Itinerary

Welcome to Denver, Colorado. Be met on arrival at the airport and transfer to your hotel before a Signature Experience tonight. A welcome dinner awaits this evening. Stay Two Nights: Denver, The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection (D)

Signature Experiences:
  • Set out on a private history tour of The Brown Palace Hotel and uncover the property's fascinating past.

Today will be spent exploring this fascinating city. Discover Denver's downtown area and see sights including the giant Blue Bear sculpture, historic Larimer Square and the Colorado State Capitol.

Later, head to the historic city of Golden, where you'll visit the world-famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre and Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave. The rest of the day has been left free for you to spend at your leisure. (B)

Board the Rocky Mountaineer in Denver this morning for your two-day journey through the incredible desert landscapes of the southwest. Enjoy breakfast on board as you take in views of the Gross Reservoir dam. Your journey continues as the train slowly gains elevation before reaching the Continental Divide. Be sure to have your camera handy as your train travels along the Colorado River, passing through a series of spectacular canyons.

Disembark in the resort town of Glenwood Springs, where you'll be transferred to your hotel for the night. Stay: Glenwood Springs, hotel as assigned by Rocky Mountaineer (three-star accommodation) (B/L)

After a relaxing morning in Glenwood Springs, re-board the Rocky Mountaineer for another day of spectacular scenery as your train heads southeast. Continue along the Colorado River into Utah, and take in the stunning red rock formations lining the cliffs in Ruby Canyon, which is only accessible by train or from the river. After crossing over the Colorado-Utah state line, look out for Mount Peale, the highest point of the La Sal Mountains. Your Rocky Mountaineer journey then comes to an end as you arrive into Moab. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Arches National Park, home to more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches. Stay Two Nights: Hoodoo Moab, Curio Collection by Hilton (B/D)

This morning, select your Freedom of Choice experience. Afterwards, head to Canyonland National Park for a tour of its Island in the Sky district. The park is known for its dramatic desert landscape carved by the Colorado River, and Island in the Sky is a huge, flat-topped cliff with breathtaking panoramic viewpoints. (B)

  • Hop aboard a custom 4x4 Hummer and discover Moab's spectacular backcountry in style and comfort, head out on a river rafting adventure along a world-renowned stretch of the Colorado River, or take to the skies for a scenic flight over Arches National Park and see incredible formations such as Courthouse Towers, Delicate Arch, Devil's Garden and Castle Valley.

Travel to Monument Valley today for a special Signature Experience. Later, continue to your resort at Lake Powell. Stay Two Nights: Lake Powell Resort in a View Room (B/L/D)

  • Enjoy a Monument Valley tour and visit a traditional Navajo home before experiencing authentic Navajo entertainment as you savour lunch.

Today, board a raft to explore the spectacular Colorado River. Beginning at the sheer walls of Glen Canyon Dam, float past iconic sights including Horseshoe Bend. As you travel gently downriver you will also see Petroglyph Beach, which features 5,000-year-old wall carvings made by the Indigenous Puebloan people who lived in the region, set beneath soaring cliffs. Journey to Bryce Canyon National Park today, and take in Horseshoe Bend's sheer cliffs and sweeping river valley. At Bryce Canyon, be left in awe by its exquisite geological wonders, including the sandcastle-like pinnacles known as hoodoos. Continue to your lodge in Springdale, located right on the edge of Zion National Park. Stay Two Nights: Springdale, Cliffrose Lodge, Curio Collection by Hilton (B/D)

Spend the day on your chosen activity in Zion National Park. (B)

Freedom of Choice:
  • Enjoy a relaxing tram tour through the park, accompanied by a picnic lunch. Or for those feeling more active, perhaps head out on a guided hike in the park's Narrows and learn about the history, geology, flora and fauna of the region.

Leave the desert behind as you travel to the neon-lit oasis of Las Vegas. An orientation tour provides the perfect introduction to this lively city. The rest of the day has been left free for you to spend at leisure. Stay Two Nights: Bellagio Hotel and Casino (B)

After a special Signature Experience, fly back to Vegas, where you will enjoy a night tour, including a visit to the fascinating Neon Museum. Founded in 1996, the Neon Museum is a non-profit organisation dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting vintage Las Vegas signs. Afterwards, it's time for a farewell dinner. (B/D)

  • Take to the skies today for an exhilarating helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. Soar over the iconic Hoover Dam and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Mead and the Mojave Desert as you head towards the Grand Canyon. After flying into the canyon, your helicopter will descend and land 3,500 feet below the rim.

Your journey comes to an end today with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
