As of February 2019, visitors to the Galapagos will be prohibited from bringing non-returnable bottles of any description to the pristine archipelago. G Adventures has welcomed the move and announced that it will be offering a complimentary reusable water bottle to every guest travelling on their sea- and land-based itineraries to the region departing from 1 January 2019.
All G Adventures vessels operating in the Galapagos are fitted with filtered water in refillable tanks and the hotels used on their land-based tours will also offer the same service, so travellers can be comfortable using the water and refillable bottles provided.
This is the latest move by G Adventures to protect the destinations they visit, having already removed plastic straws from all of their vessels and taking part in a number of initiatives as part of the Ocean Health Fund operated in partnership with Planeterra, G Adventures’ non-profit partner.
