During your time in Southampton, explore its medieval architectural spots like Bargate and the Old Town walls, shop at the ultra-modern Westquay and historic sites such as the SeaCity Museum and the Titanic Trail. Southampton is approximately 128 kilometers (80 miles) southwest of London, which takes around 1.5 to 2 hours by car or train. The port is conveniently located near the city center.

Discover new ways to learn and grow with the remarkable guest speakers and classes we host on board. During your voyage, you may be joined by some famous faces with fascinating stories to share - perhaps a famous writer, actor or musician or possibly an eminent scientist, explorer or politician.

Arrives: 7:00 AM Departs: 5:00 PM

The Port of Cádiz is located directly adjacent to the city center, so you'll be able to explore the historic heart of Cádiz with a short 10-minute walk. The city is renowned for its ancient maritime heritage, beautiful beaches, and well-preserved landmarks such as the Cádiz Cathedral and the Torre Tavira, offering panoramic views of the city. If your plan is to visit Seville, it's about 120 kilometers (75 miles) away - roughly a 90-minute drive. Consider arranging a guided excursion to make the most of your time in this historic city.

Whether you're an absolute beginner or simply keen to perfect your steps you'll love the opportunity to join the variety of dance classes on offer. Available on voyages of 7 nights or more, classes are lead by coupled instructors and include ballroom as well as Latin and line dance. And when evening falls, what better way to showcase your new moves than in the chandeliered grandeur of the Queens Room?

Arrives: 5:30 AM Departs: 7:00 PM

Welcome to the ancient city of Athens, the 'Cradle of Western Civilisation' and a historian’s delight. Uncover the awe-inspiring Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, adorned with iconic structures like the Parthenon and nearby Temple of Olympian Zeus. The nearby Acropolis Museum showcases stunning artifacts from ancient Greece, providing deeper insight into the city's heritage.

Afterward, wander through Plaka, Athens' oldest neighborhood, known for its narrow streets, neoclassical architecture, and charming tavernas. For lunch, indulge in traditional Greek cuisine like moussaka or souvlaki. Head to the National Garden for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city, perfect for a leisurely afternoon stroll amid lush greenery and historical statues.

Port:Piraeus

Piraeus, the primary port for Athens, is located about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) southwest of the city center. Cruise ships dock at the Piraeus Cruise Terminal, from where it takes roughly 20-30 minutes to reach Athens by taxi or train. The metro station is within walking distance of the port, offering a convenient and cost-effective way to get to the city.

There are taxi queues outside all gates of the airport. A taxi ride from the airport to Piraeus port will take approximately 40-60 minutes, depending on the traffic. The taxi fare (indicative) from Athens airport to the port of Piraeus is 45 euros in the daytime and 64 euros at night (24:00-05:00). Ferries from Piraeus offer connections to all islands of the Aegean, including the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the Saronic, the North Aegean islands and Crete.

It couldn't be easier to meet people on board. The ship's social host ensures that guests need never feel out of place, enabling solo travellers to make connections at specially hosted coffee gatherings and dinner tables, and also a range of daytime activities. Indeed, before your invitation to the 'Welcome Cocktail Party' arrives, there's every chance you'll already have met the perfect company to share in the excitement.

Arrives: 7:00 AM Departs: 10:00 PM

Likened to Naples or San Francisco, Haifa sits on the pine-scented hillsides of a sweeping bay. Perhaps the most charming city in Northern Israel, its beaches, museums and galleries delight visitors. The Baha’i Shrine and Gardens of Haifa can leave you reeling, with statues of eagles and peacocks presiding over manicured lawns that rise in tiers to reveal views of the gold-domed shrine and beyond.

As the third largest city in Israel, and also one of its prettiest, Haifa has plenty to offer, including picturesque gardens, architecture from the Ottoman and Bauhaus periods, and a lively town centre. Hilly Haifa is also Israel’s largest port, and the sea plays an important role in day-to- day life here. On your Haifa cruise, you will find attractive beaches giving way to a unique mix of neighbourhoods, cultures and six faiths living peacefully side by side.

Perhaps the most iconic of all Haifa’s sights are the Bahá’í Gardens on the dramatic, sheer inclines of Mount Carmel. You will find 19 immaculately manicured terraces containing flower beds, fountains, pools and sculptures, and the views out over Haifa Bay alone are worth the visit. It takes over 100 gardeners to maintain the site, and the hard work definitely pays off – the gardens are a place of beauty, peace and serenity. It is no surprise then that they were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.

The port area of Haifa, Israel’s main maritime gateway, is the liveliest and most bustling area of the city, and is also where you will find the most shops, restaurants, bars and galleries. Indulge in some traditional Israeli fare, pick up some souvenirs, or relax with a drink and watch the world go by. When you want to take a break, head down to Dado Beach – a luxurious stretch of sand lined with coffee shops and restaurants – to cool off.

Haifa is also located near many other iconic Israeli sites, making it a great base for exploring the Dead Sea, the Crusader city of Akko and the ancient city of Jerusalem nearby.

A day at sea offers a world of experiences, all tailored to your pace and preferences. Enjoy a refreshing dip in one of the heated pools or take in expansive ocean views with a few laps of Promenade Deck. Relax at the Mareel® Wellness & Beauty spa, with rejuvenating treatments inspired by the ocean. Partake in a guided gin tasting or attend a classical concert.

Indulge in gourmet meals at the grand Britannia Restaurant, sip champagne at sunset or enjoy a cocktail by the pool. Choose from an array of entertainment options, including stage shows, live bands, and late-night dancing. Play a round of paddle tennis, table tennis, golf putting, and shuffleboard. Younger guests will also stay entertained at one of four dedicated children’s clubs, ensuring fun for the whole family.

Arrives: 5:00 AM Departs: 3:00 PM

Enjoy the breathtaking illusion of sailing through oceans of desert sand as you cruise the Suez Canal, the engineering marvel that connects the Mediterranean and Red Seas.

As you transit the 101 mile expanse, admire the desert views occasionally interrupted by little villages, with domed mosques and minarets towering into the sky.

The passage requires no locks, as both bodies of water are at about the same level. Not wide enough to allow 2-way passage, 3 convoys are scheduled to transit the canal on a typical day, two southbound and one northbound.

Arrives: 8:00 AM Departs: 10:00 PM

Petra, Jordan's crown jewel, is an archaeological wonder carved directly into vibrant red, white, pink, and sandstone cliffs. Port:Aqaba

Aqaba, Jordan's only coastal city provides access to the stunning UNESCO World Heritage site city of Petra, located about 129 kilometers (80 miles) away and the desert landscape of Wadi Rum, located approximately 73 kilometers (45 miles) away. If time is tight in you can explore the Aqaba Marine Park, renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. History buffs will appreciate the Aqaba Fort, a 16th-century Mamluk castle, and the adjacent archaeological museum housing artifacts from the region.

Whichever ship you decide on you can choose from a refreshing variety of pools and whirlpools - each heated to just the right temperature. Queen Mary 2 offers two outdoor pools and her Pavilion Pool has a retractable roof so you can enjoy a dip whatever the weather and her luxurious Spa Pool is a treat.

Amazing First trip on Queem Mary 2 Transatantic Southampton to New York   1 , CT, United States, Oct 2025

Our cruise was beyond expectations 1 , MA, United States, Sep 2025
Hayley Lounds at Global Journeys was exceptional in handling any issues we raised prior to cruise. Having experienced a number of European River cruises we were delighted with the high standards onboard. Fabulous state room, excellent quality food. Congratulations to all involved. Looking forward to next cruise.
Cruise - 7 nights on Queen Mary 2 Norwegian Fjords 1 , QLD, Australia, Jul 2025
The cruise went very well and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised with priority check-in at the Cruise Ship, having booked a Club Balcony Stateroom. Meals were excellent and the tours we picked were also excellent. Staff on board were also excellent. Loved the scenery of Norway. Enjoyed Cunard except for being on the 13th read more floor, overall it was good, just it was difficult to be able to get to the 13th floor as there were only 2 lifts available that would go to that level floor. It meant a lot of walking around to get to restaurants, etc. There needs to be more clear signage as well on the ship to get from A to B. Tracey was very good, everything went smoothly. Information received was clear and it was easy to get to Cunard Portal for bookings, etc. This is only the second time we have used Global Journeys and would do so again.
Iconic transatlantic voyage experience   12 , QLD, Australia, Jun 2024
We absolutely loved our Queen Mary 2 Southampton to New York transatlantic crossing. Everything was perfect. We felt the food was higher quality than our experience of other cruise ships and the staff were far more attentive and seemed happier. The quality of the lectures was outstanding. We had lectures from Mensun Bound from Oxford University on his read more expedition which found Shackleton’s ship the Endurance I. Antarctica. Other lectures on the Concord by an ex Concord pilot were also outstanding and lectures about the history of espionage. All outstanding.

The ship itself is older but has been refurbished so is excellently maintained. We actually loved the size of the ship. It was large enough to contain all of the usual amenities but it was significantly smaller than some so we found it excellent to get around and feel like we were close to everything. One of the best aspects is that for the number of passengers there are a huge number of quiet spaces that you could go to if you want to be on your own bit equally there was always somewhere buzzing if you were chasing that.

We loved the gala nights - one was red and gold theme and the other was masquerade. It was lovely seeing everyone’s outfits and watching so many great ballroom dancers. However, it was not stuffy at all. We can’t really dance but we were made to feel welcome and it was fine for us to just do our low level shuffling or more modern dance style - anything goes really.

Another highlight was the afternoon tea everyday. Just lovely! Each day was a different musician - string quartet / pianist / cellist etc. the white glove service of fresh sandwiches, beautiful pastries, and scones was just so lovely. All day room service is also included I. The regular price and we really enjoyed this on a couple of occasions.

Apart from this, the whole reality that you are crossing the Atlantic and thoughts of where we were in relation to the Titanic made this a really poignant cruise experience.

Finally, the final approach into New York was just incredible. Under the bridge with the funnels just clearing, followed by cruising past the Statue of Liberty, and finally seeing that Manhattan skyline is an unbeatable way to arrive in New York. We absolutely loved it!!!!
Sydney To Southampton (Centenary World Voyage) 26 , VIC, Australia, Mar 2023
The cruise was very good all the staff was terrific. The food was out of this world you would not go hungry. Entertainment very good. The drinks were a bit expensive, a bit surprised as they charge a % fee for service charge. The drinks package was too much you would be an alcoholic by the time you reached UK. We will be going again with Cunard cruises read more and thank you for your help.
1st Cunard Cruise 10 , Vic, Australia, Mar 2023
Great what a trip - better than flying. Staff and crew were great friendly and helpful didn't realise how relaxing it was. Thanks to Hannah and Global Journeys.
