Your safety, as well as the safety of their employees and partners, has always been top priority for G Adventures, which is why new physical distancing and cleaning measures have been put in place on all tours.

New health and safety procedures have been put in place from the moment you start your trip to the moment you leave, without taking away from having the time of your life. These will evolve as time goes on and G Adventures continue to monitor local public health recommendations, but what won’t change is their commitment to keeping you safe as you start to explore again.

Here's how G Adventures are elevating their health and hygiene protocols so you can travel with confidence.

Small Groups

Even before physical distancing became a thing, G Adventures groups have always been small (usually 12 travellers) to encourage connections, access places overlooked by larger groups, and to give you plenty of personal space. These connections will continue, with newly created measures to keep you and everyone you meet safe.

Our CEOs

G Adventures’ CEOs (Chief Experience Officers) are responsible for you having the time of your life, which includes keeping you safe and happy. With their local knowledge, 24/7 support from field staff around the globe and new health and safety training, your CEO will continue to do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your adventure in whatever way makes you most comfortable.

This includes knowing the best time to visit trip highlights and attractions to avoid crowds whenever possible and suggesting the restaurants with the strictest hygiene practices or those where you can reserve your own table or room in advance Plus, they will wear face masks (and guide you on this too) when necessary, based on local guidelines and recommendations.

Getting around

Whether on the road or the high seas, G Adventures will implement daily assigned seating and daily deep cleaning of all surfaces on their private vehicles and boats. Every time you board the vehicle or vessel, you will be required to use hand sanitiser and facial coverings (masks) will be recommended while on-board.

Sleep soundly

Accommodation partners have always been selected carefully and now G Adventures are working with these partnerships to create elevated procedures to further protect your health and safety. Small groups means you stay at smaller hotels — which means fewer guests. This gives you the opportunity to spend quality time with your fellow travellers (with appropriate distancing), but you will also come in contact with fewer people, too.

Wherever possible, your group will stay on the lower floors to limit elevator use and hotels will implement social distancing protocols in line with local regulations. Elevated sanitation means daily deep cleaning and disinfecting of all surface areas inside your room with extra cleaning on light switches, door handles, TV remotes, and thermostats and once complete, you will be the only people to enter your room after it is cleaned.

All surfaces in public areas will also be cleaned with greater frequency. This might include the closure of public spaces such as gyms, bars, restaurants, and meeting rooms for periods throughout the day.

'My Own Room'

If you are a solo traveller sharing a room with someone, G Adventures will do their best to ensure they will be your roommate for the entire journey to support distancing efforts.

"My Own Rooms" is an extra option for tours (pending availability), and more of these will be offered at more affordable prices to make it even easier to have a bit more space and peace of mind.

Good, Safe Eats

Food can be a big part of why we travel, so G Adventures know it is crucial that you feel safe whenever you stop for a meal. Therefore they will only include eating experiences on tour where good hygiene is maintained and physical distancing is practised.

Wherever possible, separate tables or private rooms will be reserved at the restaurants your group visit, with for more "al fresco" opportunities where possible. Also breakfasts can be “grab and go” boxes, avoiding family style or self-serve buffets for meals so you to feel comfortable and safe as you savour every last bite.

Activities

Travellers have always had the freedom and flexibility to do their own thing on G Adventures’ tours with optional activities and experiences. You will still have those options with added measures to keep you healthy and safe. All equipment for activities on tour, including hiking poles, camping supplies, life jackets, snorkels and such will be cleaned thoroughly at least once a day and disinfected between use.

When you are responsible for putting up your own tents on camping itineraries, you will be given the supplies required to disinfect your gear. G Adventures will also do their best to make activities and stops at attractions happen during non-peak hours, so you can have fun and feel safe no matter what you’re doing.

A Healthy Goodbye (at home and away)

Just as it is important not to travel if you are unwell, if you’re not feeling well at the end of your tour for any reason, let your CEO know and they can help get you access to medical care and support. G Adventures want you to head home after a life-changing experience feeling just as good (let’s be honest, way better) than when you left.
