Itinerary
Welcome to Hanoi and the start of your holiday. Transfer from Hanoi airport to the hotel for check-in is included. The rest of the day is free for you and your family to explore the city, which is easily accessible on foot. At 6pm there will be a Welcome Meeting in the hotel lobby.
Hanoi - Mai Chau. Enjoy a scenic drive to reach the beautiful Mai Chau Valley today. Enroute we stop to visit the fascinating Muong Culture Museum and learn all about the Muong ethnic minority people. Arriving at our lodge we enjoy a tasty lunch before a leisurely bicycle ride through the countryside this afternoon. (B/L/D)
Today we set out on a scenic 7km trek to Mai Hich village which is home to the Thai and Muong ethnic populations. Here we join a local family and help to cook a tasty lunch of local ethnic cuisine together. After lunch we hop on the back of mopeds for a fun two-wheeled adventure, exploring the nearby villages. (B/L/D)
Mai Chau - Ninh Binh. We drive to the picturesque Ninh Binh region this morning and take a scenic sampan cruise to explore Galaxy Cave. This afternoon we take in the breathtaking views of Tam Coc from Ngoa Long Mountain and explore Mua Cave before spending the night in Ninh Binh. (B/L/D)
Hanoi – Halong Bay. This morning we drive to beautiful Halong Bay. Boarding a deluxe junk boat we cruise the emerald waters. Later we visit spectacular Trinh Nu Cave and there's the opportunity to swim and kayak. Tonight, there's a Vietnamese cooking demonstration and seafood dinner. (B/L/D)
Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue. Start the day with a Tai Chi class on the sundeck before exploring the beautiful Sung Sot cave en route back to port. Arriving back into Hanoi embark on a guided cyclo tour of the ‘36 streets of the old quarter' before our overnight sleeper train to Hue. (B)
Breakfast onboard the train. After arrival and hotel check in at Hue, we tour the city's Thien Mu Pagoda, Imperial Purple Palace, and the countryside Royal Tombs. As the sun sets, opt for a peaceful cruise along the Perfume River. (B/L)
Hue - Road of the Ocean Clouds - Hoi An. We take the scenic Hai Van Pass (Road of the Ocean Clouds), to the port of Hoi An, stopping for a stroll along China Beach. Enjoy a short afternoon walking tour of the historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (B)
Today we take a bicycle ride through the countryside to Cam Thanh Farm, where we'll learn about traditional farming practices. Enjoy a hands-on day family day, tending to the fields and gardens, before a lesson in preparing tasty traditional Vietnamese cuisine for our lunch. Then we cycle to a bamboo workshop where we can make our own bamboo product with an local craftsman. (B/L)
Today is free for you to spend as you choose - relax or sightsee further. (B)
Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City. Early morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City, once called the 'Pearl of the Orient'. Here we take in some of the city's most famous landmarks on a walking tour including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office, before visiting the sobering War Remnants Museum. (B)
Our tour comes to an end today, with a departure transfer to the airport. If you have time, consider shopping for souvenirs at the Ben Thanh Market or visiting the grand Independence Palace. You can also opt to extend your stay and join us on a day trip to the Vietcong's remarkable Cu Chi Tunnels. (B)
