Comfortable trip in the path of the Shoguns 0 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2026
Oceania provided a comfortable sector of our 3 weeks in Japan. Meals were great and service and staff were outstanding. Many tours offered were expensive and necessitated long bus journeys and or walks to reach destinations. There could have been some effort given to the historical nature of the cruise path and background to what we were to see, before read more we arrived at ports, some of which were not located close to centres. The guest lecturer Mrs. Lowenstein was both informative and entertaining on the last 2 days of cruise when we were at sea. Such overviews might have been insightful prior to departure. The last stop was a wasted opportunity, arriving on dusk when things were shutting and dark. A stop however that was necessary for refueling and food supplies loaded for the next voyage on Tokyo return. The highlight of our trip was our hotel and week in Tokyo before the cruise. The Hotel Chinzanso was an exquisite slice of Japanese culture and modern society in Northern Tokyo.
