Explore Dakar and its highlights, including the African Renaissance Monument, a bronze statue that is the tallest in Africa, created to commemorate Senegal's independence from France. Explore its beautiful corniche and seaside promenade, and take in the views as you enjoy the ocean breeze. Visit the island of Gorée, where slaves were held before being dispatched to the New World, sending thousands of people across the waters. Today it serves as a reminder of its troubled past, and as a sanctuary that promotes reconciliation and peace.

Start your day with a walk around the Promenade Deck; once around measures ¼ mile. Later, you might indulge in a manicure or pedicure at The Salon and enjoy a first-run or classic movie in The Theater, popcorn included. Tonight, enjoy an elegant meal in The Restaurant.
