perhaps that was a result of COVID affecting the staffing levels or general cost cutting. Would like to see a wider range of wines and food selections, but overall we had a great time. We highly recommend a river cruise with APT and also recommend Yvonne from Global Journeys for her great advice and prompt service.

Everyone on the ship was so helpful, they became like family and we were sad to leave. The trip was outstanding from beginning to end. We travelled from Amsterdam to Budapest. Every part of our journey ran so smoothly.

Our first river cruise was the best ever. We were pampered all the time, the staff were fantastic, nothing was too much to do. Seeing all the places I had read about was unbelievable, the people were so friendly & helpful, when we were lost or just wanted help. We would recommend this trip to anyone.

Our recent APT River Cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest was fantastic. The accommodation in our double balcony suite on the top level was very comfortable and gave us the choice of sitting outside while cruising, when not on top enjoying the sundeck. The all inclusive on shore excursions were varied and interesting, well organised with knowledgable local guides. Notably the visit to Namedy Castle and the Orchestral Concert in Vienna were outstanding. The food on board was varied and of very high quality, with many special treats for all. We highly recommend this APT cruise. Our thanks must go to our Global Journeys consultant Yvonne for her highly professional efforts in organising our last two overseas trips.

We loved our double balcony cabin and the top deck pool was very much appreciated as we were experiencing a record breaking heatwave in Europe. We were not expecting it to be so hot, 38 degrees some days, hotter than Sydney summer. Would love to do more river cruises in France or Portugal but the big drawback is the horrendously long flights to Europe. My ideal would be to cruise over and back. We booked our APT Europe River Cruise with Global Journeys, we upgraded flights and had a few changes, nothing was a problem and communication was excellent. We planned to be overseas for two months and Global Journeys were able to schedule everything to suit. Recommended.

The welcome when we boarded was impressive as we were personally escorted to our room and advised of all the facilities. We were advised the first night that there were concerns about the river levels being at record low levels. This proved to be the case and the authorities would not allow the cruise ships to pass through sections of the Rhine or Danube. APT through their people on board kept us fully informed of the day to day situation, which was totally out of their control, and provided alternative transport and accommodation where necessary.

In our case we spent three nights in top class hotels. I do not think we missed a great deal on the river and probably visited as many castle/churches, towns as was expected. APT were excellent at all levels, accommodation, meals, staff and organising tours. All the staff were very professional with a sense of humour. I would rate this company very highly, thanks for looking after us all.

A wonderful relaxed way to see a little of beautiful Europe. Could not fault the ship or the staff - we were very pampered. We did have to change ships halfway through because of low water levels but this was managed with minimal disruption. Our tour director Rachel, was excellent but unfortunately after 6 days she fell and broke her shoulder, poor ...read more girl. But she was replaced next day by Stuart who was every bit as good. Everything ran like clockwork and the APT special highlights - Namedy Castle, the Majestic Imperator train and the Vienna concert in Palais Liechtenstein were stunning. Would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see a few highlights of Europe but is put off by crowds, congestion etc. This is the way to do it!
