Itinerary

Welcome to Hobart and the Apple Isle. Your three-night Special Stay includes a special Taste of Tasmania welcome dinner. This hotel is located right in the heart of Hobart on the water’s edge and close to major attractions such as Salamanca Place. (D)

Freechoice: Choose from a range of attractions in the harbour city. Enjoy a bus tour and take in some of Hobart’s main highlights or visit the Huon Valley and walk amongst the fruit orchards. Alternatively, cruise on the MONA ferry and enjoy a tour of the daring Museum of Old and New Art or cruise the Derwent River to see Australia’s oldest lighthouse or visit the Historic Village of Richmond. Delve into Tasmania’s convict past with a visit to World Heritage-listed Port Arthur. Your guided tour of the former penal colony includes a cruise to the Isle of the Dead for a true insight into the lives and deaths of Port Arthur’s past residents, both convicts and free settlers. (B)

Visit the lush rainforest of Mt Field National Park, Tasmania’s oldest National Park, and the location of the spectacular three-tiered Russell Falls. Enrich: Witness history in the making with your visit to the ‘Wall in the Wilderness’, a wood-carved history of the Central Tasmanian Highlands. A continuous work in progress, artist Greg Duncan has hand-carved a series of scenes into panels commemorating those who have shaped the area’s past and present. Visit Hellyer’s Road Distillery and take the whisky walk, learning about how whisky is distilled and matured in Tasmania. Visit the town of Sheffield and discover its history, geography, wildlife, and people from the murals that are painted on the walls across town. Freechoice: Choose from a tour of the infamous Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre, a visit to the Platypus House and Seahorse World. Alternatively, tour the highly regarded cool climate wineries of this region; take a tasting tour at Boags Brewery; or enjoy a leisurely lunch cruise on the Tamar River. (B/D)

After a leisurely morning, visit Tasmania's only gold medal gin distillery – Turners Stillhouse located in the picturesque Grindelwald valley for a tour and tasting. Then enjoy a guided walk through the vines before a tasting of the cool climate wines at the Tamar Ridge Cellar Door. (B)

Enrich: Fly from Launceston to Flinders Island, the largest island in the Furneaux Group located in Bass Strait. Spectacularly wild and rugged, spend the day with our local guide discovering sparkling beaches, abundant wildlife and flora and clear sapphire beaches. Visit the historic Wybalenna, one of the most significant Aboriginal historical places in Tasmania. Leaving the island, the return flight to Hobart will fly along the East Coast of Tasmania seeing the iconic Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park from above.
