Itinerary

Embarkation from 4:00pm

Welcome to Paris – the city of love and great artists. After embarkation, you will have time to settle in and become acquainted with your floating hotel at your leisure. In the evening, following the welcome dinner, an information briefing will provide all essential details about the planned shore excursions, golf courses and tee times, as your AMADEUS ship sets course for the first stage of your journey.

Golf Club Le Golf National - Albatros course

During the night you arrive in Conflans, where the rivers Oise and Seine converge. Here, an outstanding golfing experience already awaits you: a transfer takes you to the renowned Le Golf National, located southwest of Paris near the Palace of Versailles. You will play the Albatros Championship Course, one of Europe's finest golf courses and host of the Ryder Cup in 2018. Enjoy a challenging round of golf before returning to the ship in the evening, where a delightful dinner awaits as your vessel once again glides along the Seine.

Le Golf National - Albatros Course: The legendary Albatros Course ranks among the most prestigious golf courses in Europe and impresses with a perfect balance of strategic challenge and sporting elegance. Numerous risk-and-reward elements, gently undulating fairways and classic links-style bunkers define the varied layout and challenge golfers of all skill levels. Particularly spectacular are the water hazards on the final four holes, demanding maximum concentration and precision even from experienced players. Known as the “French heart of golf,” Le Golf National was founded in 1985 and is located in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, just southwest of Paris and close to the Palace of Versailles. Designed by architects Hubert Chesneau and Robert von Hagge, the course was conceived as a championship venue and permanent home of the Open de France, which has been held here regularly since 1991, with only two exceptions. International acclaim reached new heights when the Albatros Course hosted the Ryder Cup in 2018. Playing this iconic course is not only a sporting challenge, but a true prestige experience for passionate golfers.

Medieval beauty and artistic heritage in the heart of Normandy

In the morning you arrive in Rouen, known as the “Ville Musée” thanks to its many museums and rich artistic heritage. Whether exploring on your own or joining our guided city tour, a visit to the beautifully preserved medieval centre is an absolute must. The tour through the historic capital of Normandy takes you back to the Middle Ages, with Gothic churches, lovingly restored patrician houses and half-timbered buildings shaping the cityscape. Learn more about the city's remarkable past, made famous by figures such as the Dukes of Normandy, Joan of Arc, the writers Corneille and Flaubert, and the artists Géricault and Monet.

Another highlight is the timeless astronomical clock Le Gros Horloge from the 14th century. Alternatively, a short walk up to the Côte Sainte-Catherine, one of the city's finest viewpoints, offers a breathtaking panorama over Rouen, including the impressive Notre-Dame Cathedral, several historic churches and the six bridges spanning the Seine. In the afternoon, a delightful countryside excursion awaits. On a visit to the Pressoir d'Or estate, you will enjoy a cider tasting before continuing on to Lyons-la-Forêt, one of France's most beautiful and characterful villages, which you can explore at your own pace.

Étretat Golf Club

Le Havre presents itself as a fascinating contrast of modern architecture, maritime atmosphere and cultural diversity. Severely damaged during the Second World War, the city was rebuilt under the direction of architect Auguste Perret and is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Clean lines, light-filled spaces and the consistent use of concrete define its distinctive cityscape. After breakfast, you set off for a special highlight of the day: a visit to the stunning Golf Club d'Étretat. More than 100 years old, this exceptional course captivates with spectacular panoramic views of the sea and is regarded as one of the finest coastal golf courses in France.

Étretat Golf Club: Perched high on the dramatic cliffs of Étretat, this exceptional 18-hole golf course offers sweeping views of the sea, the striking chalk cliffs and the town of Étretat itself. The Golf Club d'Étretat is widely regarded as one of the finest coastal golf courses in France. Founded in 1908 by the English, the club's first president was Bernard Forbes, 8th Earl of Granard. Honorary members included Lord Denman, later Governor-General of Australia, and Lord Wodehouse, Baron of Kimberley. The original 13-hole course was designed by Julien Chantepie and Arnaud Massy. The club was forced to close during the Second World War and reopened in 1949 after the removal of landmines. In the 1990s, Didier Fruchet redesigned the layout, resulting in today's course stretching over approximately 6,000 metres. The back nine, laid out along the steep cliff edge, are particularly demanding and provide a thrilling and visually spectacular golfing experience.

Golfclub Barrière de Deauville

From Le Havre, you set off directly after breakfast for another outstanding golfing experience of your journey: the renowned Golf Club Barrière de Deauville. The drive takes you through the scenic landscape of Normandy up to the heights of Mont Canisy, offering impressive views of the coastline along the way. Just a few kilometres from Deauville, one of France's most beautiful golf resorts awaits you. The spacious course impresses with a demanding layout that requires both precision and strategic play. Set within gently rolling parkland and surrounded by lush greenery, you will repeatedly enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the sea.

Golfclub Barrière de Dauville: Just two kilometres from Deauville, one of France's most beautiful golf resorts rises above the coastline on the heights of Mont Canisy. Set across 70 hectares and featuring 27 holes, the course offers a high technical standard that appeals to both ambitious and seasoned golfers alike. The championship course was designed by renowned architects Tom Simpson and Henry Cotton and has hosted major tournaments including the French Open, Ebel Match Play, and the Air France Madame Championships. Embedded in a diverse landscape of tree-lined fairways and gently rolling open parkland, the course offers frequent spectacular views of the sea. Holes 12, 13 and 16 demand particular precision, while the long greens require accurate putting. The 18-hole course measures 5,951 metres and plays to Par 71, complemented by the 9-hole Cotton Course (3,035 metres, Par 36), which challenges even experienced players with fast greens and numerous bunkers. From the 9-hole Blanc Course, often used as the back nine of the main course, golfers enjoy impressive panoramic views over Deauville.

Le Golf Parc Robert Hersant

In the morning, your ship arrives in Les Andelys, picturesquely situated on one of the most beautiful bends of the Seine. The charming small town is best known for the impressive ruins of Château Gaillard, towering high above the river and built by Richard the Lionheart, still dominating the valley today. Today, another highlight of your golf journey awaits you: Le Golf Parc Robert Hersant. Nestled in the tranquil Eure Valley, this renowned 18-hole championship course is set within a spacious and immaculately maintained parkland landscape. In the evening, your ship makes a brief stop in Mantes-la-Jolie, where you rejoin the vessel.

Le Golf Parc Robert Hersant: Set in the idyllic Eure Valley in Normandy, Le Golf Parc Robert Hersant is an 18-hole championship course that blends harmoniously into its natural surroundings. Spanning more than 100 hectares, the immaculately maintained course is playable year-round thanks to its outstanding conditioning. The fairways are lined with remarkable tree species such as giant sequoias, ginkgo biloba and tulip trees, while twelve hectares of water features, home to swans and other waterfowl, add to the course's serene atmosphere. With 56 bunkers, generous fairways, 30 hectares of rough and a modern fleet of 70 golf carts, the course offers both sporting challenge and visual pleasure. The perfectly manicured greens guarantee a first-class golfing experience. After your round, the elegant clubhouse invites you to relax and enjoy magnificent views over the course.

Eiffel Tower & Notre-Dame

In the early morning hours, you once again arrive in the French capital, and this day is entirely dedicated to Paris. In the morning, you have the opportunity to join a comprehensive city tour introducing you to the city's most famous landmarks. Admire the venerable Notre-Dame Cathedral, majestically set on the Île de la Cité, experience the iconic Eiffel Tower as a symbol of modern engineering, and drive along the elegant Champs-Élysées, lined with stylish shops, cafés and historic buildings.

The afternoon is devoted to the Parisian way of life. An excursion to the renowned artists' quarter of Montmartre transports you to another era, where narrow streets, small ateliers and charming cafés evoke the vibrant history of the Bohemian movement. Use the remaining time for an individual stroll or enjoy a café au lait in one of the traditional bistros before reflecting on the impressions of this memorable day back on board in the evening.

Disembarkation after breakfast

After breakfast, your Amadeus Diamond crew bids you “adieu”. We hope to see you again soon!

Why pay for other people’s drinks? Why pay for shore excursions that don’t interest you? Family-owned Amadeus has spent 40-years' perfecting the balance without compromising quality. Beer, wine and soft drinks at lunch and dinner, but not during the day. Only pay for the shore excursions you want. Book an excursion package more in advance for a discount or book individual excursions as you go. Gourmet dining, wi-fi, bottled water in cabins and of course one of the most luxurious five-star fleets on the European waterways. To quote a regular repeat guest “Amadeus are fantastic. A really great product and the crew are all so beautiful”. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.
